RE: Just got my first plane and need some help
Hi I have the Spitfire by Dynam and the control rods attach to the control horns with the same equipment and the same manner that you have. What I did was to install clevis in the control horn with the nuts loose. I then put the control rods through and tightened the screw to the control rods and tightened the nuts up. i then checked to make sure the rudder and elevator stab were centered with the servos and radio controls. I then loosened up the clevis control horn nuts up a tad and applied lock tight blue and retightened the nuts up. The Dynam TX I got with the plane has places to hook up a buddy cord, BUT no toggle switch to use for a buddy system. Hope that helps

RE: xf5f Grumman Skyrocket
Here is another set of plans that I found reference to. "Flying Models Get a FREE issue of this brand new interactive RC magazine. Not a scanned print mag. Not boring! magazine had a construction article in 2005 for an 89" span XF5F-1 with a pair of 38cc engines. Go to their website and look in their r/c Link this word and every other one like it in our forum to YOUR Website! plan catalog, page 33, plan CD254." I have emailed Flying Models to find out info on the plans. As far as Nick Ziroli's plans go, I just got them yesterday and have not dwelled on them. I would like to know how to mount two electrics and their sizes. Also I would like to know how to mount two Nitro engines in his plans. If you make your own control horns for the rudders, Like would appreciate any info you experience with them. If you contact the company about the canopy, please let me know what they say. Best regards

RE: xf5f Grumman Skyrocket
HI In another forum on the subject of the RC Grumman XF5F - 1 Skyrocket, they said you could order plans from Flying Molders, catalog number CF386. I contacted them as they do not have it listed in their list of plans but they had it full scale. There was a build published article, around 1975 if my memory serves me correctly. The plan is drawn by Nick Ziroli and the article was written by Nick Ziroli too. It is one sheet plan and was designed around using the Wankel engines. The WS is 58 inches, and the plan says it can be powered with 2 - .29/.40 cu. Inches. The plans says the cowls are fiberglass and the canopy can be ordered from ”Major Model & MFG. 29 Edgar Drive , Smithtown , NY., 1187. I have not checked this out. The plan is NOT dimensioned but does have a scale bar. The cost for the plan was $11, copy of the build article, $3, shipping was $8 in a tube mailer.
