Same in Athens 2004, no rc planes close to all Olympic installations. Nothing serious, don't worry. The same way we follow the rules of our hobby, a few times in our life we have to accept some limitations when something big is happening.

The answer was that there is a regulation that restricts them to do so because they don't want their planes to be shiny and visible from a great distance. That for you never see Greek F-16 and Mirage 2000 that are the frontline fighters carrying special coloration, squadron emblems or high visibility markings. They do that only to older aircraft that are at the end of their life. In new fighters they aply removable decals at the vertical fin that remove at the end of the event they aply them for.
