RE: 1/8 P&W Wasp kit, trade for Tiano radial
Here's a couple of pics of a Tiano Radial 1/5 scale , I've yet to see a Aerotech radial , But like the ones from Frank Tiano. I'm presently building a 1/4 scale Williams for a friend, I modifyed the Crankcase on the Tiano, with half of an Easter Egg. I thought of doing a build thread of the 1/4 scale williams , It's not too late yet . 51-D GUY .

RE: Locked up parts?
I don't see how that can be accurate , How are they able to rust all six test subjects with an equal ammount of sieze , Therefore , the different torque values for each rusted bolt/nut to break loose. ? regardless of X, Y, Z, brand of penetrating oils. just my $0.02 on that . 51-D GUY.

RE: giant top-flite p-51 mustang
I'll agree with all that , all i was saying is that an engine will produce more power if its fuel type was Nitro , rather than Gas . I was not recommending this , nor would i want to do it my self, regardless of it's displacement , I also agree that a gas engine is the way to go for the aircraft in the original post , you said , that going gas would have more power , all i am saying that what ever size / make engine that were to be used , it would have more power on glow fuel , would i do it , No , But i have seen it done , in a twin powered race Mustang , that's all i meant , Sorry , if it sounded more than that .

RE: giant top-flite p-51 mustang
In answering the Question , YES , the 3500 is enough power , & Zeeb , a 35 cc engine on glow fuel is going to make alot more power than a 35 cc on gas , Size for size , Glow always will produce more power even in the engines you have mensioned . 51-D GUY.

RE: Great Planes P51D
I had one years ago , Was my first kit build , i built it with fixed gear , then later i added a set of Dave Brown retracts , robart struts , & a retractable tail wheel , also sheeted over the open bays of the wing , I cannot say what it weighed , But it did fly very well with a O.S. 40 SF , I think you should be ok , it's a great flying model , 51-D GUY.

RE: Clearcoat over Basecoat - Question
I used Dupont paint on this aircraft , I did'nt scuf the paint prior to applying the clear , somewhere around a weeks time between shooting the base coat & clear , just how are you supposed to apply your graphics that go on before the clear , over wet paint ? anyway , it's going on four years now & no problems !

RE: Byron Mustang
Hello MtnFlyer14, Here's a pic of the drawing that shows the spar , It's not the convensional spar we think of , as in most kits " from root to tip " on the Byron 51 wing the spar runs from the root, to the first " Inboard " Rib , If your wing is built per this , & glassed per the instructions , No Worries ! Hope this Help's 51-D GUY.

Hi Marvin , Yes i have no problems with getting in contact with Iron Bay over the past years , It's been a year or so since i have placed an order, But i've been told by a very reputable source just recently, that they are taking orders over the phone , They could have been closed as a result of the past Holiday also, I would try again with the call , Jason. 51-D GUY
