RE: looking for high quality plane to start with.
I was watching videos of the slowstick and I think I may have to mark it off my list because it looked a little hard to keep it in the air (I live in florida so their's almost always wind. So it's between the magpie and the sig, I'll have to take my time and narrow them down (and I will also check the priceof the replacement parts). I haven't been able the find any videos of the magpie. I like the Sig Kadet Seniorita.

RE: looking for high quality plane to start with.
When I say high quaility I meant something good and stable to learn with (defenitly something slow), the slow stick and the slow flier both look like good starter planes, the sig also looks good (really high quaility) but I'm not so sure about balsa now. I'm really going to have to get on youtube and watch and narrow down the good points and bad points of each. I forgot to mention that I also have a name brand lipo charger (I fight 3lb robots and for my hpi blitz).

RE: looking for high quality plane to start with.
I finally bought a radio Spektrum DX7 and a orange rec. But I am still in the market for a plane under $100 with good part's support , could even be a Hobbyking.

RE: 1/10 4wd buggy value. Is there one?
I would like to get a tamiya eventually. maybe a df-2. Is sparrow hawk a good brand Ive never really heard much about them before. I don't have a brama but it's good to hear an opinion on it.

RE: Traction?
I thought about adding a little weight to my rustler and maybe adding some length to it to but I just sold it instead.

RE: Traction?
Well the main problem is that it is a traxxas and traxxas does not give you the option to add rear toe in also it's not long enough. I had the same problem with my rustler vxl it would only wheelie's and 360's uncontrollably. I sold the rustler and put the vxl in my blitz and it runs strait and handles well.

RE: Associated B4.1 or 10 year old Bandit + $250 in upgrades
Traxxas will never be as race worthy as AE Hpi Losi. Traxxas rc's really handle like toys more than hobby grade rc's.

If you buy a off brand nitro it will most likely end up in pieces in a box. Buy a name brand electric and lipo. hpi ae losi

RE: Need Advice Coming back to rc cars after 10+ years
Here's the lipo I have it's a 2 cell lipo 2s 7.4 volts and it has 5200 mah you have full power till right at the end when it all drops off at once. I thought that I only wanted nimh till I bought my first lipo and I was amazed I used to carry 7 nimh batteries now I carry 1 lipo. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=14991 Here's the lipo that I'm using in my hpi blitz with a vxl system not the best system I really don't car for traxxas much anymore I get around 45-50 min with this setup. I recomend buying a name brand battery charger with an ac cord I use this charger http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=dynamite+passport&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=2rK&rls=org.mozilla I bought it used for under $40 and you could buy a cheap low voltage cutoff or buzzer from hobbyking or somewhere. I store my lipos in a metal ammo box just to be safe.

RE: Need Advice Coming back to rc cars after 10+ years
Lipo is really the way to go you can get 45 plus mins with a lipo under $30. just buy an external lipo cutoff or a lipo voltage buzzer you can get one under $10

RE: Need Advice Coming back to rc cars after 10+ years
I think the old bandit looks better than the new one. You could get a brushless system and lipo for your old bandit. Or you could go with a different company and get a Hpi Blitz or something good like that.

RE: Two-speed Auto tranny for electric Motors?
Seems pretty pointless to turn your motor in to a gearbox motor before you put it on your tranny (the real gearbox)

RE: Ready to buy, quick question first...
The vorza is awesome I really want one . There's no comparison between the vorza and the slash. I would pick the vorza and go lipo, and forget about traxxas. You may want to consider the HPI Blitz it's great to bash and more competitive than the slash 2wd.

RE: Ready to buy, quick question first...
The traxxas 2.4 ghz radios are fine unless you want to spend 200 to 300 on a high quaility radio.

RE: Electric vs Nitro: Racing for a Beginner?
Traxxas (for the most part) Sucks for racing If you get a bandit , rustler , stampede , You will never be competitve no matter how good you are at driving. Check out the HPI Blitz Or something that you can race like that, You can also bash the blitz. Just add your own brushless system.

RE: contemplating BL and, possibly, lipo
I wouldn't pay 180 for a ezrun 150amp . Ive seen the castle systems put in blitz's and they run good and stay cool on 3's. Castle's my next step after my vxl breaks.

RE: Electric vs Nitro: Racing for a Beginner?
A cheap Lipo battery will give you 45-60 min of runtime a $30 lipo. A tank of nitro will give you 12-14 min of runtime. Electric just plug and play, and depending on your brushless system you can go as fast as you want. Nitro, you have to tune and maintain the same amount of time you use it you use it, and you also have to buy glow plugs, air filters, after run oil, glow igniter, pull starters, clutches.

RE: Electric vs Nitro: Racing for a Beginner?
Most likely you won't be able to run nitro indoors like on that track. Short Course racing is pretty popular. That being said I have a HPI Blitz and love it, and I bought mine rtr with a coupon on tower hobby for $150. So you can get into racing under $300 You may want to buy a used electric rc and a name brand used lipo charger I have a dynamite lipo charger, and a turingy lipo from hoobyking, but just make sure that you keep your lipo in a ammo can when your not using it. You can probaly get a used HPI Blitz for under $100.

RE: Duratrax Evader EXT2???
Well it all depends if your set on the stadium truck. I used to have a few evaders one with a vxl system and they are a decent trucks you can adjust them more than the rustler "I would stay clear of the rustler and traxxas for the most part". My evader handled better than my ruster, and if you wanted to eventually race the evader would be better than the rustler in that way to, and the part's warranty on the evader is also tempting. But you may want to consider a kit or a almost ready to run, or possibly a used roller, since you already have a brushless system. Just my 2cents Now brand wise from my own experience I would say Hpi are good bashers and racers , I have a blitz. Ae are mainly just for racing Now I don't have any experience with tamiya's but people seem to like those to. Maybe someone else has an other idea that they could throw your way.

RE: ****NEW TRAXXAS RC TRUCK****
Traxxas spends to much on advertisement and not enough on development. I feel that you can make a car that can bash but also that can handle well enough to race and I don't see traxxas doing that with much of thier stuff. I run a vxl system not because I like traxxas just because I got it under 40 bucks.

RE: Redcat sc8
I would not buy it I already had a redcat and it was a brittle piece of crap. You should look into the HPI Blitz I have a ready to run and I added a brushless system and a lipo and I get 45 min. of run time on 1 battery and I havent broken a part yet.

RE: ****NEW TRAXXAS RC TRUCK****
It need's solid axles, 4wd . I'm just thinking like krazy chicken. And also not made by traxxas, "They already have one it's called a hpi wheely king.
