Earthquake 8e dogbone problem
I keep popping the dogbone out of the diff cup. Does anyone make longer dogbones for this truck? It barely fits in the cup. Thanks for any help.

RE: any better diffs. available?
Does the diff have "slop" between the ring and pinion? The earthquake 8E suffers from this. I shimmed the short shaft the pinion is on so it is tighter. Also lube these up good. It is the week point. When you power on it moves the shafts and diff with large amounts of force so you need tight tolerances. Someone posted a vid on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2foA1XOyxc8 see if this helps

RE: anyone with a 8E had steering issues?
Broke an axle on mine too. Servo is a little on the weak side for the big tires. Body is really brittle. Bashed mine hard yesterday and broke the back body mount screws that go into the shock mount. Also lost screw and spacer that goes through the c carrier into steering knuckle, missed the locktight on those the first round.. Parts ordered.

RE: did I make a bad purchase or am I just unlucky or am I just a bad driver???
I broke the axle on my 8e the exact same way that you did and it was 55 degrees out that day. Pavement is hard on them. I also did about 20 cartwheels in the grass off of a skate board ramp with no breaks. These axles look weak in this area. I am thinking about having a set of axles machined from stainless at my local machine shop. good idea? Body is brittle but expected it to break this beast is 9 plus pounds!

Caldera 10E radio question
Stock radio and receiver and the range is only about 15-20 yards. Any ideas? I did bind the receiver to my other transmitter and same problem so i'm sure it is the receiver. The antenna wire runs under the battery wires when it goes into thr receiver box. would this be the problem?

RE: earthquake 8e center diff problem
First pavement run with diffs filled and wheelie bar on. This thing is fast on a set of blue lipo 30c 4000mah. No weird noises. Ran like a champ when I could keep it from flipping on its top lol. Mine also pulls to the right under acceleration and I did put 10k in the rear and center and 3k in the front.

Shimmed it just a little to clear the bottom plate. All the diffs were dry. Do you have any suggestions on what diff grease to put in these?

RE: New to forum and Hobby
Congrats on getting into this hobby. You did good buy doing the right things. I did the same with my earthquake 8e buy checking alot of things over. I have had my truck apart almost twice just setting it up and trying to prevent any user error breakage. These are rtr's but still need to think of it as a kit. The people who assemble them don't have to work on them later so if it ain't just right oh well, it still sells. Good job hope you have fun.

I was wondering about the c rating you answered my question about that. He is planning on going to 3s this year. I read some of the forums people having trouble with the 3s shutting down there esc when they just steer? Heard that b4?

RE: HobbyPartz Lipos?
Like i said,Ihave not bashed them yet but they seem ok, Meaning they balance out ok charged good and run fine just haven`t bashed them. Lipos which i have been running for two years in helis, Seems like if your gonna have problems then its gonna be right away wether it be small like imbalance issues or not holding charge to a puff in two months? User errror? Not shure. Read up on lipos to be familiar with them. I have one set that came from hong kong hat is the exact same model and size, One of them from the getgo was bigger and I always question that battery. Guess what after about 30 runs in my 450 heli it puffed durring flight. The other mate to it is still fine. Goes to show you any manufacturer can make great, good or crap. I may change my opinion but not till I use them well. I do plan on buying more of them. You here alot more of the bad than the good, its called the 3 to 7 rule. Everyone has an opinion. You are right 90% of them probable do come from the same place. Its just a price game.

RE: earthquake 8e questions help
I love it and can't wait for a break in this weather. Even on the ground it shakes. Wheel does not run true. When you spin it it moves from side to side when looking down on it. Makes the truck shake and hop when it gets moving. May just be the big tires. I know they will baloon up big!!!!! Maybe new wheels if I can find some. I think it was money well spent on a basher. My friends have tmaxx nitro and a vxl rustler. Can't wait to smoke em. I also bought two Blue Lipo 4000mah 30c batteries. What do you think the run time will be on those? They did not have the 5000mah 20c in stock when I ordered these.
