RE: JetCat P90 RXI
My Bandit ARF really benefited from going from a P80 to P100. The plane flew great before but is even better with the lighter 100. I think the 100 and 90 will have their places in the market place.

RE: Perfect Model Jet
ORIGINAL: moggyman64 Thanks guys, at present it appears that the scale jets are ahead on popularity. Keep them coming. Regards keith
Everyone has their own priorities from that perfect jet. I had a Hawk for all of 5 minutes and it reminded me that I love sport jets, so I sold it. Others (probably the majority[:D]) may feel the polar opposite to this. I like the idea of something which gives me good length of flight time per flight, is simple and robust so I can get a decent number of flights in a day at the field without recurring niggles sending me home early and it being able to offer me a wide flight envelope to fly fast, slow and generally be a great aerobatic aircraft. Now all I need is one which makes up for my utter incompetence as a toy plane pilot and has a way of creating more days in the week when I don't have to work so I can get out to play with it.......

RE: Perfect Model Jet
ORIGINAL: ModellbauUK  Tornado V3 with Jets-Munt VT80
Really? I'd want something that the gear didn't fall out of on landing, the covering didn't fall off of and generally didn't require large amounts of maintenance. It's neither a scale jet nor a particularly good sport jet but I suspect your plugging it simply because you sell it?

RE: Ultra flash or Bandit
ORIGINAL: Dave Wilshere I've built and flown Flash and Ultra Flash, Composite Super Bandit and Bandit ARF...All four are still flying. They are all completely different aeroplanes, none bad. The Flashes are both more lively in pitch (elevator) and need mixes or tweaks in drag mode for landing. The Bandits need no flap mixes and will let you know if they are too slow on landing as the elevator stops having affect! All except the Classic Flash need to land without too much vertical speed (descent) and the UF and BARF lower wing loading means not to fast or they will still be flying (skippy time) Each will suit a different pilots feel, but all can be mastered easily with a little thought, personally I like them all for different reasons, but as an all-round model I'd have an Ultra Flash if I had to have just one...Price, bullet proof, flying-its a winner. Dw
And I'm the lucky owner of Dave's old BARF[:D] I put a P100 in it and have to say the low speed handling is exceptional and it's a great aerobatic aircraft. I fly with some guys with UF's and with a 120 (let alone a 160) they are faster than my P100 BARF and overall seem to be really strong and robust. My BARF seems to handle low speed better and is more neutral when the flaps are down. Seems like both are great options just do some things better and other things worse than each other.

RE: How to match paint please?
Not sure if this helps but oracover do matched paints for their covering http://www.oracover.de/index.php/katalog/nlayer/450-1-paints.html I've no experience with it but I have dealt direct with them in Germany recently to get some covering that isn't sold in the US and it was a pretty simple process.

RE: Powerbox iGyro
I've had the chance to play with mine this week as I've not been working. I should get some more time over the weekend but I've about 20 flights on it now. I put it in my electric Extreme Flight 60" Extra before I put it in a jet to make sure I'm on top of how the whole thing works. It also gave me the chance to use it as a JR RX as well. The EF 60" is an impressive little plane - it flies very well but I ended up using Savox servos in mine as Horizon were out of stock of the JR units I wanted to use. These servos aren't great, they're not as consistent as I'd like and happily wonder out of trim regularly. That said, gyro free the plane flies awesome and will happily make its way through the Unlimited IMAC sequence without issue other than those my squiffy fingers create[;)] The set up was pretty simple and I managed to get the gain set for the 3 axis' wrapped up in a couple of flights. Switching the gyro on makes the plane fly like an even bigger plane. It becomes incredibly precise and it removes all the inaccuracies and inconsistencies of the crappy servos. It's quite incredible how it makes the plane feel, especially if you fly in a decent amount of wind. I flew today in 15kts of wind gusting 20kt and it was stunning how precise the plane stays in both precision and 3d. Like I said - the plane flies straight in the first place but it will be interesting to put this in something far more unstable. I suspect this technology will take a really poor flying platform and make a huge difference. It seems to be idiot proof in that you can take a poor set up and poor quality servos and sorts the mess out.... Looking forward to getting out and playing more before I stick in something a lot quicker and play with the GPS based speed function.

RE: Powerbox iGyro
Good to meet you too, Tony. I have installed mine in a 60" EF Extra. As I'm on JR it means I can play with the inbuilt RX as well. All the channels are assignable so it means I've been able to use a gyro channel for the throttle and shut the Gyro off on that channel. Just need it to stop bloody raining here so I can play with it[:@]

RE: Powerbox iGyro
Gerhard at Aircraft International now has these in stock in the US http://www.aircraftinternational.com/ I picked one up at Joe Nall and have installed it in an electric set up before I put it in the jet. It's an impressive unit and set up so far seems to be relative simple, even for an idiot like myself. Hopefully I will fly it in the next day or so and see what it can do.

RE: Airpower EV5U-PRO/EVO Update....
Unless you know you have total back up for this valve from where you buy it, I would not touch it with a big stick. These valves can and do go wrong from what I have seen, so being able to get after sales and warranty service is vital. Dreamworks would be my choice if they still sold them and as they don't have them, a sale as seen type classified from Taiwan would have my throwing money away alarm bells ringing[;)]

RE: Airpower EV5U-PRO/EVO Update....
I noticed this as well. I think Airpower have disappeared, so you may struggle to get them direct either. My first one failed (pressure read outs, then leaks, then total failure), my second one has started playing up but may be fixable. Has anyone had a problem with the brake valve loosing it's programming, then being ok again at random?! One day I landed and had no brakes and no pressure in the system at all. Then reprogrammed and it held air again but after a bit of time started leaking from the valve and lost all pressure. If I went to pump it up again, it just leaked the air straight out the valve when switched on but held air when switched off. Then the other day, went to try it again and it was working fine. Wondering if this is the beginning of the end and it's just going to fail again[:@]
