RE: 80
This version is quite different from the MAN plans. The wing on my plans are in three parts (center with the fuse cabane) and with no dihedral. The cowl also is all wood. I found on Ebay another smaller, 1/6 scale 61" ws, plans and templates, supposed to be delivered today!

Check also this tread. It's a Sewell kit also and ended up with 11 lb. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9398400/anchors_9398823/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#9398823

5 lb is still fine for a .40 2S or .70 4S. Have pictures?

80" Pietenpol Air Camper
I just got the MAN plans for a Pietenpol Air Camper 80" ws, originally designed for a .91 four stroke engine. I am planning to convert it to a 60-90 size electric. I believe it will be a good conversion, but am afraid it will end up tail heavy. Did anyone tried this yet? Thanks.

Printing 1mm Depron
I am looking for a B size printer (11"x17" capable) for printing 1mm Depron. I saw the Canon PIXMA Pro9500 which seems to be a good choice. Anyone knows another printer ? Thanks.

RE: Charging 5S from 12V DC input
Thanks, guver. But makes sense to me that to charge a 18v battery using 12v input is complicated. That's why the manual says: "• For lithium based batteries rated at 11.1V or greater, the actual amount of current delivered to the battery might be reduced due to the charger’s maximum power limitation rating. Various circumstances such as battery condition, low input power, etc. can contribute to such a condition. This is normal." Thanks, again.

RE: Charging 5S from 12V DC input
The Manual says: "Notes about charging LiPo, Li-Ion, and LiFe batteries: • TritonEQ automatically sets the charge current based on the battery’s 1C rating. For example, if a capacity of 600mAh is entered TritonEQ will set the charge current at 0.6A (600mA). For a capacity setting of 2500mAh, the charge current will be set to 2.5A (2500mA), etc. • For lithium based batteries rated at 11.1V or greater, the actual amount of current delivered to the battery might be reduced due to the charger’s maximum power limitation rating. Various circumstances such as battery condition, low input power, etc. can contribute to such a condition. This is normal." Then, if using 5S batteries, better having 3 or 4 batteries charged at home. Or wait for 2 hours for charging at the field.[&o]

My Triton is the EQ. I am using the default charging rate and I read today it is possible to increase it. I will check the manual. Thanks[8D]

Charging 5S from 12V DC input
I just started using 5S (18V) batteries which takes about 1 hour to charge at home from 120V AC input. In the field, using 12V input, it is taking 2 hours to get charged. I am using a Triton charger which says it charges up to 6S. With 3S I can get the same charge time at home and in the field. Seems to me that using 12V to charge a 18V battery is the problem. Is that right? Thanks. Alex

RE: SR. Falcon Plans Build
Bax, the shear web adds tremendous stiffeness with very little weight. You can use 1/4" balsa vertical grain beteen spars in the center section (3 ribs each side) and reduce it for 1/8" balsa, vertical grain, for 3 more ribs. Between the remaining ribs to the tip you do not need to add shear web.

RE: SR. Falcon Plans Build
Very nice airplane. I built one 30 years as my first R/C plane. But today I would modify the wing using a D shape with spars, vertical web and sheeted leading edge. Just my 2 cents. This would be a good electric conversion also.

RE: CAD Parts Library
Here is how I would do it: Draw the root rib top half contour. Divide it in 12 equal parts (number each station starting with 0 to 12). Same to the tip rib. Connect root station 0 to tip station 0, station 1 to station 1, etc. Divide each of the connecting lines in parts representing each rib (if the ribs are equally spaced, divide in equal spaces). Trace the internal ribs connecting the points from station 0 to station 12. Hope this helps.[;)]

Help with Robart retracts
I am finishing assembling a H9 B-25 for a friend, who installed the Robart retracts. The problem is when the nose gear goes down, the main gear goes up. I checked for inverted lines but all connections seems to be according to the diagram!!!. Any ideas? Thanks, Alex.

Maiden flight! Very smooth, feels like a trainer with 5S. Surprisingly axial rolls, a real floater on landing.

RE: CAD Parts Library
Coosbaylumber, you are right, its hard to get those drawings from fabricators. I am just bringing some examples of thing we can have available, even not being the most recent model (I still have dozens of S-3004 servos in use). Engine 3-view drawings are very useful also to set firewall to nose ring distances, etc. A good thing would be a host web site for those files from where we could download them.

CAD Parts Library
I would like to bring the idea to have a CAD Parts Library, where we can share 3-View drawings, 3D models, etc. which we use to design an airplane. I was looking for a Saito 91 3View drawing, since the manual has only a very simple sketch. Unfortunately I couldn't find any. I already have some OS drawings in CAD format, a Futaba s3004 servo 3d model, 2.75" du-bro wheel 3D model, and other small parts. Any ideas?

RE: Extreme Kaos
I love the Super Kaos, and had almost the same ideas on your Extreme Kaos. Maybe I will build another, probably electric powered. The picture shows the Super Kaos which I baptized as Flipper. Webra 61 LS for power. Sold when I moved last time (miss that plane [:(])

RE: Maricardo 60 build
Now is covering time. I am insisting on using Monokote (still missing the old Monokote) but next project I will definitely switch to Ultracote. With the 25% enlargement, the distance between ribs went to 4" and was hard to work the Monokote to avoid wrinkles caused by the extra sag between ribs. For the top I had to create false ribs in between, with capstrips and it worked well. With some popsicke sticks I built the pushrod exits. Check it out!

RE: Maricardo 60 build
Cockpit is done, time to install servo tray, pushrods (usually I use nyrods on sport planes, but here I will use traditional balsa pushrods). The cockpit will be a little different from the original, since I decided to use balsa sheeting instead of clear acetate. I will cover the canopy with silver ultracote, finishing with black trim. Read that electrical tape makes a very nice trim also. Now some pictures... say cheeeze!!! [:D]

RE: Maricardo 60 build
Fuselage is almost done. Motor tested in place (without prop first [;)]). Next step will be the cockpit, on top of the wing. It has plenty of room for the ESC and battery (heavy, about 1 lb for 5C [:o]). Tested with a 14x8 prop the motor seems to be very powerful with 5C. With 1/3 throttle it turned my basement into a tornado, with balsa chips flying all over the place [:D].
