RE: East Coast Pattern Championships
Hey Don, Thanks for the updates,..looks like a great time! [:D] I had some equipment problems arise last week, so I decided it best to just wait to compete when I have everything resolved. My field power supply went out (after disassembly and some circuit board testing with my multi-meter; I found a bad diode, easy fix). My aging but lightly used batteries from 2009 will only get me through 5 minutes of either sequence. The motor mount I purchased for the Hacker A60-7S-V2 I installed in my primary VF3 (former YS) was twisting/moving causing some very odd flying characteristics. The mount is actually a nice mount, but in an effort to lighten the setup I cut some of the rails short. Apparently those inter-locking rails help to prevent the twisting problem. I spent all day yesterday building a new wooden box type mount. I need to spend some money with F3A Unlimited this week. Bill

RE: 150 meter rule.
Hard to say. I would have to measure out 150 meters or 500 feet from the pilot station using the "box" center line and set a cone or something out there to reference while I fly. I know a few pilots that spent lots of time learning to be as exact to the 150 meters as possible over the years. Good question? Pretty sure I don't. bholsten

RE: Foam wing help
I personally would not do it after the sheeting is on, because it will give you a larger leading edge piece to deal with out on the tip. However, no harm in giving that a try, don't think it will yield the results your looking for in fast snapping wings. bholsten

RE: Hacker A60-7S V2 28 Pole Motor
Hey Joe, The Batteries are from around Jan. 2009 and have only been used for about 25 flights. I have not used them since 2009, since I have been overseas a bit. I am ordering new batts fro Chris at F3A Unlimited. I also have a slightly newer Rhino 4900 pack from mid year 2009. I have been using them the past few weeks doing some testing on and off. I charged them for the first time a few months ago and the Ohm's per cell were good, around 3.84 across the board. Todays charge I noticed 4 cells over 5-6 ohms (not good). I use a CellPro charger. RE: Pheonix ICE 80-HV Firmware help.
I got it work finially. Chris; I am running the 4.01Beta firmware and I have no idea what works best thus far. Joe; I am using the castle Link from the PC to the CC 80 HV. This what I did: I went over my notes from Tech. Support again. I switched from "several" firmware versions loaded them and ran the motor,..NO log data and same error. I defaulted the control settings, cleared the log, plugged up everything and ran the motor. again, not log data and same error. I then change the default program back to the program settings posted on RCU that Chis sent me the link to. I loaded that change to the CC80 HV, plugged everything back in and ran the motor at idle for a moment. I had log data this time, so I proceeded to do this three more time to make sure it was not a fluke. All seems good IN CC land. Thanks for the replies guys! Anyone interested I will post some data on the Hacker A60-7S-V2 on the current blog. Thanks, Bill

I have just installed one also. Currently I can not down load my Log from the CC-80 HV, as it continues to give me the "Failed to purse Data log?" I was able to retrieve it once in the beginning. Anyway, anyone have any numbers on a APC 20.5x14, as that is what I am trying to get static numbers on? Thanks, Bill

Ok,... After I did the requested update I can not retreive my data anymore. It tells me "An error occured trying to purse the data log?"
