Rcexl Opto Kill Switch Question
I will be using an A123 6.6 volt ignition battery with my Dle30 and a 5.1 volt regulator. Should the regulator be placed between the Kill Switch and the ignition module or between the battery and the kill switch? The receiver will also be powered with an A123 battery but unregulated. Thanks in advance for your responses, Al

RE: RE:
Jim, Since you are telling that story i will tell you mine. I had been looking at this plane for a couple of years before i bought the first kit but after doing so i started hanging out at the airport in fort smith ar and low and behold a cessna310p should up so i talked to the pilot and told him about our project and he told me i was welcome to take all the pictures of his airplane i wanted. Well you did not have to tell me twice i went home got the camera and shot 72 pictures of his airplane. This gentleman was from Mckinney Texas and had family in fort smith so he made the trip often. When we finished the plane but still had not flown it i called him to tell him it was complete and he asked if i could bring it to the airport to have pictures taken with the full scale, of course i said yes and we met that weekend. after taking mine apart and putting it away this man must of seen the droole running down my cheek for he ask me if we want to go for a ride. i took the right seat my wife took one rear seat and my builder took the other to say we had a great time would be a understatement we stayed out at least a half hour but it ended all to soon. We had a fly-inn not soon after and he did a low fly-by in the full scale and then came out to our field to watch me fly mine he took video and i still have a copy of that flight that i watch from time to time but i guess the best part is that not long after that i got a package in the mail and it was a magazine called the twin cessna flyer and there on the cover was both of our 310's i opened the front cover and there was the story of how mine came to be the twin cessna flyer was a magazine put out for all cessna twin owners. i still have my copy somewhere but since the move have not found it yet but that day is still in the front of my memeory and so is the love for this plane. RE: BVM oilite bushing too small for the Kingcat axel
My Kingcat had about 230 flights when I lost the main gear wheel. When we found the wheel the outside bushing was missing - have no idea how that might have happened. The bushing hole in the wheel was fine so I simply pressed in a new bushing. That's the only bushing I have ever replaced in any of my BVM wheels. Al

RE: BVM oilite bushing too small for the Kingcat axel
I had the same exact problem on one of my Kingcat mains - lost the outside bushing when the wheel departed the airplane on landing. Got a couple of new bushings and they slipped nicely onto a new axel but after installation I needed to run a 3/16in reamer thru it to get it installed. The new bushing was a tight fit in the wheel so I heated the aluminun wheel with a heat gun and had the bushing in the freezer for a while before installation. Oilite bushings tend to squeeze down a little if they are a tight fit. Al

RE: RE:
the thing to remember with a st4500 is the rear carb it will run fine on the ground but will ricen up in the air the cure is simple make a tube that will go from the front of the engine to the rear carb. you will find that in the air there becomes a vortex that sucks the air out of the carb thus making the engine run rich. with the tube it acts like a ram air and gives it good clean air and you will be surptised at the difference. i have had the 4500 since it was first brought out and with this set up i have been very pleased with the performance. RE: *New Bravata 30cc Gasser*
My Bravada - turquoise/cream showed up to-day. Here are my first impressions. The box was BIG! Double boxed with no visible damage to the outside and transported via Fed Ex. The airplane was carefully packed and all parts were well protected. Small parts and fasteners etc were bagged. The airplane arrived in perfect condition with no damage whatever. The covering was beautifully installed with just a few wrinkles which is to be expected. The glass wheel pants and cowl were well done and the paintwork was very high quality. The landing gear and wing struts are stout and again the paintwork is excellent. This is my second Aeroworks airpolane - I'm currently flying the 30cc Edge 540 with Dle 30 for power so I pretty much knew what to expect in the Bravada. This one will also be powered with a DLE30. Looking forward to putting this airplane together and getting it to the field. Good work Aeroworks! Al Watson

RE: A123 Charging Rate
I have been using A123 batteries - both 1100 and 2300 Mah in all my models for four years or so. They were purchased from Fromeco and all have balance/charge leads which I think are 22ga. I also use Cell Pro chargers both a 4s and a Multi 4 and charge at the rates you mentioned in your post. The charge leads do not get hot and I have never had any issues with these batteries. I discharge all my packs every six months or so using Peak Electronics Super Pro discharger and there has been absolutely no degration in capacity of these batteries. Al Watson

Thanks guys, I have 4 310's ,3 nosen's and i have the top flite 310 as well. the one that i have chosen to go has the most on it with retracts and brakes and cockpit. I do not want to sell her but i am sure that finding a place to keep her if we move is going to be a problem so that is why i will offer her up to the members of the club first for i know she would go to a good home with people who care about the 310.
