I'm gonna not going to give you the correct or best way to do it, but if it was mine i'd try electrical tape first.

RE: TRAXXAS SUMMIT
Sorry to confuse you I even confused myself when I read it. I meant I have that many on my list to buy. LOL But since you asked... I have absolutely no experience or knowledge with Tamiya products but... From what people say Tamiya Makes a very solid product. The main thing you have to worry about is part availability. Like I said with no experience I don't know for sure, but I believe most of there parts you'll have to get offline unless your LHS deals with Tamiya. I'm sure you can find cheaper prices and i know you can get cheaper models, but to give you an idea http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=58280 that is from what I've seen, their baddest MT model. Though that is a kit and will not include a Tx/Rx and other electronics. Like I said if you spend money before you know all your options then buy something, you're bound to find something better a month down the road that you're gonna wish you bought..it's very frustrating, Hate to keep throwing you for a loop. LOL Unless you want to build your first car i'd say Tamiya probably isn't the right route for you. P.S. Though not everyone is like me, I make sure I really want what I am buying. So decisions for me are always thought out probably more than most. A bit of advice though, you don't seem sure you even want the summit.
I hope the summit is a good truck for all around fun?
It wont hurt you to take a few solid hours and research every rc company you can and just make sure there isn't something better. By better I mean for you and what you think. Not what someone else thinks. Also I don't know if you have any LHSs but if you do I would recommend at least seeing the RC in person before you buy it to make sure it's what you really want. If possible that is.

Also very appealing price. Haven't had any problems with it at all. Have not charged Lipos on it though.

RE: TAMIYA
Well after much researching I found I could only narrow it down to 18. Though a few I could probably get away with getting one due to being build on the same chassis. DF03- Dark Impact, Avante, Keen Hawk..They all look very much alike and since I would be painting it myself I could just pick one of those. DB01- Durga, Baldre.. Same scenario as DF03 DT02- Neo Falcon is 4WD, Sand Viper 2WD.. So that's So those seven above are really only like 4 different cars. (Basically) Other Cars 4WD F150 4X4, Boomerang, Fire Dragon, Twin Detonator, TXT-1, Hot Shot 2WD The Frog, Subaru Brat, Hornet, Blackfoot Xtreme, Mad Bull So I guess it's down to 15. Any of these not worth the money?

Buy what you want to buy. Don't let other people tell you what to buy. I just wanted to make sure you had a good variety to choose from. I know myself that I have about 20 cars on my list of to buy. Then I found Tamiya and I have 19 of those I like(that's only offroad) LOL. Buy what you want and as many as you can! That's the whole fun of it!

RE: Etronix Probe 12T ESC
That sound to me like a safety feature with your car. Don't know what actually causes it if it's the ESC or whatever. I do know my RC18 does it too. It's so you don't burn up your gears. It's a delay to allow the car to slow down to switch from forward to reverse without causing alot of damage (wear and stress on the gears).

Tamiya Mini Cooper Body
I know it's 1/10 but, do you think it will fit on the 18R? Mini Cooper L 13.5" W 6.5" H 4.375" Largest 18R bodies I could find to compare. Nightline L 10.23" W 5.7" H 3.34" Muscle SS L 11.5" W 6.10" H 3.54" Still have to check on where the wheel wells would line up. Not worried about where body posts would line up.

RE: TAMIYA
Still narrowing it down. I'm down to 31. LOL that was just a quick look I'm gonna go more in depth on my next search. After searching for 2 hours and finding about 1/3 were discontinued, I am down to 19. Found a few built on the same chassis but not as many as I thought.

TAMIYA
So I have been looking and making a list of all the different RCs that I plan on buying. Until just recently I really didn't even look at Tamiya. Anyways so I buy 2 Q-steers based on some of the older Tamiya models. Now I see that I could have a grown of version of my little Q-steers (due to the remanufacturing of so many). So I search Tamiya's website for hours looking at all the offroad cars they have to offer. My question is... How do you choose? They have so many amazing looking RCs that it's really hard to even narrow it down to a select few. I see that some of the cars are built on the same platforms. Is this common with Tamiya? Do they build many cars and the same chassis? If so this could help me narrow down the search. Are there certain ones that were built at a higher quality? How do you know what ones are better? Everything I have seen on there website looks built pretty solid. Tamiya just has so many more models it's alot more overwhelming. When I do buy 1 if I can limit it to that I am definately getting a kit. There RCs are just so unique compared to the mainstream designs that everyone seems to be doing.(bodies and names of the cars) Any information on helping me undestand Tamiya better at all would be greatly appreciated.

RE: TRAXXAS SUMMIT
No I do not nor am I going to act like I own it. I have done ALOT of research and seen all of the ones I speak about run and held in my hands. If the crawling aspect of the truck isn't going to be used IMO it's not worth what they charge for it. But like I said it's all my OPINION. If he wants a basher I want him to be aware of the other options he has they may be better suited for him. There are way to many options out there to just settle for something because the way it looks. I am not trying to sell him on any truck just want him to know what is available for that kind of money.

RE: TRAXXAS SUMMIT
Well it goes for aprox $470-$500. The main thing that will effect if any of my info even matters to you is "IF YOU WANT TO GO NITRO". If you do there are many trucks that would be more suited as a basher for you. As you said money is not an issue. All I am saying is if you are willing to buy the Summit $500+ at least 2 batteries at least $70 + charger if you dont already have one at least $80= right around $600. You spend $670 and you can get IMO one of the baddest if not the baddest 1/8 MT the LST XXL. Or if you don't want to spend that much you have the Losi Aftershock $370, MGT 8.0 $490, MGT 4.60 $400, and the truck most people rave about the Savage 4.6 $430. just to name a few of them. But like I said none of this matters if your set on electric. Just wanted you to know there are other MT bashing options. Just would hate to see someone spend soo much money on something when they don't need to. The only reason that truck sells for as much as it does IMO is because it can be used as a crawler. And you said yourself that doesn't matter to you. If your stuck on electric though they do make an E-savage $340. Not sure how that compares to nitro or if there's even a big difference.

RE: 2.4ghz ?¿?¿
Ok well that makes things pretty simple. If I buy one I want something that will be completely functional with any RC i buy. So in that case if I get the MGT 3.0 I will buy the DX3.0. If I get something else I'll just wait and save up for it. Or hell if I win the lotto or save for a few years maybe I'll get the DX3S or DX3R. I sure the like the Rx pricers better for the tactic then I do for the Spectrum and Losi LOL
