RE: Q40 servos
In reply to that faulty lead, I suppose if you had a decent radio / wire leads / servos that matched the radio set you wouldn't get problems. My suggustion is go buy a Futaba 12 FG 2.4 & your troubles will be over. LOL

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
Brainiax where did you put your battery pack in the Revolver. I also have a 0S 70 Surplus in my Revolver with a 600 Mah battery pack Futaba Nicads I put my battery pack under the servo tray behind the rudder & elevator to wards back of fuse. I read some guys have put the battery pack on the fire wall box, I found this to be to nose heavy thats at 110 mm from leading edge. What do you think?

RE: Composites
I welcome all of you guys comments, on composites. So if they were cheaper you guys would be flying, no matter what your flying skills were like? I know that a composite would be No faster than a good woody, so all this is relates around what can I afford? Even thou 424 racing over there is your beginers class for Q500. If the guys were flying in a competition, & they were getting beaten by a faster woody every time would they give up because there woody racer was to slow! As mentioned before what would happened if some one was racing a woody racer, & cleaned up a Composite racer? I can not see just because a composite is more exspensive you cant use it? Where is the logic? At the end of the day, what does it matter as long as you a racing & having fun, whether its a woody or composite? We are all out there to try & win & have fun? So if you want to get a better air frame you have to move on to the class you guys call 428 with a Nelson or Jett to use a composite? Any way guys I hope this all sort of makes sense to you all, & hope one day composites will be cheaper to purchase. Any way cheers for all the comments

RE: Composites
I see your guys point! but there is no difference in 428 quickie than 424 quickie. Both could use composites & fly in the same racers on the day but just switch over engines for the class of racing. A 424 composite would be no more exspense than 428, if any thing the 428 would be more exspensive than a 424 because of the brand of engine. Pehaps there should be a sportmans class for new beginners in pylon like we have here in New Zealand. I can not see composites getting any cheaper to buy than $400. If you are going to race & compete you should have the best & be allowed to use it! I myself dont fly your 428 class 1 because I would have to pay out Aleast $500/ 600 New Zealand dollars to get a Nelson or Jett engine! Where I can buy any 46 size engine for under $200 dollars. And the other reason is there is not enough guys racing it in New Zealand. I share every bodys thoughts.

Composites
I cant beleive you guys aren't using composites in 424 Quickie racing. The only arf on the market at the moment is the Viper, which would take longer to put together than a composite racer! Stupidity when there are composites ready available over there to race! Sure there would be some good woodies that will go as fast as a composite, but the problem is that one must build several to get a good one. All composites are the same & all work. I reckon most guys that race pylon would have more money than time! This is why composites are the way to go.

Hi guys, Thanks for all the imformation on the V-tails verse standard tails. Just wondered if a standard tail would be as fast as a V-tail, but it seems not. So I will make it a V-tail.

Q500 Racers!
Hi there guys, Just want to know from some of you, your thoughts on a v-tail versers a standard tail. I know there has been a thread on this before, but I'm just thinking about what to do for my next plane! Is a v-tail faster than a standard tail because of less drag? 0r do you guys think there is no difference. 0r I suppose it depends on how good the flyer is thst is racing the model? Your thoughts thanks.

RE: Viper Pitch issue
Hi Guys, Well I have been racing Pylon here in new Zealand Approximately 10 years, give or take a couple. Any way I do not ever use EXPO on a pylon racer? The only Expo I use is on my Right rudder, 100% Neg been Futaba set, & thats only for take off, & so when I'm flying & using the Elevater & I dont move the rudder unless I move it all the way across with the stick? I'm sure Dubb Jett wrote a article on using Expo in Pylon Racers, ages ago. My movements on all my racers, are only 3 / 4mm & thats on Elevator & Ailerons. I land & take off with the same amount of stick, never had a problem. But I do have D/R set just in case I need more throw for some reason.

Gunfighter. All the ones that I have had come from Tower Hobbies & Australia. At the end of the day they are all made in the same factory. I would check your CG. As I said in my previous post that the guys that do race here competitverly in the North Island & the South Island of New Zealand that I know of have not had trouble with the incidence on there Vipers.

RE: Viper Pitch issue
I have had a couple of Vipers, & Both of them have flown perfectly. I do not beleive it is a Incidence problem, if it was it would either go up serverely or down. I reckon its radio gear? Guys here in New Zealand that I have flown at the Nationals with, have had no Incidence problem with the Vipers, & we have a few of them floating around. The only problem I & a few others have found is that they are very weak in places, & needs strengthening. These vipers have been designed by experts, flown & tested, prioir to putting on the market, I cant see them selling a Pylon Racer that is unsafe or doesn't fly correctly? Trevor I have read a few posts that you have put on RCU they always seem to be about Incidence on the Vipers, you are the only one in New Zealand that I have heard of, having trouble with incidence on the Vipers? perhaps its the way you are setting them up?

Hi There, Has this plane got any bad faults, EG: Taking off, Landing, or flying it? I heard that when released from taking off they seem to climb some thing shocking? How has your slingshot stood up to racing? Is it holding together 0K? What class of racing are you doing with it 424 or 428? Thanks.
