RE: Building the House of Balsa A7 Corsair Propjet
Update... I wanted to do it in the Nellis AFB 4450th sq as pictured from the model kit 3 or 4 posts above but the decals were giving me fits, so I just did it in a fictional Hill AFB scheme. I could not find the canopy and resorted to using one from the HL A-7 EDF for now, (I see today the post above here that has it!!! THANKS!!!) but overall I am happy. I really suck at monokote but I am happy with the result. I just need to set the CG, break in the motor and see if it flies. If it does ok I am going to redo the covering on th nose and go from there but after 7 years, I am ready to see it go up. My only real complaint to this point is the CG! I have a big sq battery in the tail and it will still need about four oz to come even close. She sure is nose heavy with the G-34!! Thanks again for the link above for the canopy, I will have it ordered Monday (hopefully post test flight)

RE: Building the House of Balsa A7 Corsair Propjet
Thread Revival.... I got the 1st stage of covering on, just need to do the camo stuff. Here is where I am now: Here is something close to what I am shooting for: Now for the down side!!! I lost the canopy and have no idea on the best way to make a new one. I was hoping to find an old one for sale with no luck :-(

RE: Building the House of Balsa A7 Corsair Propjet
Everyone I talked to in the past told me to go with the Super Tiger G34 and that's what I bought. It fits perfect and puts out as much power as a strong .40 to mild .46 yet weighs the same as a .28.

RE: Building the House of Balsa A7 Corsair Propjet
No, thats the Hangar 9 F-22 (ex-pts jet). I took all the trainer stuff off, changed the decal scheme and put an OS 52 FX in on 30% nitro. It is designed for a .40-46 yet I found that the .52 makes it an unlimited vertical rocket. The downthrust is factory still.

RE: Building the House of Balsa A7 Corsair Propjet
I did, but it has been a slow process. Build a wing here, then quit for a while and so on. I actually remounted the motor yesterday and got the servos installed. All that is left is to hook everything up and cover it. She is ready to go

RE: Building the House of Balsa A7 Corsair Propjet
THANK YOU FOR THIS THREAD!!!I have had the HOB A-7 for about 5 years and seeing this thread has given me the gumption to get it finished. I am going to do it at the 4450th "LV" jets that were at Nellis as a cover story for the Red Eagles and F-117 project. I have a Super Tiger .34 in the nose.It should fly well.
