RE: novus 125 cp: my first heli ever!!!:( help me!
Can you do both sides in? Where ever you are at in learning nose in try moveing the tail around a little farther each time. Hold it for a while then go back to tail in. Go in small steps to what ever you think your limit is and before you know it you'll have nose in mastered. Good luck.

RE: sig lil rascal~
I have the Rascal C with a OS LA .10. The LA .10 gives it plenty of power. Only problem is you can't get a very big fuel tank in it so flight times are short.

RE: FUTABA 6EX 2.4
Did you go into (I-TH) and turn idle up on, because it can be inhibited. I have the 6EX 2.4 on two 400's and it works fine in Idle up. However with throttle hold it uses the normal pitch curve.

RE: Engine Tuning Help
Are you useing a pressure line? If so make sure it's not restricted and the line doesn't have holes. On an engine without a pressure line it's very typical to run rich when the nose is pointed down and adds to the difficulty to tune it.

RE: What projects are you unleashing this spring
I put together a Thunder Tiger Mini Titan E325 SE. Hovered it in my grarge and outside a couple of times. Hovers good and seem like a real soild machine. Ready to take it to the flying field where I can really let it go. Also put together a Hirobo SDX. Still have a couple of small things to do on it yet.

RE: BATTERIES TAKING TOO LONG TO CHARGE!!!!
I use the Triton jr charger. For a 2000 mah pack that's used to 80% the normal time is about 85 min. I think the longest charge I have had is around 110 min. I also use the balance charge adapter.

RE: Holding a Transmitter
Some years back I read an article where they did a study on this. It was with airplanes though and the only thing that they concluded from it was that people that used thumb and finger had there controls set up more sensitive. Ever thing else was about equal. I have only been able to use thumb and finger with the right hand. With my left hand I can alternate back and forth depending what Im trying to do.

RE: Does this sound right ?
That is pretty strange. Should have your minumun pitch (0%) at the lowest stick position ( say -10 degrees). Zero pitch (50%) at mid stick position and maximum (100%) positive (say +10 degrees) at the highest stick position. Then adjust the percentages in the pitch curve of the radio to what you want to fly with.

RE: Radios, Helis and Basics - Documentation?
Where can I read about the basics of RC helicopters? How to build them, what parts are needed, etc... What radios are on the market and what are some of the better ones?
You will find a lot of imformation right here on RCU. Hang around, search the forum, and ask questions. You will learn alot right here. Most radios and electronics are very good quallity today. Like anything the more you pay the more features you get. Just make sure the radio has heli software and most people are going with the 2.4ghz systems.

RE: Heli Max MX450SX, Spinning outta control!
You need to remove all the trim on the Tx. Go back to zero trim on the Tx. Then place the gyro in rate mode. From there trim the tail by either moveing the servo or adjusting the linkage. Hover it and make adjustments. When you think it as good as you can get switch to head hold mode. If the tail still drifts you probably need to adjust the gyro gain.

RE: Axe CP NiMh battery troubles
It would be hard to believe after 7 more batteries and 2 chargers that the problem is either one. Sounds more like the ESC, motor, or the wires and connectors between them. What type of motor do you have.

RE: First Forward Flight >>> CPV3
I made an attempt to loop the CPV3 this week which wasn't successful. It was a little breezy and I had a hard time keeping it straight going into the wind. On the first attempt it just raised up a couple of feet and flipped over on it back. I managed to get it right side up in a short time so everything was ok again. On the second attempt it looked like it was going to do the same thing so I pushed the stick forward to get out of it real quick. Don't think it had enough speed. Not sure I had it at full throttle. I'll try again on a calmer day and make sure it's at full throttle for max speed and lift.

RE: What comes next, Traing Gears off or Forward Flight?
I think either way is OK to go with. I left my training gear on when I first did forward flight. If your heli is light the weight of the training gear will help stabilize it a little. It also makes it easier to tell the attitude of it. The differences are slight though. If you leave the gear on, after some forward flight you will want to take it off.

RE: First Forward Flight >>> CPV3
No I haven't loop any of then yet. Just forward flight with some figure eights and stall turns. The Axe 400 I did a tail slide one time. Couldn't believe how fast it came down out that. Glad I had lots of altitude for that one. The 50NX is not ready for flight yet only have hovered it. Haven't been able to get the motor tuned right yet. The 50NX is my first nitro heli so maybe I just don't know how to tune it right. The mid range is very rich. When adjusting the mid range to where it starts to lean out then the idle it way to lean. I hope the CPV3 loops better than the one on the sim or I'm in trouble. Which would be the easiest. A loop, roll, or flip?

This is the setup I have for my CPV3. 1:Right Servo 2:Front servo 3:E-board Connection 4:Orange Wire 5:Empty 6:Left Servo All four reverseing switchs are in the REV position. Hope this helps.

RE: First Forward Flight >>> CPV3
The CPV3 seems to be back to normal again. The problem with the servos jumping around mysteriously went away. I tried to isolate the problem but never did find anything. I've now taken the training gear off and made a couple of flights. Next I would like to try a loop before the flying season is over.

RE: WHATS AFTER HOVERING?
After you can hover both sides in move forward a short distance while side in. Then turn 180 degrees and move in the opposite direction. Work it into a larger figure eight and you are basically into forward flight. This will take a few practice sessions. Plus you need to get used to the heli being farther away from you.

RE: First Forward Flight >>> CPV3
Been haveing trouble with the CPV3. The servos are still jumping around. After changeing servos I thought things were good. Now there moveing around enough that it's almost uncontrolable to fly. I am thinking it's the receiver. It all started after it crashed it to the tree and stripped the gears in two servos. I'm thinking that when it stripped the gears that there was a lot of current drawn from the receiver and damaged it. Anyone else have the servos move around alot or have any ideas to what the problem could be.

RE: Axe CPV3- What you wished you knew when you got yours.
Took my CPV3 out to hover today and guess what happened. Ya the tail motor went bad. Started drifting left until it got so bad I new something was going wrong. Got it down on the ground. Then when I tried to start it again the tail motor just wouldn't go.

RE: Axe CPV3- What you wished you knew when you got yours.
I have bad mine since Oct 08 and haven't had the tail motor go bad yet. I usually let it cool some between flights. One time it didn't want to run. I fliped it by hand to get it going. Haven't had any trouble since. One thing the CPV3 is easy to work on and repair.

RE: T6EXHP and gy-401
One thing that's written in the gy401 manual is (Gyro sensitivity also changes with the length of the servo horn. When the sensitivity is too low, lengthen the servo horn. Conversely, when hunting does not stop, shorten the servo horn.) This is something you could try as you said in your first post that you used an inside hole on the servo wheel.

RE: First Forward Flight >>> CPV3
Got the CPV3 repaired and back together. When I test hovered it it started jumping up about 3 ft. then comeing right back down. Just kept going up and down. Almost uncontrolable. After looking it over I found one of the new servos wasn't centering right. So I swap the gears from the new servo to the old one. Everything was OK after that. Took it to the flying field today where theres no trees to get in the way. Things went good. Ran 4 batteries throught it. Tried some nose in hovering. Wasn't able to keep there very long. Kept it up high which made it harder to judge what it was doing. Just don't have the confidence yet to let it get low nose in, but I am getting more comfortable with forward flight.
