I'm not sure what the draw is but the 7000mah Hobbico gel cell from Tower Hobbies works great. I think there only about $20.00.

RE: battery size
I had 2 successful 8 minute flights prior to the glitch. Could a stalled servo have exceeded the current output of the battery? I don''t know what the "c" rating is on the Sanyo 2000mah.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
If you have already ran it for ten minutes below 4000rpm on the extremely rich factory needle settings, then it is time to set HS and LS needles. You should peak the HS and then back it off a click or two, then lean the LS at idle very slowly until the engine rpm increases and then begins to die, back it off an 1/8th of a turn or so, set the idle to a reasonable level and you should be good to go. Make sure and use a tachometer to make the HS adjustments and go very slow when making the LS adjustments. Patience is key, it may take one or two full turns on the LS. Good luck and have fun.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
So then you recommend removing at least one? Why do they come with shields if they are lubricated better without them?

I'm replacing the bearings on a FA-82 and I read in an article to remove at least one of the shields on the rear bearing to allow for better lubrication, is this correct?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
I was taking a short cut by trying to lean the LS out first thinking I could fly with it and then come back and lean the HS for more power{WRONG}. By leaning the LS first the HS had to be ran rich just to get average power. Although the LS and HS are at opposite ends of the curve they have a direct correlation and the order in which you adjust them is absolutely critical. Lesson Learned!!!

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
You were right on, I was taking a short cut and leaning my LS before I had peaked my HS just to get an idle to fly. I reset both needles back to factory and did it properly this time and all is good. I learned a valuable lesson, always set the HS first! Thanks Club Saito #514

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Yes, I have adjusted the LS. There has to be some kind of range for the HS, does 2.5 turns sound like Im in the ballpark? What RPM should I be able to get with the 14*4W?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Thanks for the reply. I started at four turns and about 8K rpm, at about three turns and 8700 rpm I set the LS and flew it for about a gallon, now i'm at about 2.5 turns and 9200 rpm and it's still spitting fuel out like a spigot but another click on the HS drops the RPM to 9000. I'm running an APC 14*4W prop, what RPM should I be able to achieve, do I need to keep leaning the HS? Club Saito #514
