RE: EJF Sport Jet 90 - anyone flying this?
BUMP - OK since no one seems to be flying it..... How does this plane from the review link compare to others that you would enter the world of EDF Jets for getting started? http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=622291

EJF Sport Jet 90 - anyone flying this?
Is anyone flying the Electric Jet Factory new 90 version? If so can you post your configuration, motor choice, ESC, battery and charger etc, or for the 70 model. I read the 70 model review @ RCU, just looking for more information. I don't see a thread here or in any forum for the new 90mm version.

RE: Largest Prop on SIG Four Star 40??
Mine will have a EVO .52 NX with a 12 x 6 MAS. Just run any prop in the range of the Saito .62 per the manual would be the safest thing to do overall.

RE: Remind me why do we fly glow planes, compare to electric planes,
Flying Glow/Gas, I don't have to worry about my house burning down (April 2007 Model Aviation Editorial), my truck burning to a crisp (happened locally), or my shed going up in smoke from an UNCHARGED LIPO from flying electric. Too many tree huggers are trying to convince people of the benefits etc, which from this thread seem to be losing the battle. Sure bigger planes can be converted but where's the SOUND. You're flying a Warbird silent? or some other Sport flyer that sounds like a baby fart going by on a low pass. Our WWII pilots derserve some respect to keep things scale, and for any other aircraft for that matter. Foam, thin pieces of insulation don't give me a thrill. I love the smell of Nitro in the morning. It smells like .......Victory.............vs a fan in a quick stop on the counter.

RE: Mustang PTS????
Flaps actually increase lift at slow speed, drag is a result. The flaps will slow the PTS down to a trainer landing which is nice. "The Evolution engine sucks but the P-51 is a good flyer. I pulled a great save out of a bad situation." So you have a engine go out with no factual basis as to why and you bash an entire leading edge engine in the EVO? Evo's have a great reputation in the market place and here on RCU, run some searches and see. They are not as cheap as some and on the high end for cost, but you get what you pay for as the saying goes.

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
any luck on the sound issue some of us are having when loading 1.5? Pent 4 Windows XP SP2 2.66 GHZ 1.5 GB Ram Nvidia GE Force 6600 Legacy Audio Drivers Creative SB Live Flying the scaled down P-51 65" with EVO 40 engine chosen and at RPM engine range starting at 2000, only other adjustment was a dry weight of 7.75 lbs. Just tried the trainer, same issues and rescaled the P-51 to sets sounds again under the edit aircraft settings, same results. Another observation which may help. The sound will vary with the throttle, however when you bring the throttle to idle, the sounds mutes itself to a lower than normal level. You can still hear the sounds, but it's muted a few levels lower than just before when you were in flight. Additionally the sound still will not vary on speed passes or with distance changes. That's all I can find, and like I stated it happened right after I loaded 1.5. The sound varied with distance like it should with 1.4. Hope you can resolve and thanks for the quick response on RCU. I just performed a system retore for a few days back to remove the 1.0.5 patch and the sound is back to normal.

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
Just downloaded the 1.0.5 patch and it will screw up your sound. 1.0.4 version was working fine. Now the sound just stays constant vs varying like it should with distance changes. I have contacted the FSOne help so we'll see if now we get a fix for the fix so to speak.[:@] What's the old saying, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" [:D]

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**
For an honest answer.... I started out with the PTS never having touched an RC plane. I was able to solo with the help of a local IP but never felt my confidence level was where it needed to be once I was cut loose. I had some hard landings and have had to replace the landing gear etc and made one repair to a wing due to another semi-crash. The PTS still lands fast . Deer season came along and I was out for 4-5 months. I bought the FSOne sim and started flying the trainer (H9 Alpha sim) which has really helped, and was enjoyable actually. I then started using the 65" scaled version P-51 on FSOne to emulate the PTS with flaps. I've put 10 hours on that version and now feel I'm ready for the PTS on the field with little help, stripped of all its training gear and having the added flap servo. If I had to do it all over again from scratch to get into the sport, I 'd start with a classic high wing trainer of your choice and budget, then move to the PTS (strip the wheel brakes first), fly with the flaps and wing aileron attachments for a while, then strip those training items and add the flap servo to get your low wing experience. A Sig Four Star .40 will be my next second plane after the PTS P-51.

RE: Hangar 9 Mustang PTS problem- Please help
I have the same plane, take of the wheel speed brakes, they are worthless and they tend to move with airspeed. If one grabs some air it will act as an aileron to roll the plane. I have had no troubles with mine. Have you balanced the plane? The EVO is heavy up front and can take 2 oz's plus on the tail. I'd take out the +40 in the TX, remove the speed brakes and start over. Check the tape on the plastic leading edges as well. These actually will help you at first before you add flaps. I really think it's the speed brakes moving. Let us know.

Thanks, no I haven't tried it and I 'll stick with the 11 X 6 . Leaving my flywheel on but needed only 2 oz on the tail to balance. Have the full flaps working now with all the training gear off.

RE: Which simulator do you prefer among the best six?
FS One for ease of use. I had to reverse to control surfaces just to get AFPD to work. The grafics are not that great compared to FSOne and it certainly is not as user friendly from the time you open he box to getting it to fly. I really don't see all the hype for AFPD when others look more realistic and you have multiple patches to get the same you would with FSOne or G3

TX setting all mixed up HELP!!!
I just installed the program and I'm using a JR XF421 EX 5 Chan TX. This is the one that comes with the H9 P-51 PTS Trainer. I can't get any plane up in the air!! What should the settings be when trying to calibrate an aircraft for the ailerons, elevators, throttle and rudder? Hopefully someone here has had the same problem.

EJF.com and speak to Robert, he's getting ready for FL Jets right now so his response may be delayed, but these guys can help you get started for sure. They have been in business since 1998 for just E-Jets and are starting to make the Turbine Gods take a look at electrics for 1/4 of the costs. Cost wise maybe start with 70mm / 90 mm vs 120mm size jets.
