RE: Help with a BVM T-33?
Jim, you probably need the newer plans and booklet available from BVM for installation of these newer parts. Jim

RE: Making a one-off custom tank
Sean, I've made some A-7 tanks. I did not use kevlar, don't know that its really necessary. Kevlar does work just like regular cloth, but can be difficult to cut. I have Kevlar shears that I use, when working with it. I made foam plugs, covered them with Ultracote, then waxed and PVA'd them before covering with glass. I bought these rings from Todd: http://dreamworksrc.com/catalog/machined-fuel-tank-insert-p-1426.html And also bought the Sullivan stopper kit, this way I can open it up to clean, etc. Jim

RE: Ironman's new ride!
The aircraft now has several lights installed, one in Ironman's chest, one in each wing, one on the nose. The Arc Reactor located on top between the engines lights up only when the engine is running (how fitting!). There is an active EFIS display on the panel, although I never caught a glimpse of it. The paint is just ........... stunning.....to say the least. The airplane was re-maidened with some fairly windy conditions, but it went like clockwork. Great job Lance!

Ironman's new ride!
At the Missouri Valley Jet Scramble this weekend Lance Campbell unveiled his latest creation. Hard to believe this bird has over 700 flight on it, and we all new her as the F-15 painted in the Edwards scheme with the amazing smoke system. Now she has been completely stripped and repainted as ............. Ironman's personal ride! The work on this plane needs to be seen to be believed. Time for some photos. Jim

OK, makes sense. You don't have a photo of a plug do you? What I wonder is, do you remove the center part of the plug-where the wheel would go? Thanks!

RE: Stand alone brake systems?
Chuck, I have tried to get gear from Darrell at Sierra; he says he'll ship it right out, and then it never, ever shows up. I cancelled an order well over 1K with him because he just wouldn't deliver. Buyer beware. I hope things get better, he makes quality stuff. Jim

JetMach Sport 60 flies Great
I've had this one up and running for a short time now, on a Wren MW-54 engine, and its a joy to fly. The only bad habits are located behind the transmitter sticks. Thought I'd show a few photos in case anyone is contemplating a winter build. Hat's off to Bob at Laserdesign for a very worthwhile project! Jim

RE: Thorpe F-20 build
I had one with a .46 ICDF. I thought it was fast, had a great glide (since my engine always quit) and was fairly hard to see. I personally think Wren 75 is way too much power. Having said that, I'd like to do another someday with a 90 mm edf. Jim

Flying from Petromat runways
Can Turbines fly from Petromat runways, or does the exhaust heat damage the surface? Our club is looking into this product for some leased land. Also does the surface 'give' a little to help out on those not-so-perfect landings or is it hard as a rock? Thanks, Jim
