RE: Zoom?
the new Sony CX710/760 or PJ710/760 both have zoom but more importantly the BOSS stabilization which would allow you to zoom in and have a stable picture this is what you are looking for, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_mwLVPWqhU here is a IR servo connector that allows zoom of the sony camcorder from your Tx http://gentles.ltd.uk/buy.htm?i=044%20gentLED-videoZOOM%20Sony%20Camcorder&c=21.95

RE: Highlight reel from my vacation in WY
Rig is a Y6 with WKM flight controller and HoverFly Gimbal Controller filming was with a Sony Nex-5n with 16mm prime. the 16mm was too soft for my liking and i think i am going to rent the sigma 19mm to see if i like it. 90% was flown FPV and 10% LOS I was using 1.2ghz with fatshark base editiion goggles, but i just bought a set of PirateEye monoculars from 1001copters in france. then i will be able to fly LOS and FPV at the same time, which will be a great tool for AP work. thanks for the kind comments!

RE: FPV for Search & Rescue mission
there is a big UAV commiunity at RCgroups.... check out DIYdrones. the APM2 will do what you need. a small plane with a HD camera flying waypoints is easy to get done. the easystar is a good simple plane that can fly for 30-40mins if done right

Testing out my newly aquired PSO MKTR gimbal
So a couple weeks ago I picked up a used photoshipone MKTR pro gimbal. It was missing some parts and the servo horns were not in working order.r I sent DJ at PSO an email and made sure he knew I bought it used asking him if i could buy the missing parts. He sent me them for free :D Got to love customer service like that. The MKTR I have has the 2nd roll serbo and the geared tilt servo. I al still getting a little servo backlash on roll and DJ told me to call him. They are writing up a tuning document on the gimbal and had some ideas on how to get it to perform better. this video was done prior to any tuning. http://youtu.be/CHpeJ4Txg10 hope to have it tuned and ready to go soon. Even with the backlash simple stabilization from software (vegas 11 in my case) got rid of 99% of it with almost no wripples or artifacts. let me know what you think oh shot with my Sony Nex-5n 18-55 with OIS on
