RE: School Me on Fixing My DLE 20 With a Bent Crank
Spinnerow Remove the cylinder, remove the rear crankcase half. Then use a flat tip punch on the outer bearing race to reseat the crankshaft bearing back into the front case half and your feeling of a bad bearing or bent crank will be gone.

Gentlemen For what its worth I have found the tip of the needle stuck in the seat after a lengthy storage time on three occasions at least. Might be worth a look at beginning of the flying season.

RE: Hall Springfield Bulldog build
Ok Bigphil I will describe the flight from and observers point of view along with the gentlemen who flew it for me. 1) Take off early rudder required 2) Flight rudder and elevator very effective ailerons sluggish ( recommend coupled rudder ailerons) 3) Power off glide very good 4) Landing (off field) to be determined later Surface deflections: Rudder 3/4 left 3/4 right Elevator 3/4 up 3/4 down Ailerons 1 up 3/4 down Hope this helps

RE: Hall Springfield Bulldog build
Nice job with the planking Bigphil. I agree that the wing mounting system is a weak point. There is not much of a glue area for the root rib to glue to, so I hope you find a better mounting system. If you do use the current system be sure to support the wing so it doesn't hang on the root rib until the wing strut is attached. One other tip use longer bolts than necessary and grind the ends of the bolt to a point. This will help to locate and guide the bolt into the blind nuts. I found with mine that the bolt threads would catch on the plate and would push the blind nut out as I screwed the bolts in. I also used this trick on bottom of the strut to locate the strut attach point. I hope this helps your doing a great job.

RE: Hall Springfield Bulldog build
Good morning bigphil Just got in on your build and it looks like your doing a fine job. My Bulldog suffered a bad landing requiring a little repair. Now that the repairs are complete I have found that I have no compression in one of the cylinders on my 3W 150 probably from dirt .

RE: Anyone familiar with the TMM 53cc gasser?
I have been flying my Katana for two seasons now and enjoy the easy start power of the TMM 53engine. Only problem I ve had is the threads in the prop hub seem to strip easily. I don't believe I am too heavy handed but I have lost two hubs.

RE: Hall Bulldog Racer ARF
Vampire Thanks for the inquire about the Bulldog. The 97" Bulldog plans are from Don Neill ( his son Gary is selling the plans). The Bulldog is powered by a 3W 150 and weighs in at 42 lbs.The wood came from Precision Kit Cutters. A good friend of mine did the construction while my Grandson and I covered with it Stits, built the cowl ,wheel pants, dummy engine, detailed (rib stitched and installed rivets) and painted it with Aerothane. Yes she flew though the flight was short due to a engine out. It was exciting to see it in the air and hear the drone of the 3w 150. Unfortunately the landing fell a little short of the field probably because of the high wing loading. The repairs are well on the way and it will be flown again.
