RE: Raidentech first experience...
Your lucky you got an intact tank, I got 2 from them in the beginning and both had broken parts and the Tiger I had a smashed turret, they wanted me to pay shipping to get another. The good news is you can make an antenna from some wire :)

RE: Central Florida Check in
Your uncle's club has quite a spread, very nice setup and camping on site. If a Florida club could have access to land thats half the battle ( no pun intended ) right there. Lets keep the ball rolling here and finally get a club formed in Florida! Paul

RE: Central Florida Check in
I would think it would be a Tank club first and secondly would do battles with I/R if enough members were interested. James, you bring the Glenfiddich and I'll make room :P Paul

Central Florida Check in
Someone is trying to start a central florida tank club, figured I'd post here and see how many people are interested. Keep in mind the other guys travel hours to attend events and sometimes get hotels and such for overnighters. So don't bet on ever having a club in your backyard :) Paul

Good list Spike, I concur on the condemnation of Raidentech and I bought tanks from them at one time, you'll find a long and sorted thread on the topic but as Dugster stated most have had bad experiences.

RE: King Tiger in Panzer Grey?
Mine is a Tamiya, the skirts were optional but if yours is the matorro they are molded on i think, not impossible but more work to remove. I'd use a x-acto and carefully cut them off, other people have used other methods

RE: King Tiger in Panzer Grey?
I also wanted a grey KT, after reading alot about the final days of the war a panzer grey KT was looking more probable, paint was scrounged and applied by the crews with little regard to directives. Photos are more scarce for this time leaving artistic license the only option. With these caveats in place here is my KT build :) http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6553011/anchors_6553011/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#6553011

Caska : The Panzer Soldier
I downloaded the audio book from Audible.com and listened to it while working on the JagdPanther, what a great story and from what I could discern during numerous tank battles and references to german and russian materiel accurate in its assertions. I have been a member for about a year and they allow you to keep your library on their site, so unlike itunes music you don't have to back it up yourself. Here is a link for a free trial and that makes this audio book free! http://www.audible.com/adbl/site/LandingPages/friends.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes Enjoy, Paul

RE: HELP ....Gluing Painted Parts
I will add that I use an x-acto knife to lightly scrape away unwanted paint on parts I am going to glue. I use medium and thick Zap, sometimes using the medium for areas I can't get to and rely on some running. Paul

RE: Kingtiger with lots of stored stuff!
I like what you did, I am sure there are more things carried and strapped to the late german tanks than photos ever caught, one question though, what rife is that on the front right side - looks a little ak-47ish.

RE: new ad for KV-2
I remember buying a 1/72 KV-2 back in the 70's for our wargames, it was a fun and ugly behemoth but I do like some of the monstrosities that came out of Russia such as the SU-152.

RE: JAG IR RECOIL ISSUE RESOLVED!
Hey Curt, nice pics ! That micro switch looks like the type we used for speed control years back on the RC warships. Radio Shack has them, they are not the same shape but if you glue it so the activation arm is in the same spot I think it might work.

RE: - PERSHING ONLY PICTURE THREAD !
Yes James, the same Alice tracks :) Looking closely I wonder if the Alice tankers did it for better traction, I think the cleats would have more bite in this direction, a field improvisation ?

RE: possible soviet green?
I was looking into this for my KV-1 and this statement sums up what I found: "The Red Army preferred its armor painted olive green and you won't have problems finding this color in any store. As an alternative, you can use olive drab which looks very similar. Testors Model Master makes a color named "Russian Armor Green" which is almost blue. Most modelers have no idea what that color is and why it's so blue. Olive green was the predominant color throughout the war but it was impossible to guarantee regular paint shipments to tank factories so the assembly lines often used whatever green was available. If some kind of tractor green was the only paint in stock it was applied without hesitation. Some tanks were not painted at all due to lack of time. A few tanks had a brown camo pattern painted over the olive green but this was applied in the field by the crews and there was no specifications describing it. If you want to try it your guess is as good as anybody's."
