E-Revo vs. Vendetta ST vs. RC18T
Well obviously the race / competition is not a legit setup but it was between three of us and well here were the specs / results E-Revo VLX 1/16th R/T: Ko Propo 2.4ghz ESC: stock Motor: stock Spur: Stock Pinion: 26t Batteries: Thunderpower 1350mah 11.1v 3s Lipo 20C/40C Vendetta ST 1/18th R/T: Spektrum DX3s ESC: Castlecreation sidewinder 1/10th scale Motor: Heli Max 3000kv 400can size motor Spur: 45T Pinion 18T Battery: Hyperion 1600mash 11.1v 3s Lipo 35C/65C RC18T R/T: Spektrum DX2.0 ESC: Castlecreatoin mamba micro 1/18th Motor: Heli Max (??) Spur: (??) Pinion: (??) Battery: Thunderpower 1800mah 11.1v 3s Lipo 30C/60C So basically the RC18t took some bad spills and lost 2 of its shock braces so it was out for the count, though it looked like it could still be a contender.... we are going to repair it and race it agains the E-Revo 1/16th first. Anyways so we had the vendetta and the e-revo go at it for a couple straight top speed runs, and overall here were some of the results: E-Revo Dual Team Orion 1600mah NiMH 7.2v (14.4 total) runing against the Vendetta as describe above, and the final verdict between the 3 drivers was the detta from a rolling start pulls a little on the erevo, most races ended with the vendetta infront by a car lenght or two. From dead stop depending on launch (whether or not both cars flip over or not) the vendetta still pulled. So we decided to see what would happen on the Lipo set next. We ran 1 3s Thunderpower to the E-revo and it was a big faster (maybe just cause of the weight difference) and it was pretty much dead even. Neither car seemed to be pulling on the other, just pretty much dead even. It was impressive to say the least, both cars are stupid fast, and uncontrollable at those speeds, and if you dont control the throttle both of the mwill do wheelies at 1/2 throttle. Overall we did notice the quality of the erevo was much better, and strong (it is a much newer car) and the Vendetta has just been on a headon collision with a steel pole the pervious morning. I just wanted to say that both cars are pretty impressive, and for how fast the erveo is out of the box it def makes it worth the purchase. My friend is doing some tune ups on his erevo and i will be replace the broken top a-arm on the detta (as i was racing with a broken one) and we will be at it again. BTW i own the vendetta so it hurts to say right now i would def. buy an erevo over the detta just for the ease of getting to those tops speeds, but then again doing the calcuations and trail and error is also half the hobby...

Anyone know if there is a US distributor. I went to order a similar motor to the Ammo 28-35-3900kv motor and found one for $13, looks nice, but then you go to order and they want 2.9% processing for Paypal / CC, as well as $20 for shipping!

RE: new video
Thanks for the input... For this current video is use the old iflip usb camera (no clue its specs) but i use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 with magic bullet and some video copilot stock footage (noise and stuff).... If we get into filmin some rc ill pull out the Canon XH A1 HDV camera, that on a fluid head tripod should make for some nice pans of the track..... Yea i wanna mess around with the camera mounted onto the car and see if i can find a way to strap it down more secure so it can land off jumps, at this point if wont land the jump with out popping off hahah

What things would u need to build a track in a grass / dirt / sandy FL backyard? Im thinking a shovel and some bags of dirt to get the track layed down.... we have skate ramps for jumps, and maybe even just dirt on milk crates for a jump or something.... any other suggestions?? what kind of dirt would u suggest using?

Which controller?
Well ive decided I want to make the jump to specktrum or at least 2.4ghz freq so that i can use the same controller with all of my cars, and not have to keep guessing with the crystals.... So now i have to choose, futaba or spektrum? Futaba: 3PK 2.4ghz with FASST system 4PK 2.4ghz with FASST system (seems like a little much) Spektrum: DX 3.0 all the way to the top DX3r... Basically I right now have 2 cars AE TC3 with mamaba max setup (2s lipo 7700kv geared for speed) Duratrax vendetta basher (3s lipo 3900kv ammo motor) i will possibly be adding a couple nitro and some other electric so i want one controller i can just add recievers too... Which would u sugguest, some seem like complete over kill... I was thinking 3pk system or DX3s whats this DSM2 technology is that something i should spring for? THanks!

Novus CP issues...
well im having trouble with my tail rotor and motor.... for some reason the gears dont seem to mess right and when i try to take off it starts to spin in a crazy pirouette.... could the settings on my controller be messed up? is there a way to reset them to factory? I dont think that is it, but it seems that either the motor and tail gears dont mesh up or something is wrong with the controls.... any ideas guys? Also, the guy at the LHS said the rear rotor shaft and gears coems lose ,so he put a little ca on it to hold em there, and suggested i would do that it should help the issue, but it did not ....

Novus CP... wow.
All i can say is this helicopter is pretty impressive. I am by no means a pilot or able to fly collective pitch helis with much success, but I was able to get a decent hover going and some motion before i lost / broke some parts ekkk.... Oh well... im sure other people have this helicopter and are much better at fly but i just wanted to share my experience. On another note, anyone flying this heli notice the rear motor / trail setup get separated easily.... are there any solutions to is or so you just have to make sure the retainer is on tight?
