RE: Trex-600 for AFPD for Mac
Hi Matt, that's a pity, I don't have another one. Anyone out there who knows how to contact Patrick Libby?? Arthur BTW: I noticed, that there are 2 Versions of the T-Rex 600 available on Rc-sim. The 2nd one has jpg's with the right size (1024x1024), but maybe the jpg support is not available for the MAC version of AFPD. Therefore the same problem.

RE: Trex-600 for AFPD for Mac
Hi Matt, you should send an email to Patrick: wingnutpat (at) adelphia.net He used the following texture files: Trex600.jpg (1024x1024 bpi) Trex600II.jpg (1024x1057 bpi) Trex600III.jpg (2053x1740 bpi) and the preview file Thumbs.bmp (607x700 bpi). To get it to work all texture files should be 24-bit-bmp files with a size of 128x128, 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 bpi. The texture files are used for the 3-D model during the creation with e. g. MetasequoiaLE, therefore only Patrick can fix it! (The result of the conversion is the .tgo file, which cannot be edited.) The name of the preview file must be thumb.bmp and should have a size of 256x256 bpi! Regards Arthur

Workshop: How to your own models for AFP/D
Good news for all those who want to create their own models for the AeroFly Professional and AeroFly Professional Deluxe! I am just writing a workshop [link=http://ipacs-sim.com/user-sites/workshops1.htm]http://ipacs-sim.com/user-sites/workshops1.htm[/link] Please have a look at it and let me know your opinion! Best Regards Arthur (from Germany) Hi, I just updated my workshop. It's nearly completed now and you can see from A to Z what to do to get a new model. Good luck Arthur Hi guys, I just want to add another great site (in German language only unfortunately) of how to make photosceneries for AFPD by Robert Deutschmann http://www.mfv-marbach.ch/index.php/anleitung-erstellen-einer-szenerie Enjoy!..........Mike

Some information for those, who created user built airplanes for the AFPD using MetasequoiaLE R2.1a. Mike Holder from Argentina asked me the following questions and I asked Ipacs for the answers. Here they are: Will we still be able to construct models? Yes Will we still be able to use Metasequoia to do so? Yes, a converter will be available once aerofly 5 is in the market and when we have received enough user feedback in case of open issues. Will the equivalent of the TMD file still exist? Yes. The format changed a lot however it will be easier to set up models. Will our existing TMD files be useable in the new Aerofly? No Arthur

Hi Mike, I asked Dieter Fingerle for advice and he thinks, in all probability the A10 is created by Filipe Fonseca and José Campos (http://www.simviation.com/fs2002military16.htm). They create models for the FMS 2002. Best wishes Arthur

RE: New True Scale Model
ORIGINAL: mikehoulder Two or three of points today, Arthur. I'm finding it difficult to hold altitude using the throttle. Very little movement in the transmitter stick or joystick slider changes a steep climb into a steep dive. For instance, at full throttle with 1919 rpm the variometer shows a climb of +7. A very small reduction in the transmitter stick gives 1535 rpm and a dive of -5. I thought of using EXPO; but I don't think that will work. Can you suggest anything to map a wider range of transmitter stick movement to rpm, say from 1500 rmp to full throttle?
Hi Mike, May be it's a problem of the very high wingloading of the Tempete: 517 g/sqm (the Junior from the True Scale AddOn has only 416 g/sqm, but the same engine!) But one thing is curious: with my transmitter I have at full throttle about 2250 rpm and at half throttle about 1600 rpm (the Tempete needs about 1800 rpm for holding altitude). As far as I know it's not possible to have a wider range as you would like to have.
ORIGINAL: mikehoulderI don't understand what you mean when you say in your documentation "The engine has an electric starter and the engine exhaust gases are 'compacted'." Is this a reference to propeller pitch control?
The first one is only another type of sound. If you push the throttle stick forward very slowly it sounds like the engine would be started by an electric starter. The compacted gas means, that Hans Wonner has added two more engines in the tmd file and gave a displacement in z-direction to the exhaust parameters: ExhaustR = tmvector4r( -1.0000, 0.2000, -0.3700, 1 ) ExhaustR = tmvector4r( -1.2000, -0.2000, -0.3700, 1 ) That causes a higher exhaust density.
ORIGINAL: mikehoulderReading your TMD file, I see that both the propeller and the engine components have a mechanical link to a servo: ServoPitch and ServoThrottle. cd Propeller/ ... PitchControl = ~Aircraft/ServoPitch/MechLink cd Engine/ ... ThrottleControl = ~Aircraft/ServoThrottle/MechLink Looking now at the two servos, I notice they have the same input signal, Out(0). cd ServoThrottle/ ... SignalIn = ~Aircraft/Receiver/Out(0) cd ServoPitch/ ... SignalIn = ~Aircraft/Receiver/Out(0) Does this mean that the pitch of the propeller is changed as the throttle control is moved? Mike
I must say I don't know! I just used the engine and propeller parameters from the Junior, because the original has exactly the same engine! But i will try to get an answer to your questions. Regards Arthur

RE: Blue Angels in AFpd
Hi all, just go to the download section at [link=http://www.rc-sim.de/]Rc-Sim[/link] and search for f4-ba. You will find an AFPD version (a red one) and after downloading you have got a file called f4-ba-staffel.zip; unzip the file to the folder aircraft (using the option use folder names) and it works fine. I am using AFPD version 1.11.07.21. Normaly your full path will be: C.\Program Files\IPACS\AeroFly Professional Deluxe\aircraft After extracting the zip-file you should find a new folder f4-red-staffel in your folder aircraft. Please notice, that the file f4-j-ba.wav has to be moved from the folder aircraft to the folder sound! Otherwise you f4 formation will be very quiet [;)] Please read the file f4-ba-staffel readme.txt for learning how to use the special functions! An English description is included! Good luck and have fun with it! Arthur
