RE: savage top speed?
Skillet I know you have done plenty of top speed runs, just curious as to know what engines have you clocked in your truck and what speeds have they gone?

RE: anyone try this servo
I use a servo similar, it's a Tower Pro, cheap and strong enough and have always been durable. They also list them under MG995 name as well on eBay.

RE: Bulkhead compatibility
If you use the X bulkheads you will also need the front bumper and skids as the spots where the 25 would screw in are not there on the X's. The Savage X front bumpers use clips the retain the bumper braces in place. I ran into this issue when building my Savage just recently.

RE: Savage Flux HP : Shocks wont fully rebound?
Mine in the stock setup never fully rebounded either, that is the norm unless u want them super stiff. The first setup is what mine have always looked like although not exact and I didn't use the spacers. I used 40wt in all my shocks and eventually switched springs as well. Shocks are always going to be trial and error and a matter of taste when bashing IMHO, and a science when racing.

My New Savage!
Been a while since I've been on here, but I just finished my latest Savage. I have been out of the hobby since '07 due to the economic downturn, (started flying heli's) but things have since gotten brighter so now I have decided that I can now afford to jump back in. So I built this one little by little from a $100 craigslist find locally (it's was a old worn out 21) needless to say, there is nothing from the old truck on there with the exception of the lower arms. Went with the 3 speed tranny, BP diffs, Savy X diff cases and bulkhead assemblies, FLM Extended LCG chassis, FLM center skid, mid tank mod, Hitec HT servos, FS GT3B radio, CEN Nemesis shocks, Integy 40's w/20mm hexes, MIP CVD's, Robinson spur/CB combo, with an Axial 32. Hope to get it broken in this weekend, but if not, I will soon.

RE: My New Savage!
Thanx T9, looking for a good body to fit it, thinking of a F150/650 TNX/Genesis size. Not looking to set any speed records with it, but thinking of investing in some wings.[:D] I've always enjoyed jumping the crap out of the Savages I had in the past. It's like my sig says, if it's not broken, you're not bashin hard enough. [:@][:)]

RE: Savage X SS ?'S
No replies? Well, if you're still wondering Eric, IMO I would just go with an all stock radio setup, you can pick them up pretty cheap on eBay. This will give you the security of 2.4ghz and range. The standard hpi Savy servos will meet your needs as well unless you want more steering, which most of us do, you will want a high torque there 200+oz. I hope this helps you out if you haven't

RE: gpm clutch
I can't speak of whether or not that this clutch is good, but it seems as though it would be nice, I might have to upgrade to one the next time I'm in need. There is a seller on ebay that goes by the name of steggun29 that has everything you're looking for, this way you can save on the shipping. Good luck and let us know how it goes for ya!

RE: Savage X 4.6
The new 4.6 does now come with waterproof electronics. Yes, you can drive through the water and puddles, but don't let the engine ingest any of that. Yes, you can use a power washer on the truck after a good "wet" run in the mud and the muck, but remember all the other metals that are present, although water resistant, not rust resistant. They are advertised as waterproof, but as you know, sustaining water and water pressure could result in leaking through the top gears on the servos over time. I for one never had an issue with my non-waterproof electronics, running through the mud and the muck, but at the end of the day I removed the radio box (no more trouble that it is) and the engine and just put the hose to it then ran it dry or let it air dry in the hot sun. I too would go through my truck regularly as to prevent any other issues at the diffs and bearings because I did use a hose on it, but sometimes its a must.[:D]

RE: My New Savage!
I appologise I did put that they were 20mm but in fact after looking at the receipt, they are 23mm hexes by Hot Racings. I picked them up from ToadzRC on eBay for $15 after shipping.

RE: GSR 5.0 NEW WHEELS,BODY,TUNED PIPE
Looks good, love that Raptor body! It's been a while since I owned a Cen and couldn't help to wonder, did they ever fix the Nemesis axle break/snapping issue? I was just curious, I just finished building my first R/C in five years and I think Im going to go with that same body.

RE: Flywheels?
Well I can say this, a lighter flywheel is never a bad thing, and yes, there are lighter ones on the market in 2-4shoe configurations. A lighter flywheel will allow the engine to spool up quicker as it has a lower rotating mass and generally have vent holes to help keep the clutch shoes cooler, this helps to, to lower their weight. Good luck in your venture, GPM and Robinson Racing

RE: A Hobby Shop to avoid ! - CEN HATERS !
I have to agree with the Cen's being good and all, but I can remember when Cen had just started up and released the Genesis. My LHS had gotten a few in and they weren't the best of trucks out there, they had many problems. But with that being said the bad rep had started here in my area for Cen, I kept an eye out on their products and watched. My LHS still doesn't carry

RE: Steering and Throttle Servo
ORIGINAL: MTboy May have to try one for that price.. Thanks BASH[:D]
Not a problem, they are sold in singles as well as pairs for a bit more, I always bought the pairs so I would have two strong servos and never had to worry about going without just in case. For their strength and cost, I would much rather buy 4 of these over just one Hitech/Futaba/JR/Airtronics servo that cost

RE: 2008 catalog
Shooooot... I wouldn't do that, Losi is trying so hard to unload the LST it's gotten rediculous. They had so many MFG'd and they didn't sell as anticipated, so this is why they are selling the lesser versions (The Baja, Aftershock, ect.) in order to unload their excess inventory. I wouldn't expect it to be around much longer, unless they do a rivise on it again, like the LST to LST2, possibly LST3? I dunno, but I would guess they will make a whole new model before they do that again.

RE: Steering and Throttle Servo
These are the ones I use they are cheap and strong. The best bang for the buck if all you are going to do is bashing. They aren't good enough for racing applications but excellent for bashing. I have had several of these with only one failing due to my abuse. Note: servos and water don't mix. But out of all of them that I have had only that one has failed. I can't complain about them at all, but it's just a suggestion for you to look into. It will take about 1.5-2weeks to get them coming from HK. RE: Poll on After Run Oil
Too as far as WD-40 goes, that is combustable as well, unlike ARO. Also, have you ever seen what WD-40 does to oil? It will completely wash it away. Many may use this with sucess and I commend you on this but by doing so it is indeed removing any oils on the bearings and such and replacing it with itself (WD-40). And WD-40 doesn't hold up well to heat and viscosity and will breakdown far

That catalog was 46.65MB to download, on a high speed connection it took me 2 minutes to download, on dial up it will probly take about 30min to 1 hr @ 56k connection. Just a fore warning to all you dial up fans.

You can always take the stock manifold and have it powder coated black. Or go with a Losi pipe from the 8ight line of cars.

RE: no kyosho forum.......
I'd probly go with the OS 15cv-x with the V shaped head. I had that in one of my 1/10 scale ST's and it was plenty quick and snappy for the money it was easy to tune as well. It truly had the OS tech behind it, you broke it in, tuned it where it would run good and never had to mess with it again, it would start consistantly on the second or third pull everytime, and I got 8 gallons out of it total before it died. I got mine at my LHS for $89US. Towerhobbies runs specials on them every now and then for that price too, but the cheapest I have seen is 69 on ebay. But that's just the one I would choose.

RE: no kyosho forum.......
Yeah, that's the only one that I really liked, the Mad/Mega force truck. Chain driven tranny and all. But like you stated, parts is the major issue with them. If that would change I would go with the knockoff or original for that matter, for the price it really hauls.

RE: Rally wheels/tires for CT5?
Those tires will require the HPI MT wheels, they would require the proper hexes as well, and are quite a bit larger than that of a touring car. See CEN's post to know exactly what you want.
