RE: F9F Panther
Hi I can't indicate about the other, only about what we own. We, my partner and I, own the Fei Bao Panther, and with the Evojet 140 it is a very good combination. It has a very good appearance in the sky, fly like it is on rails, and no bad flight behavior. Very nice plane. Avi

RE: ESM LA-7 From VQ Warbirds
Hi guys.. I have a robart tail retract in my LA_7 IF Anyone is interested I can post some photos of the install. I made a few mods to the system to make it move thru more range of travel. I have a video of it in operation on utube if you care to see it. Just look up nzkiwibandit It's great to see all the good ideas coming thru for this model. once it is flying you will be very satisfied.

Custom tyco bandit 1/10 scale clone
I started on a 1/10 scale red Bandit a while back but now im gonna see what i can do making a 1/10 black Bandit. Its gonna be based off the king cab/hilux monster with the traxxas trans and for wheels im gonna start with the SEE's vintage aluminums. I will post pictures as the build goes on, next is to cut out the bandit/9.6v decals then hand make the bumpers and roll bar from aluminum

RE: ESM LA-7 From VQ Warbirds
Whew!!! That was a scary take off. Well done on picking up that left wing so quickly. That engine performed really nice. looked rock solid in flight. What did you end up setting your C.o.G at? I have one of these aircraft with a Saito 325 fitted. It has 22 flights on it now and is a real pleasure to fly. Nice flight and a great landing. Good luck with the cockpit fitting. Some pics of your tail wheel retract system would be nice to see when you get it done. I went with this option on my one and it looks very clean in the air when a low pass is performed. Trev.

Radio shack Enforcer: Hobby conversion w/ 550 titan and waterproof
I converted this radio shack enforcer to a hobby truck and it has to be the most difficult conversion ive ever done. But it was done right and functions amazing. It is ready to hit the mud, rain, snow, sand and rocks with front/rear lockers, full water proof electronics and all the bottom end torque it will ever need. Top speed is around 20mph in hi gear using an 11.1v lipo. This is absolutely night and day a huge improvement in every aspect. It has approximately 10x the stock power. Here is a quick video putting around on a cinder block running 11.1v lipo with the speed control turned to 50% power. The battery still needs to be mounted up front and low and cutting the axle mounts should keep it from getting hung up. http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc484/4runnerhouse/69542E91-1989-41DD-A384-E4C651A0A62D-827-00000094A890A3C0.mp4 The video at the bottom might not work Full specs: Motor: 550 Titan motor custom fit onto the factory motor mount and running a 19t pinion instead of the stock 8t. Took hours to align and fit correct so that the pinion meshes perfect with the first gear. Rear axle: I used an axle from an intruder which has half the ratio and helps a bunch for crawling and I have locked the rear differential. Ive already stripped 2 drive gears out but found a wider replacement for the weakest link. I will find or make metal gears if I have to. Front axle: Since it runs off the ratio of the rear there is no need to re-gear and the differential is also locked. Steering: waterproof traxxas 2056 servo mounted on the front axle using axial steering links. It steers sharp, precise, has no slop and will fully turn the tires easily even on carpet. Speed control: Traxxas VXL-3S waterproof Radio: airtronics fm synthesized radio with receiver mounted inside a traxxas waterproof box (not pictured yet) Battery: 11.1v 2100mah lipo for 10mph in low and 20mph in high. Will crawler over anything with the lightest amount of throttle in low gear and still crawl in high gear. It is the perfect power setting running the speed control at 50% power to keep from stripping the gears. 7.4v 8000mah lipo works great at full or half power for crawling. can run for about 5 hours minimum lol. Weight reduction: Front intruder bumper cut down for clearance Gas tanks removed battery latches removed Rear bumper removed Lexan nissan hardbody ready to mount with velcro future mods: metal gears, scale winch and 4 link suspension Video: climbing a cinder block w/ 11.1v lipo set to 50% power in low gear Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos This one is just a picture but I will post the videos soon 4 light led bar up top. After finishing the ailerons, the main retracts houses were the next thing to do, so with the measurements which were given by massimo (thank you, massimo..) and the plane plan, the retracts houses places were cut in the wing and the houses were glued and sanded

No sanding, just wait for the paint to melt, then scrape it off.
Hi David Thank you for your advice... but it is too late. the rising and falling of the calypso
Hi The day for the calypso maiden has come for today. We tuned the engine for working well after messing with it, and up to the runway. My partner was on the sticks, and gave it to run. Immediately the plane jump to the air and was so nice in the air as no trim was needed. After some turns a cuban eight was applied and suddenly my partner shouted " I have no elevator" and the plane smash on the runway at almost 90 degree full speed, and you can see the consequences [:o] Very first inspection was elevator servo failure ,never mind for right now the servo brand because we are not sure this is the reason. After some deep search we will conduct to be sure I'll know for sure what has happened, right now the fact is the calypso has gone. Avi

RE: Renovation, reconstruction, and building of a very nice classic plane
..../ After finishing the retracts houses I realized that without the front wheelןit wouldn't be possible to make the mains wheels bays, so I moved to work on the front of the fuse. , which became to me to understand that it will be a lot of work because it was ugly and horrible situation (as you can see in the pictures), and follows to that I had to change all the front retract because of the e-flight electric front retract. I also found out that the height of the cauling was not as same as the fuse. so a trim with a balza sheet was done.

Hey Auggie Following to my last post and your last one, I can see and remember the poor fiberglass fuse. But!!! in the right price it is worth it. very much worth it!! You will have a lot of work on the fuse. with heat gun and filler to get it in shape but again, in the right price it is worth it. Avi

RE: Renovation, reconstruction, and building of a very nice classic plane
Hi friends After several years of delay, buck to business with the Komet. I had my friend to make me the wings, after receiving the wings sketch and profiles from a very nice guy from Italy, Massimo his name... Thank you Massimo!!!! How wonderful the world today with the internet! I will try to update with my working on the plane, although I'm a very slow worker. First was to get the wing in shape according to the sketches, because I received the wing halves a little bit long then it is has to be, and a strait shape in the wing tips where it has to be special angle shape. I'll put some pictures later. Next to follow Regards Avi

I wish I had a picture of it when I was young.... [:(]. I had the same kit of the Magic, and as I remember the wings quality was good, but the fuselage quality was poor, and it had to be a lot of filler, for example, for the finish. It is far far below the standard we are using and can see today, the fiberglass fuselage work was not so good! Hope I helped you and enjoy with it. Avi

RE: steering upgrade 4x4 offroad rc
I looked at your video and it appears you are on the right track. To make your steering function it looks like you need to flip your servo around that way the output is further away from the tie rods. Then you can use you your stock servo arm and stack it on top so the throw is correct, or buy an after market that has a farther throw. The circular arm you are using will never get the correct steering throw so you must swap out the arms. Just remember, the tie rods need to be level so if you either switch arms or stack on your factory arm be sure to move the servo up or down to make them level. This will make a major impact on how the truck steers

RE: New Bright 9.6v 1997 F150: hobby conversion
Thanks, To setup the steering I used the original steering arm and basically stacked it on top of an arm that fit on the servo. I took a high strength servo arm that fit on the 1/10 scale servo and cut a groove in it so that the original arm would sit flat on the aftermarket so I could screw it down tight. Then to reinforce it I ran a screw through both of them close to where the tie rods go on so it wouldnt spin on the aftermarket arm. It is super strong and still has its original steering throw so it works excellent. I will have to post you a picture soon.

my Calypso nearly done
Hi all Here is our calypso, not yet finish, but very very near to. It has left around one or two working hours some decals and some set up, and to go fire the engine, rossi 60, adjust the engine and the TP length and test flight. One issue I have in my mind and it is what prop to use, rossi, as we all know, likes to turn high RPM, so I haven't decided between 11-7/5 wood prop or 11-8 apc prop. What is your opinion? Best Regards Avi

Whadday think?[:D] I can paint everything except the tail art. That, I'll have to contract out. David S
Hi David I was played with my self with some thoughts of painting our AD Rafale in the exact scheme you choose to do, and my main concern was how to do the tiger lady in the fin. I had checked with some places which them business is digital printing and decals printing and it's can be done according to them as a water slide decals. BUT, you have to have a very good graphic worker which will correct it from the web picture and make it possible to print it as water slide decal. I looked at some companies which are selling plastic models and decals for plastic models, for an example HANNANTS, but I couldn't find any in this scheme . Last, in the end, my partner who builds the plane wants to go to the first plan and to paint it in the france air force scheme, he likes the gray scheme better. Have a good luck with the Rafale Best Regards Avi

Radio Shack Extreme Machine super steep hill climb videos
Here are some videos of my Extreme Machine climbing an extremely high and uneven hill. Its a much harder climb than it looks and I did it with only the rear diff locked This one is at the top of the hill which is the hardest part where the truck is nearly straight up. It is where most of the trucks get stuck or flip over. http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc484/4runnerhouse/b4d495b6.mp4 http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc484/4runnerhouse/9819bf9d.mp4 Heres an idea of how steep it is http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc484/4runnerhouse/d153b193.mp4 http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc484/4runnerhouse/0703eb01.mp4 Makin it look real easy, this is the only rc that has been able to climb it without any wheel spin. Not even my traxxas summit, full built brushless 2.2 scx10 or my buddies built brushless scx10 have made it this easy and I did it with only the rear diff locked. All the hobby trucks require a ton of wheel speed to make it. I also have almost no suspension flex and a really high center of gravity. http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc484/4runnerhouse/44e93f04.mp4 Next im gonna make a video of it head to head against the summit and scx10 showing it out climbing the almighty hobby cars
