It's the Pica kit in 1/7 scale. The photo is old and unfortunately the model now needs a redo. This time I'll use silk and dope or automotive paint. No more "iron-ons" for me. Charles

RE: Raven pattern scheme
The Raven is a great airplane to model. The Raven art isn't all that difficult and there's plenty of photos available. Look on line. I guess you're thinking the bird graphicxs and Oracle. Correct? I provide graphicxs and masks, but I can also supply art, or line drawings on paper. I'm in the process of moving, but if you're in no immediate hurry, I could possibly help you with the line art. Could possibly provide vinyl graphicxs also, cuz once the art is made the rest is simple, the vinyl cutting machine just follows the line. You would have to assist. I would need measurements of your model and a wing/fuselage outline. All this will help in making the art look more like the actual aircraft. Charles www.cfcgraphics.com

My pattern ship had aluminum tubes inbeded in the wingtips at the rib center. Tubes would sreve as a balancing point because they were located on the CG. I also stuck lead in them for balancing. Served as a pivit point for spraying also. Charles

RE: HOW TO APPLY VINYL GRAPHICS
Here's the thing. All vinyl material or graphixs can be applied wet. When applied wet, it takes longer for the moisture to evaporate that's under the graphix. Because of this, the vinyl may not stick immediately. Give it time in the sun or use a heat gun (mild heat) to force dry the moisture. The transfer paper, as it is called, can be wet after the vinyl is put in place. Wetting the transfer paper will allow for it's easy removal. I use foam window cleaner available in aerosol cans. Anyone want free vinyl material to practice with or to experiment with, just PM me. Send me a SASE and I'll get material out to you. Visit the link I have above. I explain how to get free material from your local sign shop and how to cut your own graphix. This Waco model has vinyl material for all the lettering, numbers and the white line seperations. Aerodyne's Beechcraft Baron G58?
Any information or news about this model G58 offered by Aerodyne? There was much talk about this model at one time. RE: Funny how things change....
I'm new to Jets and just getting into it. Scratching the surface at the moment. Also scratching a C-101 Aviojet, which could be a good first jet. Plenty of wing area and the airframe resembles that of a prop job. However, I don't think I'll be using this as my first jet. To much to loose? I'll probably purchase a good used "out of the box" trainer from someone that has progressed beyond trainers. There must be a ton to buy? Charles

RE: Yet Another 310 Songbird
Kudos on the "Songbird" builds. I have the Songbird art/graphixs for tha era. Including the Flying Crown Ranch graphixs. I'm moving, but I'll dig them up in Oct. Remember to PM me then and I'll send a set out to those that have the Songbird, at no charge. Yes, I can make them different sizes. Just send a SASE. I have everything needed to bulid the Songbird, as the T-50. I'm debating to finish it as the Songbird or something else. The Songbird II is also a nice model, but my current interest is the first Songbird. Probably has something to do with my age. Watching that series, as a child, probably led me to become the washed out pilot, I am now, but wasn't for over 25 years. Great series, great airplane, great characters. Inspired me. RE: HOW TO APPLY VINYL GRAPHICS
I actually make and offer model airplane graphixs but also run a sign business. I use professional products to apply the larger graphics for cars or trucks. Costs 21.00 a gallon. So, I us the wife's foam window cleaner for all my model stuff. A light coat works fine on both the back of the graphix and the surface. Plenty of time to slide it around and place it where it belongs. Please visit this RCU link, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8462647/anchors_8462647/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#8462647 There is information there about applying and making Graphixs that could be of some use. Absolutely! I'm in the process of moving, but when I get settled I expect to finish the Post and that model. Charles www.cfcgraphics.com

RE: share ideas instead of just saying
In your photo, I don't understand the thread that is following the length of the rib? Never knew it was used or needed. The method I know of is the following: A jig is set up, on a board, with brads spaced properly apart for the number of rib threads. Two rows of brads set at whatever distance. String or thread is laced from brad to brad in a constent loop. Silk or some material is placed over it and doped. (Possibly doped over a piece of glass. Single edge blade would remove it. Possibly over waxed paper?) When dry, it's cut, #11 blade, into the required widths. These strips are laid onto the already covered wing and doped into place. The last piece of wing material, pinking tape, can be placed over this. This isn't my method, I read this in a Mag years ago. This is all I remember. I'm probably forgetingn something? Possibly a step or two. Anyone remember this "how to" article. I may have it someplace? Charles

I'm now thinking of making two trips. One trip for the model stuff and one trip for the home furnishings. Smaller trucks, more convienent and less money. Even with the 26 footer, I may have to make two trips. Charles

RE: Moving 40 years of scale models?
I was going to rent a 26' truck for all the home furnishings plus my model stuff. Thought I'd put the model stuff in last. Be safer that way. Heavy stuff in the front like my compresser, welder, rack'm stack'm tools. Then the heavy home fernishings. Last would be all my model stuff. I cannot box the framed up wings and fuselages. I was going to wrap them in movers blankets and place them in areas where they cannot get damaged then cover them with a few more blankets. Hoping they would be fine. Movers wanted $6.5K and we do the boxing. This price doesn't include any model stuff in the basement or tools in the garage. The movers never looked in the basement or in the garage. The truck rental is $1,200.00. Gas is about $700.00. Figured out at seven miles to the gallon. I'll sleep in the truck. [:(] I know no other way. Charles

I'm looking for new wing kits for the Balsa USA Phaeton 90. If I strike out on RCU. I'll purchase what I need from Balsa USA. They may just sell wing kits. Used wings would be fine also. Good remains from a mishap OK too. Popular airplane, so there may be wings around. Thanks, Charles BFC #2
