RE: QUICK WHICH ENGINE AND WHY for my SAVAGE!!!
ORIGINAL: pitbull14218 I have either an O.S. Hot Glow plug or a O'Donnell Hot Glow plug, and im using sidewinder fuel. I forget the nitro content. Should I just get cheap glow plugs for break in or?
It's not that big of a deal what glow plugs you get. I personally would get the OS #8 plug, as it's a good all-rounder, and will guarantee the engine to start. When you start to tune the engine for performance, than i would start to stick to the same plugs, to save confusion when tuning...

RE: QUICK WHICH ENGINE AND WHY for my SAVAGE!!!
Spin start uses a "Hexagon" head to turn the engine, Sort of like an allan-key. And a Roto start uses the round head with the pins to turn the engine.

RE: Extended LCG chassis options?
Yeah, i wouldn't really go with any other company than FLM. I've had mine on my savage for 2 and a half years with no problems what so eva. The only thing i don't like about the design, are the rounded edges. But apart from that, you cant beat the lifetime warranty... RE: Batboat T2 (Requested)
Hay, Nice boat. I would use Trim tabs as a last resort... From the video, once the boat gets on a plan it starts to hop. From looking at the pictures your prop is already angled down quite a bit, so i would move the batt/s forwards. I know it's really hard designing an building a boat from scratch. I personaly would have designed the boats rails differently - I would of made them opposite to how you have made them - so the rails were taller towards the back of the boat, than they got small towards the front, this would give the hull something to rest on when it's on a plan, and make it more stable. If i were to make the hull like you have, i would have mounted the prop a bit higher, so there is more hull in the water - I believe this would stop the nose from hopping as well. But, who am i to know - thats just my 2 cents. Good luck.

RE: prop strut !!
Hi, Im not 100% on this - as i don't own a shockwave 26, and do not know what they look like. But if it's the same boat that i have attached an image of, than i believe you cannot adjust the prop angle. You can however move your batteries and stuff around the boat... For example, if you want the boats nose out of the water, than move your goodies to the back of the boat, and vise-versa if you want the nose to dig in more. Hope this helps -

Also, I wouldn't even Bother trying to start it, unless you preheat the head with a hairdryer, or some head source... That way you wont be pulling away at the pullstart/rotostart all day...

If you cant find an LRP spec 3 .28, than the Nosram RS.28 evo is an awesome choice...It's The exact same engine... just different badges... I have one in my savage now and it hammers... RE: secrets on lrp z.28 spec 3 with pullstart?
I have a nosram 28, which is basically the same as the LRP 28 spec 3... Mine starts really easy. First i find it easy to have a good tune, fresh fuel, good glow plug and charged igniter. Than, i open throttle up full, prim the engine by taking fuel line off the exhaust and blowing in it, like budbud stated. keep the throttle open full and turn the engine over 4 times (with out glow igniter in). Close throttle back to idle, plug in igniter and it should start within 4 pulls. If it's a new engine, than it helps if you heat the engine up with a hairdryer before hand....

RE: Boat Nose diving?!?!
ORIGINAL: Dreamin Hemi Your pictures verify this, that is an intense negative angle and will surely lead to the hull riding "wet" as confirmed by the pictures. Can you slightly bend the shaft upward a little? Even a couple degrees will significantly help your situation. The manual should show you how to make adjustments if you have one.
Hi, I cannot bend the shaft as it is a solid shaft... I am thinking about getting an adjustable stinger drive and fit a cable shaft... like one of these. but i don't want to really spend allot of money on something that might be able to be fixxed. www.ozrcboatsupplies.com/Stinger%2001.jpg
ORIGINAL: SV27dayton Please include a side shot of the hull. Particularly hte rear, straight on from directly beside the boat. Also: Has this just started or has it done this since you started running this boat? here are some pics of the boat running at full speed Thanks
ORIGINAL: Dreamin Hemi I'm guessing that your strut angle is too low. Perhaps got bumped? Can you adjust the strut (tube) upwards a couple degrees? I'm willing to bet that would fix your problem.
Thats what i thought also, but the motor is as low as it can go on the motor mount, and any lower it will be hitting the hull... Thanks

Boat Nose diving?!?!
Hey guys. Having a little problem with my arpro. When the boat is running full throttle, the nose seems to dig in and spray water everywhere. I've taken the trim tabs off and moved the battery as far back as i can, but still the boats nose digs in the water at full speed. Are there any tips/tricks to stop this? Thanks.... Here are some pics of the boats layout.

RE: Proboat WidowMaker
$399, coming out late june. I just had a look at website www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx Has some pretty delicious features. One i like is this two hatches and the magnet to hold it on. In the video it looks like it likes to ride on top of the waves allot....Personally i would not like my boat jumping around on those small waves...

Yes, you will have to buy crystals for that receiver - But those crystals you linked to on eBay are FM, you want AM crystals, because that receiver is AM.

RE: First time cruise
ORIGINAL: SV27dayton I like the canopy. Looks like the boat is running really wet.
Yeah, i Agree 100% - Those pictures are from the 2nd run - The trim tabs were set on the highest setting, and the battery was right at the back of the boat, but even still, when going full throttle, the boat would dig it's nose in. So ive taken the trim tabs off, and moved the battery around. This has made a Huge difference going full Throttle, but when going slow the boat doesn't plan very well...But, that doesn't matter, because 90% of the time the boats going full throttle... I'm just waiting for my Octra Prop to get Sharpened and Balanced, as ive already snapped 2 plastic props...

Thanks for all your help... I was getting worried that i wasn't doing something right. I just found some Water Resistant marine & Trailer grease. It's a bit thicker than the grease that came with the boat, But it's the same colour...And no water seems to be getting in the hull. Thanks

RE: First time cruise
Hello. I just bought it a week ago. I was going to get the Super Vee Brushless, but i wanted to go LiPo and not spend to much $$$. So the guys at the hobby shop recommended the Arpro, as it only runs on one LiPo. This is my first "Hobby grade" Boat, so i wasn't to sure what to expect, but so far im very happy with the build quality, I have found no defects and the only thing im disappointed with is the stock Plastic Props...So far ive snaped two and am on my third waiting for the hobby shop to sharpen and balance some mettle props.

For Sealing the hatches...I was getting a little annoyed putting tape around, to seal it. So i got some Door-Weather Strips and put it on the hull so it would have a Lip, to stop water. RE: Sealing hatches and Greasing Shaft?
Hello Again. Today i tried to grease my Prop shaft with marine grease...But with no Luck. Every time i put grease on the shaft, than slide it back in the boat the grease would just come of the shaft... Than i tried to syringe it in, but than when i put the shaft back in the grease just came out the other end and made a big mess in the boat. Is there a trick or a tool for putting the grease in??? Thanks guys.
