RE: Dynatron Starter Battery Selection ??
I am still trying to decide if a Life (lithium iron) batt would be best 7 cell, or just get two garden tractor batts at Walmart. The Walmart option would be about 80-100 bucks while the 7 cell Life option would be about $160. The Life batts are safer but don't they have a minimum voltage too? Really confused ... please help.

RE: Dynatron Starter Battery Selection ??
My point is that I think I damaged it by drawing it too low in voltage ... not sure I want to return to lipos at all because of this problem. Thoughts on that being a correct theory and conclusion?

Dynatron Starter Battery Selection ??
I recently purchased a Dynatron starter to turn over my US41cc in my Stinger. I got a 6 cell lipo (5000 maH, 6 cell Turnigy) to power it. It worked great for a while, then one day I was charging it and it puffed up ... big time. It scared me so disposed of it at my local battery warehouse who recycles. My thought is that I might have damaged the battery by drawing down the voltage below the minimum (I was using the starter really hard while getting the US41cc adjusted ... I was having carb tourbles so I was using the starter a ton ... so much so it got hot to hold a couple times). I am thinking maybe the best bet is to get two 12v garden tractor batteries and wire them in series to avoid these lipos and the potential damage. I need 24v for the torque to start the US41cc. Thoughts?

RE: SPAD Sickle with pics
I think it might need right thrust ... I have none right now. I think the wing is pretty straight. My GNAT is horrible when it comes to trim, but I guess you can't expect much from plastic. However I have a SPAD Diamon Dust that goes 90+ mph and it is perfect with regard to trim .... Maybe it is the design ... maybe it flexes too much ???

RE: SPAD Sickle with pics
Just built a Sickle and flew it for the first time this weekend. I have a GMS .25 on it. It flies pretty fast and I like the plane but I can't seem to keep it in trim. When at 1/2 throttle it pulls to the right and at full throttle it seems to pull to the left. Any suggestion?

RE: new US 41cc
I did know about this so I tried to get it correct. It may be a few degrees off. Is the proper way to have the flywheel magnets at 6 o'clock with the prop at 9 and 3 o'clock?

RE: SPAD Diamond Dust
I can see bubbles in the tank ... so I think the fuel lines are fine. I think it is vibration or too much pressure fromt he pressure tap of the flow-through muffler.

SPAD Diamond Dust
I have a SPAD Diamond dust I am setting up. It has a K&B 40 with a flow-through muffler that is strapped on. The problem I am having are bubbles form in the tank and then it makes the running of the engine inconsistant. How can I prevent the bubbles? Is it coming from too much pressure from the muffler? Vibration? (the tank has foam around it but is tie wrapped to the plane). Help please.

RE: new US 41cc
The engine is brand new, less than 2 tanks run through. The prop is 18x10. 87 octane fuel, 32:1 lawboy ashless oil mixture. I did not use a tack for the high speed needle, just richened it until it ran smoothly.

Does this thing need several tanks run through it at idle before I can set the needles properly?

Yep, I thought that too. Too lean right? So I tried turning it out (counter-clockwise) and it did not seem to help. I wonder if somethings wrong with my carb?

new US 41cc
I am a newbie to gas engines but have been flying RC glow and electric for some time. I am trying to set the needles for my new US 41 cc engine. I have gotten it to the point that it run good at the high end (full throttle) and will idle, but the problem is it dies every time I try to increase the throttle from idle to go to full throttle. I am running 87 octane with 32:1 oil mixture (lawnboy ashless). I have tried numerous needle combinations and have not been able to hit the sweet spot. Please if anyone could give me some adivse. Thanks.

Ultra Stick 120 Original CG ??
Can anyone tell me what the CG is for the original Ultra Stick 120 (the heavy one) ? I am refurbishing one and need to know where to set the CG. I heard it might be 4 7/8 inches behind the leading edge of the wing ... is this correct?
