Graphite Chassis repair???
I got some graphite chassis from a trade. Dont know for which model they are for, so I am just going to mod and repair them for my Associated RC10B (gold pan). I normally use JB weld to fill holes and deep scratches. I ran out of JBweld and found some Bondo. Will bondo work with graphite?

RE: A question for all you Nitro people out there.....
There is the MIP 360 rear exhaust kit that I had for my RC10GT and my X-Factor has stock rear exhaust too. But you are correct, most of nitros I have, have a side exhaust.

RE: Do your neighbors know you are in
My neighbors knows I am into RC. I run both Nitro and Electrics, I fire up my Nitros from the backyard and run it to the streets or the park nearby. But I dont run it near the houses that much, only in the parking lot and on the streets. Most of neighbors are senior and dont want complains from them to the HOA. They have seen me few times and they think that its a cool expensive toy. My nitros are just as loud as the landscaping equipment used in our condo community, and they are right there next to our door and windows when they do landscaping at 9am. So I know how it can be annoying. One of them even asked if I can get them a good deal on a used one. There is this kid of my neighbor's, he would come out and watch when he hears my nitros running. I have an audience. My mailman knows, because I order parts on line - I found out he is also into RC.

RE: What is the definition of a roller?
ORIGINAL: The Collector1 So how can it be called a roller if it cant roll? It should be called a chassis set.
Makes sense to me! Common Defenition: by Wikipedia, Dictionary, Miriam Webster etc. roll·er/ˈrlər/Noun: 1. A cylinder that rotates around a central axis and is used in various machines and devices to move, flatten, or spread something. 2. Roller (machine part), a cylindrical machine component or a component of a roller bearing. 3. One that rolls or performs a rolling operation or activity.

RE: What is the definition of a roller?
By the trend of this thread, we can see that everyones definition of a roller is different. I could say that I agree that a roller must have wheels to roll, but some will dissagree with that statement. In my own opinion. I dont pay much importance to the defenition if an RC is a roller or not. When I look for stuff to buy, I make sure that the add or listing inidcates what is included or not. I dont assume that if its defined as a roller, then it will include wheels. I just ask what is included. When I put an add to sell, I define my rollers when they have wheels, if they dont, I would list which parts are included, and offcouse photos could explain a lot.

RE: Crazy Price for Rustler on Craigslist and Online
I did some research on this NovaTechGadgets, and they are a big rip-off. The have very bad reviews. Their prices are sky high, and not even brand new, and customer service is very poor. My first impression was that they were a bogus site, but bogus sites usually sells items in a very low cost to attract customers. Avoid this site at all cause. I am really surprised too, that there are some people who actually purchased items from their store. From the CL add: "Steel Transmission Shackles" I am not an expert with Rustlers, but what is a transmission shackle?

Crazy Price for Rustler on Craigslist and Online
$700 for a Rustler, upgraded and what not. I am surprised for what this guy is asking. Then I searched online on how much they are going for now, and found a Ruster with brushless set up for $790.00 at Novatechgadgets.com. I think I can find a lot better RC for that price. I dont know, but I have not spent cash on brand new RC lately. So it might be just me. If this guy can throw money on RC, I think he should consider it gone, or at least half is gone. RC stuff does not retain their value I think, just my opinion. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/tag/2890333956.html http://novatechgadgets.com/trx3707.html

RE: Unboxing - A Craigslist find.
Thanks, I have and had many RCs. I buy them, fix them, and enjoy them, then sometimes I let go and sell them. But I have always kept one RC10 (gold pan). New technology will keep coming, but I have a special centimental value for the original RC10.

I guess it was meant for me to pick up. Two weeks and the add was still up. Emailed the seller on the first day, but our busy schedule would not allows us to meet. He was at work, I am at work, too late, too early. Checked the add daily and its still there. For the low price, I thought it would go really fast, but it didnt.

Hobby Grade RC at PepBoys
Local Pepboys store here in San Diego, CA carries electric RTR Traxxas Stampede trucks #3605 ($199.99), and replacement parts. As a DIY car guy, that's just convinient - grab my oil change supplies, then some a-arms for my stampede. I have seen a lot of clone RC - toys specially heils, but this is a first to see a Traxxas not in a hobby shop.

SC truck body on ST truck Chassis?
I have a few ST trucks, nitro and electrics, Associated T1, GT, XTM excellerator, etc. I dont want to spend much for the newer Short Course trucks. But SC trucks are just the lastest craze today. I am thinking maybe I can just switch the bodies. I'm pretty capable of doing custom jobs, this seems kinda easy, just want to see others work. Thanks!

RE: Rc10 questions
I think its safe to say you can only use 7.4 volts for that brushed set-up. Older ESCs can only handle 6 to 7.2 volts. 5-6 cells, some can handle up to 7 cells, so that is 8.4 volts (1.2v per cell). But with Lipo batts, each cell is 3.2 volts. so for lipo it goes 3.2, 7.4, 11.1 etc. I think it will be best and safer and cheaper to go with Nimh's to start. I would only recommend LIPO batts if you will go brushless.

I see... 9T is the lowest I found. Maybe I should just replace the spur also. It will be a modified spur. -got to go back to square one and look at other options.- A 1/8 Brushless combo (mamba monster) is gonna cost me over $200.00 - ouch :(

RE: Pinion Gear Pitch Help!
I understand, the motor is for 1/10 and truck is 1/8. It's just for crawling around, not for speed. I think there is enough torque on this motor to slowly move this truck over some rough terrain. I am just trying to use what I have on hand and not spend money on this project. Unfortunately I dont have the right pinion gear so that one I have to buy - at least the pinion gear does not cost that much. I will try to gear it with the smallest pinion gear and biggest spur gear I can find. I think it will work.

Pinion Gear Pitch Help!
I have a Mamba Max system to use on a XTM X-factor conversion. Nitro to Electric, I just want to swap the motor and use same transmission. Question: Is there a pinion gear for a brushless motor (CMS7700) that would mesh with the X-factor spur gear. What is the pitch of the nitro clutch bells or spur gears? I search them and only see number of teeth. (like 14t clutchbell and 48t spur gear) Not like electrics, there are 32p and 48p pinions and spurs.

RE: Cops Don't Like Rustlers...
1988 Clint Eastwood Movie - Dead Pool. RC Car chases real car - goes under - then blows up. Always Practice Safety First - As said in the manual. - you could cause damage to the real car - scratch or dent, or distract a driver and cause an accident. - your rc truck could get run over and bye bye $300 - When driving real car, sometimes its hard to see a small rc following behind. just my opinion

I have used 20% Nitro O'donnell before, but now, there are different kinds. I have Nitro Trucks, ST and MT with engines AE.15, HPI K4.6, OS CZ.12, Hyper21 & XTM 24.7 Which fuel would you recommend for all my engines. a: High Performance Racing Fuel - formulated for competition for cars and trucks with synthetic oil. b: Speed Blend - formulated for Car model engine racing, with synthetic and castrol oil lubricant blend. c: Ready2Run - for preassembled glow engines cars & trucks with equivalent 18%lubricant. d: T-Blend - formulated for RTR Monster trucks with equivalent 18%lubricant. They are all same priced at 9.99/Quart at Tower Hobbies. My first pick is A, second pick is D.

X-factor Electric Conversion
I have an X-factor that has been sitting on the shelf for a while now, well pretty much all of my RC stuff are in storage, just dont have much time to play and the weather is also not cooperating. I am getting bored and want to work on my rc indoors. I have 2 systems to choose from. #1 would be Twin Titan Motors with the EVX2 esc from an Emaxx, #2 is a Castle Creations Mamba Max (for 1/10) running on 11.2v or 14.4v. I am not going for a speed record, I just want it slow down and be able to climb like a crawler. You know what they say about Nitro crawlers. Will the mamba max too weak for a 1/8 truck that it might get hot. But since I will be just crawling around, do you guys think it will be OK?
