RE: Prop choice for a Pletty. What's the background?
Chad is correct,........I run the 21x14 APC on my Pletty and it works very well in all conditions. If I am flying in really windy conditions I will change back to the 20.5x14 as I think it adds the extra punch needed for windy conditions and it pulls about the same Mah as the 21x14 would. I just tried the RASA 20x15 as an experiment,...really fast,.....use way less throttle as it carries more speed at a lower stick position. Also with the 20x15, if you have not gotten use to the EP power you can really put a hurt'en on your packs, if you hammer the throttle throughout the sequence (not practical but useable). Also,...a thing to remember is guys like Chad, Dave L, Jason and lots of others "others" have done lots of experimental research over the years with different motors, props, batteries, etc to help get EP where it is today. Asking questions is the correct thing to do,....I did and still do, as EP is still new to me aswell. RE: New Fliton Element 30 F3A plane!
I don't know much about the scorpion 30? I am using a Highmax 3522-0700 with a 12x7e prop, 4s 2800 LIpo and a E-flight 40 amp ESC. I am not having any problems with the setup. Does your motor make a screeching noise at full throttle? Do you have enough ducting for the intake and the rear fuse exit (I used some depro to channel the air through and across the batteries aswell). Regards, Bill Holsten

RE: Airtronics SD10G for pattern
I flew Airtronics Spectrum 7 PCM for years and went to the Stylus which I really love and still have. The only reson I switched was it became more and more difficult to buy stuff for it and a anther I won't mention. Overall the quality of the equipment is fantastic and I nearly switched back before I was given a great deal on a 14MZ and switch from my pain in the *ss to program 9Z,..still like the radio. Airtronics has some of the best servos on the market,..not many people know about. I would switch back to Airtronics, but it would take one heck of a deal to pry the 14MZ from my hands (my last Futaba radio also). cdodom,....congrats on the Team Airtronics,..if I hadn't been screwed back in 1998 I'd still be an Airtronics guy. Bottom line,.....you can't go wrong with the radio,...easy to use, easy to program if it's anything like the Stylus programming. Regards, Bill Holsten FAI/F3A Dist#2

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2M?
The market could sure use a product like this to fill the void of the Focus and short lived Elements. The Aquila is still a good contributor to the sagging sector of patten ARFs,....options and more options are a good thing! IMOP,..the nose looks more similar to PL Partners front end.[:D] BH

Your welcome Mike,........thanks for the great design! I have a month to work my *SS off to get back to level I was flying at earlier in the year. It's a matter of pride to finish the year strong at the last contest in Nov. and put up my best performance before I switch to the 11's. It was good to see you and Melissa. RE: Is it Electric really worth the trouble ?
I am flying both at the moment YS170 and a Pletty 30-10 EVO,..........it just comes down to your flying style and your expectations. I am favoring the EP, as the performance is there. I like the YS170 as it's just a "BEAST" with "CRAZY" power when you want it and very reliable. (pretty much what everyone else has said already) So, for me it comes down to which one do I score better with, at the moment the YS170, but I only have about 20 flights on the EP...time will tell.[:D] Bill Holsten

RE: I cannot dispute this statement
I totally agree with Don,....I have two VF3's one w/a YS170 with the anhedrals (10lbs exactly) and one EP without the anhedrals (10lbs.13 oz with weight to shed). I may at this point have 40 flights between the two of them and the planes are just AWESOME! I prefer the anhedral stabs as the inverted stuff is even better and less down elevator is required for pushing and it turns corners better,..IMOP. The plane is just a very true flying plane with no negatives. I fly the FAI schedules aswell and currently I have no mixing in my planes,....they are both about 98% mix free and the 2% I don't worry about right now. If you don't fly or practice alot like myself here lately,...the VF3 is like putting your favorite pair of shoes on,...it's just easy to fly. I am looking for VF3 number 3,...probably in the EP flavor. I have made the statement several times now,.."this plane has no expiration date",..it can fly anything and do it easily! There are some really great new designs out,...the VF3 is at the top with all of them. The one roll rolling loop from the top is one that convinced me,..the "M" is easy. Anyhow,...my two cents on the subject,....[:D] Don,..your welcome to fly mine with the anhedrals, if you haven't flow one with them yet?
