If your engine is broken in you shouldn't be getting any residue unless you have the engine running to rich. Gas engines are not suppose to be run rich.

Gas engines are not Like nitro. In that you don't need to run them a tad rich. Tune your engine for your location as the factory setting may be different

You have 2 plugs one goes to the battery and the other goes to the hall sensor on the engine. Plug the engine in, then the other plug goes to the battery
