RE: Does this precut prepainted body fit ?
Thants the reason for doing a mod to this (if body mounts wont fit in width, it sure wont be aligned front to back.. but it is pretty close what i can see on pictures), it should not be to hard.. but i have to see it first in real life and then decide if it's worth modding or just making another hole in the body, hopefully i wont have to do any more holes. I have ordered those body mounts anyways, so i hope i can use them and solve it that way. If i decide to make some holes.. it's not easy to put it down perfect the first time, i would first place it in perfect position and then try to use a lightsource from below and mark it from above, if not there is always the way to measure... but that takes longer time and you have to do many measurement to rule out any faults, it does takes time and patience but will be totally perfect in the end if done right.

RE: Does this precut prepainted body fit ?
That was NOT what i wanted to hear :( (kiddin) No Foxy, i didnt really think it would fit... just hoped there was a standard in the 1/8 onroad racer section.. but i guess it's the same as any other rc out there, all heve their own way to do things ;) I think the only way to make this neat is to order a set of body mounts for the inferno gt and make them work on the ofna gtp2e or dm-1 spec e (whatever i choose), should work with some mods.. not new to mods on rc's... better then trying to make new holes in a painted body, it's enough that they made a stupid hole in the side. Thanks for your help Foxy

RE: Does this precut prepainted body fit ?
Thanks for the fast reply Foxy. I know the wheelbase and width is good, but what i was thinking as it's a precut is if the bodymonunts are in the same position, if for example the ofna gtp2 e have the same position in bodymonts as the car that this body was precut for.. think it is the kyosho inferno gt/gt2.

Does this precut prepainted body fit ?
Does anyone know if for example kyosho KYOIGB101 precut prepainted body will fit the ofna gtp2 e or dm-one spec e, if the bodymounts are the same... if there are some sort of standard to all onroad 1/8 touring cars when it comes to bodymonts. Thankful for all help i can get about this.

RE: Hyper 9 and Dm-1..
The plastic spur has a nice low noise level, it does sound much more with a metal spur... :( Not anyone who know if any parts are the same ? or if there is another car out there that has the same parts as the ofna dm-one spec e ? Does anyone know if this ofna could be made longer ? as the dm-1 pro i think its called, the 1/7 scale version.

RE: Hyper 9 and Dm-1..
I have had only good experience with metal spur and going 6s, only thing is it does sound abit more then plastic spur but they keep the drivetrain strong in my opinion. The ofna dm-1 spec e, does it have a bad original spur ? does that car come with extra spur ? is there a better quality spur to get to this car anywhere close ?

Hi! Could anyone tell me if some parts of these cars are the same... looks like they are very similar atleast. Ofna Hyper 9 Ofna Dm-1 spec e Is the front and rear lower and upper arms the same ? Chassis brace the same ? C-hubs and similar ? I just need to know what other car that has similar parts on it so i could find hoopups for a Dm-1 spec e, thanks for all your help.

RE: Whats wrong with this car ?
Thanks for the info ! I guess it wont be as low price as the redcat version :( Those times i buy a rtr i always remove the servos and radiostuff before i do anything, i know they are always crap and i just prefer to have good stuff in it from the start. Im still not sure if i want this car, havent read anything about it from people that owns one in any forum.. not the maverick anyways, but i see now that its the same as the redcat and i didnt know that before. I would love a buggy of that size and wheelbase, the mcd's are to short and no other buggy have good anough wheelbase :( but this have a strange old wheelfitting, similar to fg's old squarethings.. im just curious if there will be any wheels to get that will fit that, other then those stock.

Is there anything wrong with this buggy MAVERICK Vader XB 1:5 ? Does anyone have it and can tell me whats good and bad on it ? I just found out about this buggy and it looks real nice, sure it's underpowered, but that can be fixed. I just need to know about the quality of the car, cassis and arms and everything, so i know if it is a good base to build on.. like a project.

The Ofna ultra gt-2e sure looks cool and interresting, but i would prefer a rallycar.. something like the Ofna or a similar rallycar, atleast 1:8 size or bigger. Anyone know some high quality cars out there ? dont need to be a kit, just very high quality and well designed car. Thanks so much for all the help so far, you guys are great [sm=thumbup.gif]

RE: Really need advice on what to get..
The 5ive is a really nice truck, i love mine but havent got to drive it at any large open space yet :( and making it electric is out of the question, im not allowed cause fiance told me to keep it a gasser and that i already have to much brushless cars/trucks.. and i agree. Getting one more have crossed my mind, they are very cheap to what you get so.. but the only reason to do that would be to make that a brushless 5ive, and i already have a brushless baja 5sc ss so im in no real hurry to get another bigscale brushless as the baja is just to crazy to drive ;) And i have thought about a scale body for my big heli since i got it, but i feel i really need to learn how to fly better first.. havent crashed but i dont feel that secure about flying yet :( That big fg F1 looks great, but it's a very old model.. still a very nice car, but i really dont have the right place nearby to run something like that and fully enjoy it.
How about a poor adopted grandfather?
Yea, could be fun :) The MCD rallycar would be nice, but i cant find it with the bigger subaru body :( Any other ideas guys ?

RE: Really need advice on what to get..
Thank you guys for all the suggestions, some great ideas there.. I love building tamiya stuff, but most of the time they are not designed to take lot of abuse or be driven real hard. I am not really after a onroad only car that can go real fast straight forward, i want a fast car but that can go offroad to... something like formula offroad ;) A new baja 5b ss kit and leave it as a buggy and make something cool of it.... but maybe not :( That new thunder tigre monster truck m4... pretty cool Something from tamiya, but what to choose.. XO-1 is a really nice looking car, but dont like the ipod thing and only suitable for very flat surface. Is there a more advanced model of the "heli" with the 4 rotors ? something that feels real quality and are a littlebit bigger then the small ones i hve seen. Thought about a truggy, but i always wanna keep my cars scalelike.. Is there a bigger rallycar out there that is worth having ?

Really need advice on what to get..
I want to get a new rc for my birthday, i would prefer a kit so i can build it myself... I have: Tamiya TXT-1 (modded to a bigger size and now humer h1) Tamiya Hilift (pretty much stock and hardly used) MCD Blueline Hummer H1 1:4 HPI Savage flux hp (xl size and modded, upgraded) HPI Vorza flux (upgraded) HPI Baja sc ss kit (made into brushless directly, and now upgraded) Team Ass SC8e (upgraded) Losi 5ive (upgraded) Edit: I also have: Helis.. Align T-rex 600e Mikado 500 3d Love planes, almost finished a quarterscale mustag build long time ago, but i would like to get into something like that again. I like rallycars, but i have had a fully race 1:5 racer technokit i think it was... wasnt that fun back then anyways. Like boats and have build big ones by my own created drawings and turned out great, but have no place to use them. Now i need something that is similar in quality or better, something that is missing in my garage... i really need your help.

RE: Advice on 1st 1/5 scale
The first thing that i noticed when i open my box was the size of the shocks. The size of the truck didnt hit me that hard as i already have a hpi baja 5sc ss and they are pretty similar in size. Good luck with the truck, and do tell us your reaction when you get your losi.

RE: Advice on 1st 1/5 scale
Youre welcome tjm5837 ;) I must say i love building things, boats, planes, helis and cars/trucks... but i wouldnt enjoy it if i could only work on it 1 hour or two then having to put it all away, then bring it out again.. that would put me of bigtime and destroy the great relaxing feeling you get when you build something. Good luck, and please do post some pictures when you get it. Advice... let your wife try your new truck, it might just put a litte smile on her face... i know my fiance thinks it's fun now, almost a year ago i gave her my new slash 4x4 pe and she loves that car and drive the hell out of it.. it makes me happy she got a littlebit involved with rc finally... but so far she gives it to me for tuneups and service ;)

There is a big risk that 4wd will be boring in a short time and not feel so alive as a 2wd will in terms of advance driving.. just saying. As i said i have both the losi 5ive-t and hpi baja 5sc ss, and my personal opinion is that the losi is so hyped and overrated.. so many is jumping ship and treat the losi as a god and the hpi as trash, and im not going to write down what i think about that ;) Sure the losi 5 is a nice truck and i love it, but i love my hpi baja atleast as much as the losi even if the losi is the new kid in my collection. They both have their negatives and possitives, and in my opinion no one is better then the other. All im saying is dont get stuck in the losi wave, look around as there are many nice cars/trucks out there. Dont be to quick to deside, take your time.. it's not every week you will buy a big car/truck like these, as they do take up allot of space and demand biiiiiig space to enjoy it fully.

RE: Official Losi 26cc 5IVE-T Thread
Stay away from those x-can's, what i heard they are even worse then stock pipe. Much better to save up and get a real tunepipe, and buying a jetpro you get most bang for your money.

RE: Advice on 1st 1/5 scale
They should have put a littlebit bigger engine in the Losi, but the stock 26cc with a nice tunepipe really wakes up that engine and the truck. You just cant have it all right out of the box, and all owners of the losi will say that you get allot for the money with that truck. And dont hold your breath waiting for a newer version of the Losi, there is nothing wrong with that truck and it's pretty much like a tank so a new version will not happen for a looooooooooooooooooooooong time. I think the op on second thought should choose the redcat ;) that will be the cheapest route when buying the truck.. but it will break allot more then a baja or losi, but it is cheaper to get you started and probably cheaper parts i guess.

RE: Advice on 1st 1/5 scale
Get that Baja 5sc ss kit or a 5b kit (5sc ss kit is the newest and have the strongest parts stock in box), you will learn much and have a blast building it. In the end it's more fun to drive 2wd in my opinion, it takes more skillz to drive. A 4wd is great and almost drives itself, but it's a risk that you will get bored much sooner then you would with a 2wd. I have both a new Baja 5sc ss brushless and a Losi 5ive-T gasser with a new bestmotor in it. The losi 5ive-T 26cc engine is ok, but get a good pipe and you should be satisfied with the performance... but as many largescalers like myself you always wanna upgrade ;) The 4wd will with out a doubt demand more power then a 2wd does to have fun with it, just saying. I would get a kit for my first bigscaler, thats my opinion and 2wd is a good place to really learn driving.

RE: Official Losi 26cc 5IVE-T Thread
ORIGINAL: 46u May think large scale is slow but it only looks like it do to their size.
I totally agree. And about the price of this new Losi 5ive... everyone who say it's a high price for a largescale must be insane or just not used to the largescale market at all. The price this truck have is a great value and for me personally to compare it to my first largescale is depressing. When i bought my stock FG monstertruck long ago around christmas 2005 i think it was... and that was much smaller, 2wd, had no servos, no rx, no hoopups at all and almost everything was plastic etc... i paid more then i did for this Losi 5ive. I will remove the rx and engine (but i think the stock engine will keep many happy and are not a must change thing) but in my opinion Losi did give us a very good price on this truck, feels like they want to say... thanks for waiting, and gave us a pretty nice start with some small upgrades already on it and seams like well built and not rushed out. Yeas i know about the minor things like check the shocks and maybe two short screws in one place, but overall a very well designed truck. Bare with me, feels like im rambling because my box arrived today, and im not allowed to open it until christmas... i cant think of a more painful way to wait for christmas :(

RE: Official Losi 26cc 5IVE-T Thread
After a few weeks thinking about what to get myself for christmas i finally.. finally made up my mind ;) My truck is now on it's way by fedex to my home as im writing this, pretty excited about it :) but there is no way im allowed to open it until christmas *grrrrr* it will be guarded by my fiance and our pets :( they know i just cant stand waiting for things like this... i guess they like to torture me ;) I have already dug out a nice 29cc engine that was in another truck that i dont use, so i will put the engine from the new truck in that old truck and the 29cc in this Losi 5ive truck and use it until i find a engine i really want for this new truck, i guess 29cc is better then 26cc for the time beeing. I am using a Futaba 4pks and love it, and was thinking about getting just another rx for this truck... or maybe get a new radio, not that big difference in price;) im thinking about the Sanwa m11x.. bad idea or what you think ? Can i use tires and rims from my Hpi 5sc ss ? would be cool if i could. How can i get hold of the new tunepipes for this Losi 5ive ? somewhere in Europe... England maybe ? if i get a new radio a pipe will have to wait until next month, but if i only get a rx then i would like to get one now.

RE: New RC, I would like your help.
The first picture was cool Xerxes [sm=thumbs_up.gif] any problems with the truck ? Does anybody know of any real good scale crawlers ? something like this http://store.rc4wd.com/15-Large-Scale-Killer-Krawler-Kit-Silver_p_194.html but without the engines on the axels. When it comes to nitro engine, is there a sertain lifespan to the engine, or could they live just as long as the 2stroke gassers for the 1:5 ? to me it sounds like they have a much shorter lifespan, but i could be wrong. What would be the best strongest engine for the losi xxl ? Been away from fifthscale for a while, does anyone know if there is some sort of reverse for those yet ?

I guess i would be dissapointed on any traxxas, getting a e-revo brushless and changeing all the plastic to metal would prabably not help, and i guess there are better nitros out there then the revo 3.3 :( I do have to make up my mind no later then next week about what to get, but until then everyone is more then welcome to suggest topline rc's that i may have overlooked/missed.
