What is the specified C.G. point of the Glen Torrance 1/3 Scale DR-1? I searched the thread and did not find it, nor on the GT site. I did not see ability to DL and view the Manual.

You will, however, find some of the best prices ever on hobby supplies and batteries. I will never buy another battery again from the local hobby shop.

RE: Need help, I'm stumped!
I love my electric retracts on my B-25 Mitchell .. I had problems with the retracts yesterday on the Cessna 310D Songbird. Nose gear did not lock when extended. I don't think that you can point a finger to either type and say that all is bad (or good) about one system. It seems to me at this point that the electrics (screw type) are less problematic. Just my current thinking. If you get a bad actuater... you just need to get it swapped out. Now that you have it isolated to one side, send it back in for repair/replacement. Bottom line, retracts are problems waiting to happen. You cannot bang them around.

RE: beware of easytiger models??????????
I have tried with all my might to warn people of Curtis Mattikow. He has threatened to sue me. All I have ever written is what he did. After a year of correspondence... he finally delivered a $1,150 plane. I really did not think that he would ever come through and we contacted the NY State Attorney General and Local Police. The guy needs to be put out of business, the only way that is happening is to let everyone know how difficult it is to do business with him.

Thanks... maybe not so much of a need for fancy props at this size... I will ask in the new section as there does not seem to be a control line section, or I missed it.

Need Carbon Fiber 3-Bladed Props
I am looking for smaller 3-bladed props for an OS55AX engine... putting them on a Cessna 310 with likely a silver spinner. I would love the white of the Biela CF props... I am currently running some master airscrew 12x6 three bladed props on the same engine with a B-25 bomber... they work nice. Can someone point me to something that is available now? Please. Thank you. Someone mentioned that the control line guys may be using something... can't imagine a 55 on a control line... that would be an awesome dude to stay clear of.

RE: Coming soon to this forum (not for the rivit counters)
An aside; Just returned to the states on a foreign air-carrier...(I don't want to say which one) I had a 1-1/2 inch pocket knife with me as I entered security... I had planned to put it in my checked bag... forgot and pulled it out right in front of the security inspector. Knowing it was about to be seized, I offered it up. "Oh, no problem you can't do much harm with that" he says. Stunned, I am allowed on the plane without taking my shoes off. I am served with real metal forks, knifes and spoons with my dinner. I did not go berserk at any time and continue to carry my favorite little (micro) swiss army pocket knife as I write this. I don't know how we get back to an era of trusting each other a tiny bit.... but the rest of the world operates a bit differently... and I will be flying on that airline again later this year. I am tired of being a suspect. I travel, I have never been a problem nor will I. 9/11 was a wakeup, but the nightmare continues.

RE: Why are we using NiMh...really?
I am moving toward LiPo in all my aircraft... NiMH is just not dependable enough... I have a lot of LiPo batteries... a BEC is cheap and I don't have to worry about loosing an airplane to a bad charge. To each their own. As far as fire... etc... I don't charge unattended... usually I top off quickly at the field..
ORIGINAL: Altered1 Hey, I'm not trying to slap you down, but there is a search button in the top right of the page that allows you to search this thread. I typed in the word ''cleaning'', and hey presto! 30 posts, with 10 pages behind it all discussing how to clean glow engines. RE: Spektrum Telemetry module and iPhone App.
That was worth at least a dime... Horizon is replacing the sensor... I think that you wrote a review on the product for their web site. I will give it another go before I change up... but you may have well saved me a lot of time... I am not happy right now. I do have the voltage, airspeed, and altitude sensors working... Is it possible to have two sensors for a twin engined plane? That would be pretty cool.
ORIGINAL: Franco2fly My 2 cents...... and mine alone based on weeks of trying to get good readings, ABANDON the electronic RPM sensor. Especially if you are using a brushless motor. The optical sensor is much more reliable gives readings across a wider range (ie. it will read down to 700RPM, and doesn't go bonkers when you back off the throttle) I believe the part is SPMA 1452 and it costs 7 bucks 5 bucks for shipping. You will need to change the connector which is a 5 minute task. KKKKFL
Problem with RPM Telemetry Sensor.... Tx=Spektrum DX8 ... Telemetry Module=TM-1000 ... rx=Spektrum AR8000 .... 3 cell power to motors. Multiplex Permax bl-480/6d (specs below) I have hooked up the RPM telemetry sensor to the motor stated above... I cannot get good rpm readings on the the DX8 radio... it is either garbage or nothing at all. I set the number of poles on the RPM screen.. it is not zeroing and at one point was over speed warning. I am using the 37amp Multiplex speed control. There seems to be a lot of lag in the readings. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? I think that it would be much less work to stay on the low side (Planes bottom) of the wing tube. In looking at jumping over the wing tube... you mean running the muffler partly exposed?

All I know is that I have been using the DX8 transmitter with many Genuine Spektrum receivers on 6 volts and I have not had a brown out since I switched to 6 volts. I am thinking of switching to all Lipos and BECs @ 6volt. I know you are having trouble and I know a guy that had a lot of issues with his DX8 radio. I feel for your loss. I field charge my DX8 before I fly.

Tail Tube for 90mm ducted fan
I have a friend looking for a tail tube (exhaust) for a 90mm ducted fan Ideally it would taper from 90 to 80mm and be around 12in long. Is this something we can guy somewhere or are we going to have to fabricate it? If we can purchase, can you please name a supplier? Thanks for your responses.

Flight Simulators for Wounded Warriors
I hope you don't mind me sticking out my hand requesting donations of Flight Simulators for the Wounded Warriors staying at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda... Yes, Bethesda Naval is renamed Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I have a group of budding dedicated helicopter pilots. We meet every Thursday in the America building with the consent of the American Red Cross. If you have a simulator you are not using and would like to donate it, please contact me. I will provide an address to ship directly to the Red Cross office on post. This is very good therapy for amputees and traumatic brain injury patients. It occupies many hours of their time at a point in their lives when they need positive things to think about. Send me a PM through the RCU system and I will get back to you. I have been building and flying planes and helicopters with these vets for a couple of years. I am looking for someone in the area to assist with the program. You will need to be able to get cleared to work on post. Background check and clearance.
