Does anyone run the new TD Stadium Truck? I am just looking for any first hand experience on how these trucks are.

What plane is this?
I picked up this plane today, and not really sure what it is. The wing span is 84" and the fuselage length is 55". Its a well built plane. If anyone knows anything about it maybe you can share some info with me. Thanks

SCOTT42 - What happened with your wing failiure? I have a GP .60 with an O.S. .61FX and sport pipe and it flies great. I was worried I wouldnt have the power I wanted but there is more than enough. I enjoy the looks of it more than the Hangar 9 version.

I have a 300S from GP and it flies really well. I have been flying for a little over a year also. I have not flown a Yak yet so I cant speak to that. Im not sure what else you fly to help compare it to.

RE: Spektrum DSMX
I have tried searching for any info, but havent really came up with anything yet. So I thought that I would ask some of you guys. Everyone at our field flies DSM2, except for one guy, and he has put a couple planes down. Im not really sure what recievers he was using, they could of been the ones that wouldnt work with the DSMX. he sent the radio back to Horizon to get it checked out and what not. I would like to upgrade to a newer radio, but I also want to make sure that all the bugs are worked out. I have had my own issues with some of the name brand Spektrum recievers in the past and it cause 2 planes to have some ground induced maintenance.

I have heard some bad things about the new DSMX radios. Some of the guys at our field say stay away from it. I am using a DX6i with DSM2 but I would really like to get a new DX8 but not to sure about DSMX. Anyone have any good input?

RE: ARF's ruined my hobby
ARF's have expanded the hobby to people that may not have the skills to build a kit. I have been in the hobby for a little over a year now and started with ARF's but now I have built 2 kits. If you put a kit in front of someone that is new to the hobby and explain to them heres your plane, most people would turn the other way and run. If it werent for ARF's we wouldnt have 3/4 of the people we have at our field.

RE: Slowing down after landing
Thanks HoundDog. As for this plane I really like it the way it looks and flies but I am alot more cautious of it that the others. I fly some of my others like a rag doll and I know what to expect out of them. But I play it alot more safe with the 300.

RE: Slowing down after landing
Thanks for everyones input. I flew it 3 more times today and was able to slow her down alot better. Even before today I used a long straight in final, but wasnt as confindent with slowing her down so much. I slowed it down alot more this evening so it would settle down on the approach end of the runway. I always stand in the middle secion of the runway and land right at the approach end. I have never had a problem with putting it down in front of where i am standing or after. We are really lucky here to have 4 runways in all directions so I always land into the wind to help slow it down some. I have not had anyone else fly it, mainly cause theres very few people out there and most of them have less expiereance then I do, or if they have more expereance they really suck at landing. I have been flying for over a year and have flow a few different types of planes, from Alpha 40, PZ Corsair, PZ Habu, PZ Mustang, GP Extra 300, Yak-54, Sig Somethin Extra, and had great success with all of them. I also get to fly about 2-4 days a week depending on the winds, So i guess i wouldnt say I am a beginner but im definatly not as expierianced as alot of people. This plane just seemed to not want to slow as much, but after working with it today I got it a bit slower and came in real nice. It just took 13 flights to get there. Thanks to everyone for thier help and inputs.

RE: Slowing down after landing
I am pretty happy with my approach and touchdown. I have a pretty shallow approach on final, and i touchdown at the end of the runway so i have the full length to stop. The plane handles great and I dont want to change any characteristics of it. The only thing I really want is to stop it after touchdown. So i will try the Spoilerons, and even sliding the CG back a little bit. I am pretty familiar with full scale techniques from my job. But we also have brakes on our aircraft!

RE: Slowing down after landing
I'm glad to hear everyones answers. I have checked the CG and it is spot on, I was hoping to go fly today but the weather is on the crappy side. I will look at moving the CG back just a touch and see how that works and also look into the spoilerons.

RE: Slowing down after landing
@ Bingo field, I love your solution!! @ RCVFR - She gets slowed down decent on final, not i have a few other things to try. I do know about the elevator=speed, and throttle=altitude, I know alot of people that dont know about it so its good that you point that out. @CGRetired - I havent done a downwind landing yet only because I am still getting use to the plane (9 flights) so I have only done long finals, but Im getting more confident now so im sure the downwind final will be soon! @Oberst - I read through the manual for my radio and just realized that I skipped over some of the more detailed setting up. So this afternoon she will have a flaperons set up! I really wish we had a grass runway out at the field, we have some very nice asphalt runways so i can complain to much. Here she is......

RE: Slowing down after landing
I am landing on Asphalt, the idle is as low as I can get it, The prop is a 12x6 on an OS .61FX. I will try the fuel tubing on the axles. And I will try and set the ailerons to full up with a switch. If anyone has any input on that let me know. Im using a Spektrum DX6i radio. As for killing the engine on final, I have thought about that but I would rather have it running just in case I need it for a go around.

Slowing down after landing
How do you guys slow down your planes after touchdown. I have been flying for a while and havent had this issue with any of my other planes. But I have a GP Extra 300 .40 size. She flies great and landings arent bad but she comes in a bit hot sometimes and I use most of the runway to slow down. So i am wondering what methods everyone uses to slow them down after you land.

RE: Cold weather which Glow Plug?
I have some OS #8 plugs also and I run them in a couple of my engines. We only flew one plane the other day when we had the issue. I havent flown any of my planes in the winter time, since i usually go overseas for the winter, so this year is a first. I have had plug go bad from running it to lean, but didnt think about it the other day since a couple days before all the engines ran like a champ. So I will richen it up and give her another shot. Thanks guys for all your inputs. I really appreciate it!

Cold weather which Glow Plug?
Cold weather which Glow Plug? I went out to fly the other day and it was a bit cold, probably in the mid 40's, I went through 2 glow plugs and didnt get a full flight out of either of them. The died about half way through flight and where done for! I have been using Fox Hot plugs with idle bar, far over a year and havent had any issues out of them unitl now. What do you guys use for your glow plugs when the weather gets cold? I dont remember having any issues last year when it started cooling off.

I am looking to move into the world of larger planes. I am looking for s Giant Big Stick or something in that range. I have an OS 1.60FX just sitting around begging to be put on something. Wouldnt mind if it were a kit or an ARF. Would like to hear from some of you guys on what you reccomend and who I can find it from. I have found Great Planes ARF and Aircraft Modelers Research. Open to all suggestions.
