RE: R/C paintball tank!!!!!!!!!
Well, it'll need to be electric for stealth. As for electronics, get ones big enough to torque around a gun and hold up to the watts that will run through it. I can make a 360 turret while still having a single reciever. The only catch is that it can turn 360 only once, then it has to start turning the other way(to prevent ripping a cord out). Basically, all your electronics(except the motor) would be INSIDE the 360 turning part of the turret. The motor wires would go through the floor of the turning part in the center of the floor(that way the cord will just twist around as opposed to moving on the perimeter of the turning part of the turret). The way the turret itself will rotate is by having a large gear around the perimeter of the turret and linking another motor with a pinion attached to it to the large outer gear of the turret.(like this-> o[size=6]O[/size] basically). And all you have to do after that is connect all the electronics up and go to town and you will have a rotating turret equipped tank. As for making a system for holding the gun, good luck, try modding a PVC gun stand

RE: Reliable setup?
I was thinking about getting one of those airfoilz planes. The edge 540 one seemed like a good hardcore 3D plane. I also was looking at flat foamies, but I can't find any that look durable enough to withstand very high G manuevers like blenders and walls(which is what finally killed my flatana). I might scratch build another flat foamie and just get better electronics. I don't know...

Well I'm mainly looking for a setup for a 36" span 3D plane. I might be getting into indoor 3D though since it's really windy here in Florida...

Reliable setup?
Hey guys, I'm on my 3rd re entry into the hobby and I want to get a good 3d setup that is actually reliable. I have had extremely bad luck in the past and I am looking for a fresh start from scratch. So wat is a good rx, ESC, motor, prop, etc for a reliable 3D setup. I want to get a no maintenance, reliable computer radio as well.

i did send it back to them...twice...and the second one broke after a week...I just want the simple convenience of being able to use the stock controller for the game. I dont like using my own radio with all the freakin cords I have to use(the battery on my DX6 has a life of 5 seconds and I have to leave the charge cord in it and I have the cord running from the controller to mine, which is nionreliable at best...). I just want to be able to use the stock controllerfor the game. that's it...why do they have to make this so hard???

RE: My first foamie
Personally, I hate Flatouts due to their fragile nature and crap design, but watever. I hope you have a lot of fun with your Flatout. They can fly in as tight of a space as you want them to. But a field 200x200 ft would be nice to trim it out in.

RE: 3rd plane?
Well it all depends on your skill level. Did you crash your Cub a lot? If you did, get a simple to control plane like a GWS beaver. If you have progressed in skill where you can fly as hard as you want and not crash, then you can get a hardcore plane like an E3D. A good 3rd plane would probably be a nice aerobat like a flat foamie or a zagi. Both are very fun to play with!

RE: why don't many people fly 4d?
actually there are specific airplane designed VPP systems. They are basically just the tail rotor setup on helis adapted to a plane. As for collective pitch control on the vpp, it is done but hooking it with the throttle, like the idle up system on 3d helis(which i used to fly). So VPP is almost exactly like inverted flight with helis with idle up on full. From the 4D plane I flew, there does not seem to be a throttle for the motor, but the pitch of the blade is determined by the position of the throttle stick. Stick all the way back is full reverse. stick all the way forwards is full forward pitch. And anywhere else is any other pitch. It's a good system which eliminates the need for switch throwing. Hope this helps!

RE: why don't many people fly 4d?
3D flying- High alpha flying done with the use of 2:1 power ratios and ridiculous control throws. Maneauvers such as hovering, harriers, blenders, rolling harrier circles, waterfalls, etc 4D flying- flying backwards, backwards flat spins, nose down hover, etc done with the use of a variable pitch prop(VPP) with a special motor rig to allow power direction forward AND backward

RE: 3D home made
50-60cm? That's a little small for a 3D'r but ok. I think [link=http://www.unitedhobbies.com/UNITEDHOBBIES/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9203&Product_Name=Piaget_Micro_3D_plane_EPP_Kit_w/_Motor_&_ESC]this[/link] Might suit your needs. [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/yak_55_aerobatic_3d_profile_airplane_red_black_airplane_7001_prd1.htm]I have heard lots of great things about this plane too.[/link] If you don't like those, a suitcase plane might be a good idea considering you want it in a flat pack. Any 400 size outrunner and 25 amp speed control with 1200-1900 mAh li po batteries should do fine. A great charger to get is the Triton. I love mine and it is well worth the money!
