ORIGINAL: crankpin Chris - Is this engine made with side exhaust ? Vince
Both side and rear exhausts are available. The older Blue Head side exhaust has been replace with the "CR" (Cesar Rossi) Purple head. I have the .57 in a Kaos and it rips. RE: Big jump in kit prices at Tower
I can't imagine Tower making much money off thier kits. The offer 10 - 20% off purchases regularly plus free shipping. I recently shipped a 60 size kit that cost me $23. Considering the low volume plus the rising cost of balsa and shipping, we've been spoiled by low prices for a long time.

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF
The DB will be slightly nose heavy (compensated with a rear mounted battery pack) with the .61 FX or the .65AX. The .75AX is 3oz heavier than the .65AX.

RE: How do you get that smooth finished look
ORIGINAL: jsevey I use Deft brand lacquer based sanding sealer. Build up a few coats and then lightly sand with fine paper between coats until the grain is covered. It drys extremely fast and you can apply several coats and sand in a single afternoon. Sands quickly and easily and comes off very powdery. I use this method for film covering, fabric and dope, or fiberglass. Comes in cans for brushing (my favorite- builds up quicker) or in spray cans. Clean up with lacquer thinner. Hope this is helpful. jim
+1 on the Deft sanding sealer!

Jeff, my buddys plane is built box stock with $15 Futaba S3004 analog servos and we havent seen any issues with rudder or elevator friction. I didn't notice any friction before the servos were attached though.

That's a photo from when we were doing full throttle run time tests after the tune pipe test was over. Needed to find something to tie the plane to so I used the mailbox. Flying a 3M glider in the front yard was exciting enough. A DB knife edge down the street is one trick I'll let my buddy Chris attempt....

RE: outlaw extreme flight with os 46ax
There's no way you will get the plane to balance with the .46AX The plane is designed for .25 "sized" engines weighing about 9oz. You will need to add a TON of lead to the tail. Put a .32/.36 size engine on it and you will be most satisfied.
