RE: Patch for Mac AFPD
Hi Mike The replacement USB interface cable arrived today from Ikarus - thank you for you help with this. Unfortunately when I connect the cable and open AFPD it ask me for the product key. I entered the product key on the original DVD and it says: "ERROR (60224) This product key has already been registered" in red and will not let me proceed further. Does this now mean I need a new product key or a new DVD? I'd be most grateful for you advice Thanks Simon

RE: Patch for Mac AFPD
Hi Mike I received an invoice from Ikarus today for 37.40 Euros for my USB interface cable. Surely I shouldn't have to pay for this as the original one supplied by them was faulty/an incorrect item. Please could you advise as to how I should proceed as I've already paid a lot of money for something which doesn't work. Thanks Simon

Mike I shipped my USB interface cable to Ikarus 10 days ago and haven't heard anything yet. Do you have any idea what their turnaround time is? Thanks Simon

RE: Patch for Mac AFPD
Hi Mike I bought an Ikarus cable as suggested and have checked that my radio is in PPM - still no luck. Could it be that I need the new style usb interface cable ? Cheers Simon

RE: Patch for Mac AFPD
Mike. Sorry for that. I purchased the AFPD Mac from Pegasus Models in Norwich UK. The box only contained the buff coloured USB cable. The black Futaba adaptor cable was purchased separately from the same shop. Cheers Simon

RE: Patch for Mac AFPD
The link is:      http://www.aerofly.com/afpd/downloads.html The downloaded patch is definitely 1.11.07.29 but when I checked the upper right corner of the screen when the sim is open it gives version 1.11.07.31 !! I guess this means that it should now work with the USB link but sadly not! Hope the pictures work this time. Many thanks  Simon

RE: Patch for Mac AFPD
Sorry, me again! I've just been reading another thread where someone had a similar problem and you thought it was due to an old interface cable being supplied with the sim. Here's a photo of mine - is this the old one or should it work? Thanks Simon

The error message says "Aerofly Professional has located the USB interface cable but was unable to either find a transmitter connected to the USB interface or a joystick connected

Patch for Mac AFPD
I purchased the Mac version of AFPD yesterday and seem to be having the same problems as others on the forum with the software not recognising my transmitter (futaba). I have tried all of the suggestions to no avail including downloading the patch. All references seem to refer to the patch as 1.11.07.31, but the downloaded file is actually version 1.11.07.29. Is '29' the correct version or is there somewhere that I can download '31' as it's really frustrating not being able to use what looks like a fantastic sim. Any advice would be really appreciated Thanks

RE: Great Planes Big Stick 40
Hi, I built one of them 2 years ago for liquid fuel, but never got around to flying it because I quit my club. I have been meaning to look into electrifying it for quite some time now. Thank you for posting your experience. H.C.

RE: Weather Stink?, Favoritie Team getting Trashed?, Build a Burrito!!!!
not too shabby for my first try huh? It flies GREAT! I was doing harriers down the runway dragging the tail skid- never been able to do that before- great slow flyer- Paul- where do you have your cg? right now mine's on the spar- I didn't worry about the cg as I was putting it together and it balanced right on the spar! it seemed good there but I thought about moving it back a little- it did great flat spins and harriers though- flat spins with this plane are awesome- it just hung there spinning like hell- not gaining or losing altitude- thanks Alex

RE: Weather Stink?, Favoritie Team getting Trashed?, Build a Burrito!!!!
here's mine..... finished it up yesterday am and took it to the field to test- It trimmed out pretty easy but I did notice that I had to put quite a bit on up elevator into it ...... I think that the ailerons could be the cause of this- do you guys have the ailerons following the bottom line of the wing or neutral? I had mine neutral- All in all I am very pleased as this is the first plane that I have built and covered - It was a great feeling to build it, see it fly, and bring it down in one piece! Alex

RE: THE OMP KATANA ARF's HERE!!!!
I've already crashed my katana...... it's easily fixed.... if you want to get into all those little details there is always scale aircraft- Profiles are like trucks -they aren't for admiring, they are for flying and crashing- lol- ... you can't become too attached to them cuz you're gonna mess them up- and what the hell does it matter if there is a small hole in the le of your wing? that's so minor- I never even gave it a thought- I'm with the guys that say "less whining, more 3D"- Alex

RE: THE OMP KATANA ARF's HERE!!!!
I cut a small rectangular hole in the le of my wing and ran it in there- you have to drill a hole in the bulkhead to get it to the rx- but then you don't need any extensions and so forth and it's on the side opposite the exhaust- Alex

RE: OS 1.60 on GS Edge 540.......Problems......
Mike- I've heard that too..... I don't think that it was over heating as the first flight only lasted about 15-30 seconds- it acted like it was bogging down- I would run the throttle up and down but it just wouldn't clear out and then it would flame out- the clunk was all over the place in the tank when I was running it on the ground so I think that I will definetly go back and weight it really well to see if that might help the problem- I may also try another plug as my friend said that he had the exact same thing happening to him and he changd the plug and it ran great- I have also switched back to a synth. to castor blend- I hope this helps- I can tell that this plane is going to be a blast to fly once I get past this issue- Thanks for the feedback- Alex

OS 1.60 on GS Edge 540.......Problems......
I am having a problem with my OS 160- I can dial it in and run it with the plane sitting on the ground and nose straight up and the throttle transition is smoothe- both ways- then when I take off it loads up and goes out- This engine is on a Edge 540 Profile- I've checked the fuel lines and there are no cuts or anything like that- plus i would think that if it were a leak that it would lean out not load up- the tank seemed to be vibrating quite a bit and the fuel was foaming up a lot- and I am wondering if it wasn't sucking air from inside the tank.......I put foam between the fuse and tank- anyway, any hep that you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated- I'm dying to get this thing in the air! RE: THE OMP KATANA ARF's HERE!!!!
just made the maiden flight on mine- it took a little left aileron to trim out but that's it- this is the best small profile that I own- the YS 63 performed beyond my expectations...... what a power-house! all in all I am very pleased Alex

RE: OMP Profile Bipe!
I think that they are just trying to keep up with what people are asking for- I would say that they have had a lot of requests for arfs as they have traditionally been a kit company- I think that they might offer kits of these planes after they see some success- arfs will get the product out there faster and with more volume so you will get more feedback and many more opinions of the planes characteristics- jst my .02$ Alex
