RE: Source for Scale Accessories
Are there any plans for 1/6 scale instruments.? The reason I ask is that for twin engine bombers 1/6 scale is still within a reasonable wingspan. Plus with all the 1/6 scale pilots out there there is some interest. I look forward to your reply. Tero T in Toronto

RE: Fliteskin ME 109F build thread
Happy New year to all! Thanks for posting those weights on the Glennis Me-109 wheels. The Fliteskin is a 1/4.9 scale plane I believe. I have two of the CMP F models which is closer to 1/5.3 scale. What is the diameter of these wheels made by Glennis.? I had a set of his original Me-109 wheels in the late 90's and the tire appeared to be cast out of solid silicone. Solid wheels but heavy. I like his products but if he could advance the tires to some of the new foam technologies it would be outstanding. I did some weight comparisons myself on a number of 1/5 ranging wheels and hope this helps as well. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7818487/mpage_62/key_/tm.htm Best Regards Tero T in Toronto

RE: Source for Scale Accessories
Thank-you Ramstein! I also have plans to build a 1/6 JU-88 and I have been procuring some of the CD's off of ebay that have instrument panels for a number of different aircraft that can be printed out. For my standoff scale models these are perfect but if I want to get a bit more detailed then the Iflytailies are superb. The fact they will come in 1/6 is perfect as all my twin builds are in 1/6th scale. The ebay ones are found here http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Bf109-Messerschmitt-instrument-panel-CDkit-Aviation-Art-/110795492435?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19cbed0c53

RE: Source for Scale Accessories
I see that Iflytailies has a 1/5.33 scale Stuka panel. Has there been any thoughts of doing a 1/5.33 Me-109 F,G2or G6 panel ? I have two CMP-109's on the go. I have purchased the Inzpan 109 assembled panel but it is too large at 1/5 scale. They are truely works of art. As well I noted the 1/6 scale instruments for the first time. Will 1/6 German instruments be in the mix at some time in the future? Thanks in advance . Regards Tero T in Toronto

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
Here is a youtube video of a custom 1/5 scale me-109 designed and built in Finland. There is a shaft extention on the motor allowing the head of the motor to be in the lower chin scoop. The designer built a 1/5 scale version and a 1/4 scale. I believe if my eyes are correct this is the 1/5 scale. I owned one of his handful of kits way back in the 90's but due to work never got to finish it and sold it( much regrets) . Anyhow I have two cmp's on the go in the shop. RE: KMP / YT Me 109 E Build Thread
Nice wheels Casey! I have owned some of the original Glennis Me-109 wheels back in 2000 or there abouts. May I ask what is the weight of these current wheels and diameter. Is the tire solid silicone or skin with foam interior. Definitely adds a new dimension in looks to the bird. Thanks for posting. Tero T in Toronto

RE: Fliteskin ME 109F build thread
You guys are doing a great job. I am hoping to procure this kit in the not too distant future. Quick question to the experts on the Me-109. In the cockpit adjacent to the pilot attached to the cockpit wall is a leather strap. This is on the left wall above the trim wheels. What was held in this strap?. I see this in most cockpit pics of the Me-109. Is it for the flare pistol? Thanks in advance.. Tero T in Toronto

RE: Fliteskin ME 109F build thread
I asked a friend of mine on Gallands aircraft and he sent some information from Prien's book book "the Messerschmitt 109 f,g & k, Ill Hist. by schiffer. on page 55, he says Gallands 109 F-2 was modified with wing MG FF/M cannons, at his request. This was not a 109 F-6/U, which was never produced. Th F-6 was to have been built on a Oct 40 directive for 1281 a/c but this didn't happen. A F-8 series of 1112 a/c were to have been built in Mar 41, same applies. The w.nR. of Gallands plane was 6750, WNF built in a batch of 172 a/c , Jan to Apr 41 Tero T

OK let me check . Could be it was more. At my age everthing is shrinking . I know it is expensive for larger items. When I purchased the last OV-10 from Kondor (KMP)I had it shipped to a friend in Toledo and picked it up in April when the Toledo model show was on. Tero T

Hi P40-k! Just to let you know that AKM models does ship to Canada. Nitro would not. The CMP is close to the size limits and is possibly why others are unwilling to ship . If I recall correctly it was a about $60 to ship to TO. Alex at AKM was super. Tero T

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
Hi Joe! Actually I hope to get to this completed this month. I hope . Just started a new position and have to travel to Montreal starting this week . This might be something Ty Brown could entertain as he already has a similar set up with his 80-81 inch setup . I followed his method of the landing gear plates. I would like to help out anyway I can but this new position is going to eat up a lot of my spare time. If Ty could reduce the scale for his existing design to fit the CMP 109 then this would be an excellent source for spare wing kits . People would purchase this as a primary wing if is resolves the landing placement issue. If Ty is reading this maybe he can offer this option/and or opinion. Lets see how this month progresses. Will be in touch. Regards Tero T

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
Thanks LDM! yes I spoke with Ty on his plane will be looking at that this year. I have currently taken apart the CMP wing and am drawing up a center section made of laser cut ply parts that put the landing gear mounts into the correct position . As well I will be cutting some foam outer wing panels. I realize fully that the CMP is a great buy but it bothers me that they could not go that extra bit to make the landing gear positioning correct. Maybe those distributors here in North America can converse with them so that subsequent versions are more realistic. Tero T

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
Thanks Steve! When I get to the point where I need the static prop I will contact you to make a purchase. Much appreciated. I had the Dave Platt static prop but sold with my engine contraption.. The 1/5 scale fiberglass kit I sold into the U.S was made by a very interesting designer in Finland . He only made a handfull but they were immaculate. Even the scale prop was functional and he molded them himself out of glass filled nylon. I traded him a yellow aircraft spitfire and shipped it to Finland to get his limited kit. Here is some pics of his fiberglass fuselage. Again if someone knows its whereabouts I would be interested in buying it back. Tero T

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
Thanks for the Soloprops site. Somehow missed that one altogether. Attached is a pic of a shaft extension project I did in 1995 for a ST-3000 for a 1/5 scale ME-109 . This put the engine in a more scale configuration on the aircraft with the inverted ST3000 head in the chin cooling pan of the plane. I used another front bearing housing for the ST-3000 and had a housing machined to cover a flex coupling to which the engine was attached. There was a Bisson muffler dumping exhaust up (Via the green silicone pipe) to the main support beam which is hollow and then re-routed the exhaust to scale exhaust stacks on the plane. Anyhow to make a long story short my son was born and my hobby took a back seat for 15 years , sold the plane and engine into the U.S somewhere and thats that. But I do love the ME-109 and have two of the CMP's I am working on now . Tero T in Toronto PS if anyone out there knows who might have this and the plane I would be interested in contacting that person. Thx

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
My calculations based on wingspan bring the scale to 1:5.4 but I have read the fuselage is a bit larger and not in proportion to the wings so I need to do some more digging myself unless someone has that information. Tero T in Toronto

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
Hi Ty! Im good for another one or two of the new design. It would definitely make for a faster change over from a static prop to a flying prop. What size center hole and bolt size are you planning for the cone mounting screw.? The reason I ask is that I am planning to have a new prop adapter made for the E-flight 160 motor . I am using the four screw mount and have discussed this morning with a CNC machining company to make a new adapter with a longer shoulder (about .5-.75 inches longer) this would allow the motor to sit behind the existing Me-109 nose bulkhead and project through the existing hole and to mate to your spinner which has about a 3/8 undercut on the back spinner plate. I will have an internal thread put into the tip of the threaded shaft for the spinner cone. This company(owned by an R/C modeller) has a lathe with milling attachments so all the machining is done once set up so this will hopefully prevent any of slightest misalignment. Tero T in Toronto

Hi Ty! Great looking P-40 cockpit . I will have to send some pics of my 109 cockpits I purchased from you. If the ESM P-40 is the B model have you considered making a Hawk 75A (p-36) radial cowl mod. It would be an awesome mod . Just a suggestion . Wink Wink nudge nudge !! lol All the best . Tero in Toronto
