ORIGINAL: THESCALEMAN i've also got 4degs of down thrust...could add more....it did climb on full throttle...also the tailplane wasn't hot at all with 3degs......so no need for foil tape Joe cheers dave
Just a little note re:foil tape....it's not there for the general running of the turbine, it's only there to protect against any possible wet starts. There are several ways to stop this, tape is one, heating tube to deflect whilst starting & a plywood surround in place whist starting. Just a few ways to save the stab while you are starting your beast[;)]

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Well the Falcon was test flown by Wingart today. She performed very well with her Wren 44 gold, not lacking in any power at all. She had an excellent climb rate, she flew straight and true. Landing was a bit of an issue as the front nose leg wasn't locking in, so a bit of modification and attention. I had one really successful flight, filled her up and went up again and had a mainly successful flight and then all of a sudden she dipped rolled climbed, she was all over the place. I got her back and then she went out of control again, got her back just over some trees, then she went out of control again and started spinning in towards the trees, I managed to get her back again, got her level and she twitched a bit then she started coming in, I gave the stick to 3DFlip and he landed her for me. Sorry about that John but my nerves couldn't take anymore! Thanx for that John. It was the receiver out of my Hawk so there could be an issue with that? I'm going to put a 2.4gig set in the baby now, before she flys again. And thank you very very much Steve for doing the maiden. And thank you all for your hospitality.video clip: http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h284/bruv147/?action=view&current=SNV30054.flv

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Thanx for the help tonight Steve, I hope that your jet has sorted itself and you have many more flights. Got the elevators completed tonight...thanx Steve! Had a little bit of a set back when it came to conecting the Hi-Tec aileron servos up via a Y lead in channel one for the first time together. Only one would work, they both worked on their own but when connected together; only one worked! So with the advice from my mate Dave, I connected two Futaba servos in the same way; and they worked fine, So now I've gone out and purchased two JRDS811's (the same as Steves) and hopefully they will work? So it means more waiting......will she ever fly![:@]

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
I'm not Bigplumbs but I can answer the question about the angle on the mounting blocks. It's 5deg of down thrust (slightly down) I just rubbed the blocks down to 5deg on the tail end at the bottom of the block thus leaving the top of the block with it's covering intact! BiGToP p.s. RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Thanx for the info on the "Pop Bottle" as you so rightly say " more R&D goes into "Pop Bottles" maybe than Dubro tanks and the like? On the air tank that I got from A1 models it said on the bottom "no more than 12psi" I think it must be a misprint, I think a zero had been left off! I put 100lb psi in it and it's fine.[;)] BiGToP

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
I was told, rumour has it that "POP BOTTLES" for use in turbine aircraft are more prone to splitting on impact. Therefore ending up in a ball of flames. Is the correct? I'm sure all you modellers out there have your own thoughts on this?[:-] Regards BiGToP
