RE: VIDEO: Maiden Fliton Rogue 3D
I am a not a 3D flier so would you share why it appears to be nose heavy? I liked the video.

RE: mAh for trickle charge.
In my Triton manual they recommend 7% of the charge rate you charge it at.

RE: Precision Aerobatics Extra 260 or Katana MD
I bought my 260 at the Toledo show and it was a hard decision which one for me too. The good news is that you will be happy with either one. Tons of great comments on both over at RCG, so my comment for you is pick one and start having fun.
ORIGINAL: aflipz
ORIGINAL: lucky9910 Can you send me the docs for motor box replacement. Thanks Lucky
here you go! http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8716836&postcount=3880
There has been some talk of re-enforcing the motor box with some triangle stock. I have not decided if that is a good thing or not. Looking at the re-build post at RC Groups the break was clean at the motor box. If that connection was stronger then maybe both break then. What do you think?

Field battery for a 109 charger
I am looking to purchase a 75aH Marine deep cycle trolling battery to power my Astro 109 which would in turn charge my 7S 3,000mAh emoli packs. The catalog say this battery will deliver 13.1 hours at a 5A discharge so I am thinking this should be good for 10 charges or so. Would this be right? Anyone using a marine deep cycle for field charging power?

RE: Piranha Charger and NiMH battery
Thanks and very timely. I have some new large NiMh packs coming this week and I plan on using the 140% capacity with a 1/10C charge rate. Should this be done for 10 hours or until the charger peaks? The Piranha is a pulse charger where the Triton is a linear charger. Any comments on what is better for the NiMh side of batteries? The reason I ask is that I have an opportunity to sell my Piranha for a good price and I have a great discount coupon for the Triton.

Triton – Piranha Chargers
I used the Astro 109 for all of my 7S lipo charging so I never looked at the Triton before. I have been using the Duratrax Digital Piranha for my NiCd and Nimh batteries but I am now considering selling it and getting a Triton for that charging to gain the battery cycling/maintenance features. Has anyone used both chargers and care to comment on something I might be overlooking? I have to tell you the Piranha does the job nice and is nice to have both AC and DC options.
ORIGINAL: U-dUd Set the capacity to the lowest value and the current will not matter because it will reach capacity hopefully then relie on the constant current of 200 ma for the duration of the time. Also set the mv to lowest value.
Would you please clarify this some more? Are you choosing the lower capacity so the delta peak would switch over to the trickle at an earlier point reducing the end of cycle heat associated with the finish? So what capacity should he choose for his 1650 then? Also on setting the mV to the lowest setting, why is this? Lowest as in 3mV as opposed to 15mV?

RE: CHEAP LI-PO BALANCER?
$29.99 from Tower Hobbies. It looks just like a re-packaged Hyperion LBA6 so it should work great. I use the LBA6 (which is $39.99) and it works awesome. The LBA6 does come with connectors for all the cell sizes though.

TP-2100 charging times
For those of you that have and use Thunder Power TP-2100 batteries how long does it take in your charge cycle and what charger are you using? I am interested in upgrading my charger (Graupner Lipo 4) soon and I am looking at the Triton – Astro 109 – and Multiplex 5014. Thanks

RE: TRex XL CCPM ???
ORIGINAL: EZ Money but I have waaaay too much positive pitch with full collective,
When you say way too much pitch are you talking like 20º maybe? I had the same problem and I had the flybar seesaw holders flipped. Look at the pictures in the manual close. From the bearing there is a ball a short distance away and one a longer distance away. If you have them flipped you will get excessive travel.

RE: Inverted flight in Reflex???
Most likely you don’t have negative pitch programmed in Idle up. I have a Futaba 6EXH and fly inverted all the time. I don’t think governor mode has anything to do with it.

RE: got new heli, now looking for lipo charger!!
ORIGINAL: iishort86 i know how dangerous lipos can get so i dont want to go cheap on my charger! price range is $100 tops. hopefully i can find something good out there for that price?
Don’t always equate low cost with the fire danger. All (at least what I have seen) of the recent fires that have been reported in the RC Forums have been human error by setting the wrong cell count and rate or charge. There are very safe $30-$50 chargers that are basic Auto Detect chargers (including Thunder Power’s) that are very safe because you can’t override the settings.

RE: Questioning T-Rex purchase?
I expected mine to be that twitchy from hearing such comments so I started out with a single 1/16 wheel collar drilled out to fit the flybar and my results are just like the others nice and tame. That was a good post that was made earlier about using negative expo. Positive expo makes it faster around the center.

You did not mention what you want to fly. If you want one for Helicopters the best is – Reflex XTR. The physics are right on.

RE: Heading Lock versus No Heading Lock
ORIGINAL: arpitman Can someone please explain the difference between a heli gyro with heading lock and one without? A heading hold gyro will correct for the drift and bring it back to its original heading.

RE: Video Card for Reflex and G3
If you are going to buy a new one the Radeon 128 would be a good choice and the Redeon 256 would be a great choice. The 256 will be my next card. I am using a 64 mb Quadro4 380XGL but as I mentioned this is what I would consider the minimum.

RE: Video Card for Reflex and G3
Despite what the mfg recommendations say you need at least a 64 mb card to run Reflex and with that it will only run right in a full window setting with the v-sync turned off. With it turned on and or run in a window and you will get sub par results.

RE: Where to go after the Blade CX
Get a T-Rex and start it off with 2-wheel collars to tame it down some or better yet put on a set of Shogun paddles with the heavy weight collars for nice stable flying.

RE: simulator for heli's
If you want the best for heli flying Reflex XTR is the way to go. Great visual realism but where it really shines is with the realistic physics of helicopter flying. Having messed with G2 and G3 with fellow workers I decided to drive to a Hobby Store that has Reflex set up for customers to fly and it was hands down my choice. If you want to fly online with other G3 flyers go that route but if you want your sim to fly like your helicopter get the Reflex.

RE: HeliMax MX400 CCPM heli "build" thread
Tower has the Futaba 6EXH 6-Channel FM Micro/4 S3107 Servos for $169.99, is this OK with the MX-400, or would I be better to go with the Hitec Optic 6 and there micro servos? Just curious guys why you chose the MX-400 over the T-Rex? I am still scratching my head but leaning much more to the MX-400 because it sounds a little more stable.
