RE: Hk600 tail not holding
Solman is correct...With any heli when a tail blows out, this is due to the tail not being able to keep up with the sudden increase in main head speed. Happens with t.t helis as well. Lower your head speed. dial in your gyro again to wher its a rock solid holding. ( gp780 is an excellent gyro) And from ther just tweak your head speed back up and gyro settings to match. Again a sudden thrust in headspeed will blow a tail out if not properly dialed in.

RE: CopterX 500 / HK 500 CMT tail rotor grip failing in flight
Those hk tail blade grips and bolts do this often. If the bolts dont break in half they will usualy try and back out. At times with any bolt threaded into these hk tail blade grips... The best solution is to just buy the cheaper align plastic tail blade grips. ( $12 usd )

So long time no see. Have you guys learned how to do a "pitch pump" yet ? ( a vertical take off from ground ) or do you all still think a heli will "always" drift around upon take off ? ...lmao ...I still get a kick out of you guys arguing this. So funny. ...Rember what I said. its all about your dial in and set up if you guys have " still" not figured this out.

I have a 100amp esc on mine. But you can go with an 80 if you like. For these 600's its best to go atleat 40c when picking out batteries.

Hello colrod..Very good point. that never even crossed my mind about all the extra enclosed heat. makes perfect sence and becouse of that I will keep it at 3000mah and 7 min flight times..Its just not worth having a round abouts $700 heli taking a dirt nap dfue to an overheated esc or motor trying to achieve an extra 2 min flight time. Thank you for the responce[8D]

You will become so bored of those lil helis so fast and just want more more more.....Try a good hobby grade heli like the blade mcx. Its 4 chanl. Very easy to fly And teaches you thumb control. Its also a very durable heli. cost about 80 bucks...But trust me on this in about 2 weeks you will bore of even this and be wanting more. ha....next step would be the blade 120sr its a fix pitch .

Question for the guys about batteries in a scale fuse.
Hello all. So im pretty new at flying scale fusealages. I have the airwolf 500 And just started flying around the md500 jive. So I just got in from a flight and it dawned on me that I have all this room In the cockpit for a larger battery if I want. (All my 500 heli batteries are 6s 3000mah.) So I took 6s 5000 mah battery that I fly in my trex-600 and notice that it fits in the md500 jive...( wrong bat. connectors so ther was no flight ) ...** my question So I could fly say a 4000mah battery in this 500 fuse for a couple min. more of flight time yes ?? Center of gravity fix would be a simple swashplate adjusment yes ? I dont think im over looking anything here. or am i ? If your giggling at me. yes this is how new I am at scale and it just dawned on me. ha ha ...

RE: making the jump to a FP heli
Blade all the way....The majority of ppl that jump up to a fix pitch go the blade 120sr route. And for good reason. Just remeber much like your co-axe the fitch pitch helis hate even a slight breeze. Another great fp is the blade msr . Its small and very very durable and can be flown indoors becouse of its small size. Both make great trainers for your im sure up and coming CP helis. [;)]

RE: Walkera or Blade?
ORIGINAL: Savy92 I would go with blade for a begineer, walkera's are touchy for starting. But if you want a cx2 make sure you have a large indoor space otherwise it is kind of pointless and can cause a lot of damage when you crash (you will, all do). I would actually suggest starting with the msr x. then go to an mcpx then scale trex 450 (for your military body). you can find military style fuselages for all of the above helis (googles your friend). a coaxial you will be bored within a month( depending on how well you develop). It is very easy to fly and can be very boring after a week. the msr will handle anything you throw at it. It is extremely durable.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,+ 1.....word for word even .

RE: newbie - best helicopter with camera to buy?
Him being brand spanking new to the hobby. his best bet would be to start out with a 4 chanl.co-axe. A great first heli is the blade mcx. Very durable and can take a few minor crashes as his learning curve grows. from ther I would recomend the blade 120sr. Thats a fix pitch heli. single rotor. For many starting out with a fix pitch will just leave them aggravated and walking away from the hobby. hence a nice lil co-axe to start with and keep his interest alive. As far as a camera... He should hold off on that for now. and get his flying skills honed in first. baby steps. helis are a bit more difficult to master then it looks. anywho I recomend the blade mcx co-axe. Can buy it from www.horizonhobby.com for around $80 i think

align 550e v2... worlds most perfect heli. Not to big not to small and rocks on 6s.......ohhhhh ok..Seriously I think once you have your thumb control down And it sounds like you do. I would skip the 450 and just jump into a 500. A bit more stable in the air. Only a few dollars more if a crash takes place. And just large enough to put it out ther a good distance...of course only my opinion. Im sure you will get many. But if I had to do it all over again I would have skipped the 450.

RCAERODYNE ROCKS !!
I had a problem with the airwolf 500 scale fuse I bought from them one month ago. I wont go into detail. ( dont want to put any thoughts into anybodys head ) But at no fault of my own I had a crash ruining the tail end of the fuse. I wrote cliff @ rcareodyne basicaly a heads up letter on the product. Knowing very well in this hobby It's pretty much 100% at your own risk. Long story short he offerd me a $400 apachie ( new item) . Wow I was floored. However that build is above my skill level. So I thanked him for the most awsome generosity And told him I would love to have the new md500 jive in blue...3 days later at my door is the jive @ no charge....Im still in awe.. They have all my future hobby dollars....RCAERODYNE ROCKS !!!!!!!!!

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
ORIGINAL: Flying Fiz Hey Aircrash, A heli hovering that close to the ground with training gear will not hover hands off, it will not stay put. What I saw on the video looked perfectly normal and we have all been there. I hate to say this but you were just slightly over correcting each time (we all did to start) and that makes it very difficult to control. Also your environment wasnt a good one, there would have been all sorts of cross breezes from the streets and the heli's own ground effects, and also mentally you couldn't let it move about at all and slowly correct because of all the nearby objects. If you had of hit the Alfa parked nearby it would have put a big dent in that! I would suggest a couple of things, first your heli is OK, second get to a way bigger area and lift off to head height, if the heli moves (and it will) you can slowly and gently correct, lastly get a SIM, it will get you over the learning curve and then it's easy. For people to say it just sits in the air hands off, is a bit misleading because before they have got it to do that they would have put in a number of tiny inputs to settle it right down, and you get a feel for when you can not give it any more inputs and it will sit there for a while, but they never just sit there when you first simply lift off a few feet by increasing the throttle. A good tip I received early on is that it is like trying to balance a tennis ball on a beach ball. Imaging you are holding the sides of a beach ball and someone places a tennis ball on top - it is going to move one way and then keep on moving and keep on picking up speed, as soon as it starts to move you need to give it a tiny and quick counter move , but then you will need to give another move in the opposite direction as it will keep on going that way and so on and so forth. You just need to give very quick and very TINY stick movements, and then one day you will just get it.
-I strongly disagree. Perfectly normal ?? If my heli's did that I would have given up along time ago. And you also think his heli is just fine this way ?? Again i strongly disagree. A properly set up and dialed in heli will not be wavering to and fro the 3-4 feet like in the video. with or without training gear one should not have to fight a heli this way for enjoyable flights. I'm not sure how you have your helis set up. But trust me ther is a better way to get the most out of them. Yes when I throttle up on my helis they raise straight up. They dont climb east or west. Take a look at some your tube videos. look under 3-d videos. Notice how when these piliots do ther initial take off they climb straight up, then take off in the direction the piliot commands. Again its all about set up. What you call normal is not normal for me or for so many others I know. And yes a properly "set up" heli will hover hands free for nearly 2-3 seconds before it wants to drift off to a side . My advice for you would be to look more into your set up and dont skimp on this portion of the learning curve flying fiz. Your being short changed in this arena. My thoughts on this thread have drasticaly changed. You all fly and learn At your own pace. If your still in the hobby a few years from now, I'll bet you a million you would have changed your mind on this subject. ......Helis wont hover hands free or take off straight up......omg....realy ? ...I mean realy ? RE: Heli upgrade Question
Josh....Do yourself a huge favor and sell your blade sr......This is one of e-flite's big mistake heli's..Even the pro's dont like them. Its a huge money pit. The tail motors go out often. The parts are expensive. The rtf model tx does not do it any justice. Check other forums and you will find this all to be very true. Sell it put that money towards an align 450 sport or pro. Will so be worth it for you in ther long run. Only a small fraction of heli piliots have had love for the blade sr.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
HI PHIL...[;)] -toche- You are 100 % correct....By the time I get the heli to wher i want it. yes it cost equel if not more than an original align super combo kit. I do like the fusuno canopys though ( eye candy and they realy are a better fiberglass) ha ...In my defense- what took place is when I bought the hk-600 and even my last hk-500 I had full intentions of just flying them around with hk-typical electronics. this was a huge fail and ended up going with all align electronics....So in hindsight, yes I should have just went with the supercombo kit....But then again I did enjoy all the re-builds. I learned so much along the way...ha ( laughing @ me , not you ) My first hk-500 I truly was just after the head and frames. But thru trial and error It again just turned out to be an align hybred. ( go figure) .....would I do it again ? HECK NO..[:@] if and when next on my list is the real mcoy align 550e..............Off the subject...What are your thoughts on the fbl heads ? do they realy fly better ? can you tell a diff ? I'm one on the backburner waiting for the overall price to come down and an easier instalation to take place. seems like rocket science installing one...[:(]

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
My take on training gear...And this is just my opinion. Once a person learns to hover within a 3 foot box w/ control. the training gear needs to come off and never go back on again. Somewher in the past I heard a guy say the hardest thing about flying a heli was to hover one. I was thinking how insane. thats the easiest thing to do. simply bring it off the ground and hold it ther. hardest thing is flying nose in....oy vay...( im still in training. ha .....anyways....I cant emphasize ( spelled rite ? ) enough that a perfectly dialed in heli that is all trimmed up correctly makes for 100% better flights. when this is accomplished ther is no fighting your heli. It will pretty much just hang ther and wait for you to tell it what to do. ( like a co-axe even) ,,anywayssss back to the training gear. I say once you have a control hover take, em off. Dont do any forward flight or circuits with them on. will only hinder the flight tracking. AIRCRASH....I swear i'll leave ya alone after this post....ha...But ya know how in your video your heli was wanting to go left, right, backwards, ect... ? like it had a mind of it own. concentrate on getting that swashplate 100% leveled. servos at 90 deg. 0 at mid stick +10 high and - 10 low....with that alone will put your heli straight up waist high and should hover hands free for about 2-3 seconds before it wants to drift slowly away.
