RE: Thoughts on Perry, Ga swap meet
He's right. There were several guys who had kits priced extremely high, even for the auction place. I saw many kits in the $250-$300 range that normally go in the $150-175 range. Sometimes you get lucky at the auction game, sometimes you don't. These guys wanted the "lucky" rate. With that said, I have no problem with anyone trying to sell their items at the price they want to sell them for. You never know when someone wants it REAL bad. I did get a few good deals there though. What I didn't like was that Perry is now a Friday event basically. Saturday is the "leftover" day.

RE: How bad will the Aurora hurt the 10C sales?
ORIGINAL: dick Hanson Interesting to hear the same old brown out stories aboutJR/Spektrum Old stories really die hard Really I had hoped to see FEATURES in the newer offerings so far- NADA Features are what make the Spektrum so popular. Spektrum has specialized rx for heli -for subminiature- diversified antenna arrangment- etc., from the others -I see nothing but - a change from 72 -to 2.4 maybe thats all some fliers want . If so The Chinese mfgrs have some new equipment which also works well -and the tx are pretty sophisticated At the present - they are having teething problems but I am certain this will all sort out quickly for more simple models -I expect the competition from China will be tough on the late comers to the 2.4 game .
You really think the DX7 is more feature laden than the Aurora? I tend to agree with Dick T.. Radios (of all brands) are becoming more feature rich than I'll ever need, and reliability is pretty much a non-issue. I have always used Futaba, but I'm not too brand loyal to see that this new Hitec has a lot to offer, at a great price.

RE: How bad will the Aurora hurt the 10C sales?
Thanks for the info. I see the "street price" on the 72mhz synthesized transmitter is $549. If I add the 2.4 module and a receiver, I'm looking at another $300 for the "72 & 2.4 use" set. That's $850! I could buy the 12FG. Or I could buy the Aurora for $459 and add a Pro synth module for ~$100. Futaba might want to take a look at packaging the 10CA again with the 2.4 module and receiver. Or make the 10CAG convertible with an antenna change, like the 12FG. Then all I need to purchase seperately is a 72mhz module.(which most Futaba users already have). I don't really care for the antenna sticking up from the back of the Tx, which was probably the biggest complaint, but I could live with it in order not to need 10-12 2.4 receivers. Or, I could be a two radio guy. Servocity still has some of the "non dedicated" 2.4ghz 10Cs, if anyone is in my situation, and currently looking for one.
ORIGINAL: mongo if ya like using a second class radio, well, that is your choice. first tier stuff has never let me down, like the second rate stuff has.
I remember when people said that about JR. Servocity still has some of the 10CAP radios which will accommodate the 72mhz module. They'll probably be all gone before I make my mind up. I haven't really researched the new Airtronics radio yet. I always liked their stuff, never understood why it wasn't more popular. Futaba and JR may have been resting on their laurels a little too much.

How bad will the Aurora hurt the 10C sales?
I've been using Futaba for 18 years, and have loved all of them. I currently own two 9Cs, and probably 25 receivers(all brands). I have been reading up on the new Aurora from Hitec, and I'm seriously considering skipping the 10C in favor of the Aurora. I think Futaba is going to have some major competition on it's hands this time. It's different than the Futaba vs JR thing, because JR/Futaba receivers are not compatible. Now, all my old Futaba receivers would not be compatible with the new 10CAG, but would be with the Aurora(with a module change). Plus the Aurora's 25% less expensive than both!

RE: Duralite Batteries (Buyers Beware)
When the batteries arrived he unboxed a two sets and layed them on his work bench. A few minutes later he started to hear something that sounded like muffled popcorn popping and could not figure out where it was coming from. He eventually followed the sound back to the batteries and when he picked one up he could not believe his eyes. They would pop and then blow a hole in the heat shrink. He called Duralite and was basically told he didn't know what he was doing and that was it.

As for the drag marks it was where my friend had put a strip of sticky back velcro on the bottom so it could be installed in the plane.
I don't understand why he would put velcro on a pack when he had just witnessed the above event.

RE: A123's from Ebay member Hopmeup
Let's look at it from their point of view. You bought packs from them, which you stated were new. You "took it apart and fixed it", and then had a problem with it. You also didn't check them for low voltage, which is a requirement for return. Then, when they would't do what they said they wouldn't do, you left them neutral feedback. Now you're complaining because they have blocked you? Two things: 1. If you were unhappy with the first transaction, why would you purchase from them again? 2. If I were them, I would think you are trying another purchase in order to leave negative feedback.

Do you have some experience with the H9 Cap?Yesterday was the first I have heard of it.I did a search here and found nothing on it. Fuel dots?
All the fuel dots I have used so far have had the fuel line attached to the plug part of the dot,and you fueled, and defueled by attaching to the fuel line.I recently purchased a plane that has fuel dots, and the fuel line doesn't pull out with the plug. The line is attached to the back of the other part. The plug also doesn't have a barb for fuel line. How do I fuel, and defuel with these dots?I purchased and tried the PSP filtered fueling probe, and it is a little small for the hole in the dot.Any ideas what these are?
