RE: RBC TA-183 FINAL BUILD EDF
Hi Juan Your Ta-183 Looks great! When I balanced mine I used a Great Planes CG balancer from the bottom of the wing. For the first flight I made it a little nose heavy and I only needed to move the battery back a few millimeters, I also balanced it laterally so one wing wasn't heaver then the other. Good luck with the maiden and remember The ta-183 will glide so setup for a long landing approach. Doug

Webesnag If you want to use electric retracts I installed a set of E-Flite 25-46 90 mains and a 105deg nose retract in the 52" Bronco. They have held up great got about 30 flights on them with no problems.
ORIGINAL: WEBESNAG Ron, I tried to open it and it opened for me. That's for the 52'' Bronco. Anybody know anyone selling retracts for the 52''?
RE: OV-10 Bronco 81
Gaines Full flaps would be the next thing to try also on 8 cells you where getting some good speed out of it at 60% throttle have you tried 7 cells? This would remove some weight, also you said you where coming back with half packs maybe going down the 4000 packs would reduce some more weight as well. How high is your wing loading?

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81
Wayne Congrats on the first 2 flights the bronco is a nice and easy twin to fly. I got 3 flights now on my 52" Bronco with the retract mod but I keep having problems with the gear doors so I'm pulling them off for the rest of the season. I also have to adjust the mains so I get more positive pitch for takeoffs. If I have a good head wind takes offs are good but this past weekend wind was low and takes offs where long. I was on Hobby hangars web site last night looking up price info for a buddy that whats to buy a Bronco and I found out that the 81" Bronco arf is no longer available. He wanted an 81" but i guess he will have to settle for the 52'. I have flown both and the are equally great flying planes.

Watch out the AMPS get in your blood quick![:D]My 81"ARF is setting waiting for the new a electric motor setup at this time I'm out of funds. I put retracts in my 52" Electric Bronco and hoping to fly it this weekend but so far this Year has been very windy. Most days have been from 15 to 20MPH and the last few days have been from 20 to 30mph, I hope we get a break soon....

It is broken on both sides but I believe it is repairable. Here is some pic's let me know what you think, I know some think I should keep it because of this situation but I can't sit here and do nothing. Doug

RE: RBC TA-183 FINAL BUILD EDF
Juan getting close are your knees starting to knock?[:D] What was the paint scheme you chose? As for me I just got finished with a 6 week long trip and know my son came home for a visit from the Marines so no progress on my Huck. I did repair the retracts and air leaks now I need to reinstall and retest them. I still need to fix a small crack in the right wing panel shouldn't be a big problem, the Spektrum receiver is in then I need to test the EDF unit. If all goes well I should be able to fly it in a few weeks.... I hope! We been having a windy "15 to 35mph winds" Spring so far hopefully Summer will be different. Doug

Juan It's and out of production Sapac Typhoon Euro Fighter foamy. My buddy just used water base enamel paint for the tiger Meet Scheme on the Typhoon. But he does use PPG enamel on high end projects as well. He told me I need to clear the paint to protect it so I'm testing some flat clear to make sure it is compatible with the foam.

Hi Juan Great videos! Funny I get the same response from my family when I run one of my edf planes. The Ta-183 looks great but I just noticed you haven't install the wing fences. You are going to install them right? The Ta-183 needs them for stable flight.

Hi Juan Your Huck is looking good it looks just about ready to paint did you choose you scheme yet? At the moment I don't have Ta-183 to fly just been working to much but that should change soon. I also purchased a second 90mm Ta-183 has is almost flight ready. It flew back on the mid 2004-2008 and had a nicad setup in it. I need to change the ESC and update the transmitter to 2.4gig. RE: OV-10 Bronco 81
Thanks Gaines for post the pics that work out very well! I'm in the middle of reworking my Bronco to save some weight after adding a set of retracts. I have the batteries in the fuselage and extensions leads with dean connectors running through the wing to the esc's. I'll save a few ounces by removing the extensions leads and cutting some weight on other areas should get me back to my target weight.

RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat
Does anybody know if the KMP kits where numbered? I just picked up a composite Tigercat this passed weekend I've looked it over and but couldn't find any numbers in the fuselage. Boy the fuselage is long! Col Winter I heard you made a modification to strengthen the center support of the wing by cutting open the bottom and tying the wing tubes with a aluminum bar. Is the bar just installed into the tubes and epoxied in or did you do something different. Lastly is anybody using the KMP struts only? I have a set of gen-3's, the retracts are junk but the struts don't look bad. I found I could easily adapt them to my Robart retracts pretty easily. I only have to make some small changes to the struts to make them reliable. See pic's

This was his comment on post# 795 All, Thanks for the kind words, they're much appreciated. The plastic parts for the Bronco problem may have resolution. I am awaiting samples from a new vendor to check the quality and, if all goes well, parts for my Broncos and other designs should be available in the near future.
