RE: What is this?
Definitely not a P-7 or vertigo. no chin, blended canopy/no shoulder lines, and tail is all wrong for either. The wing doesn't match either.

RE: What is this?
It's not a Saturn. Nose and wing look more Nutcracker but the vertical stab is raked back like earlier pattern designs.

RE: Building a Tiporare .40
Some random thoughts i had looking at pics. I recommend wearing gloves working with lead sheet as lead can be absorbed through skin. The nose steering tiller will need to be a smooth shaft instead of threaded.

RE: My Wood & Foam Bridi UFO Build
Have you accounted for radio install, rud an elev pushrods, tank position (closer to cg would be better), landing gear (in retracted position), covering/paint, weight of pipe aft of cg etc. There are way too many things to consider. Deviating from the plan may end up backfiring on ya. Were only talking 4.5 grams on a short arm. I'd add that just gluing the the tail together. LOL. For the nose, a thin spinner ring shim won't change the curve enough to matter. I imagine your going to sand the final contour to spinner anyway.

RE: My Wood & Foam Bridi UFO Build
I'm with pitstop's opinion on this. I believe its gotta be the expanding glue causing differences in adhesion and dry rate. I never had a problem like this with epoxy or the ultimate IMHO - Dave's Southern's Sorghum. The Sorghum is hard to find now, does anyone know of a similar contact cement?

RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
Chuck, i have great respect for your experience and contribution. I knew that you were mixing up the pics. Please, no apology needed. I just wanted to avoid confusion for others reading here. Having said that: I'm still confused as to why the glass fuses in the pics are different. Hoping to learn more about the history of that design. Maybe i'll start a new thread so as not to veer off topic. Also, very curious about the 2nd and 3rd pics. It has real nice lines. Looking fwd to learning more about that too.

Are there 2 models named Atlanta? That fuse is clearly different than the zigsaw model pic below which doesn't have as much rake and has the extended fwd wing fillet.

RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
Referring to the planes in the first pic, post #355. ''(lavender or purple and white plane)''. I'm sticking with an Atlanta. Note the combination of MK look, inverted engine, mid swept wing, and most important the extended forward wing root fillet.

RE: Engine For Kwik FLi Mk. III
That wheel cleaner did an impressive job. Most would call it done at this point. After a very light blast, i would coat the parts in a good corrosion inhibiting penetrating oil such as ACF-50 or CorrosionX etc.

Nice solder work - worth noting. Can ya rotate that cap and grommet 180 degrees so the lines are on the upper side or maybe on the left side?
ORIGINAL: AllTheGoodNamesAreTaken Looking great! You might want to bend that brass tubing toward the hole in the firewall so that fuel line doesn't split from the sharp edge of the tubing.
RE: My Wood & Foam Bridi UFO Build
That warp is pretty bad. They will definitely affect flight characteristics similar to washin/out. Not to mention the aileron hinge line isn't straight and will have all kinds of problems there. Ya shoulda scrapped them from the start. Never too late to start over[:D].
