Align Starter Experience
I have a new Align Starter purchased in February 2012 from Heliproz. The starter has now failed in the engaged position (always on). Has anyone experienced a similar issue or found a corrective action? I spoke with Assurance and they said warranty is only 90 days and there is no repair for Align equipment. They will sell me a new replacement for $70, but have no technical expertise. This is my last Align purchase experience of any sort.

RE: Align 3GX Flight Mode Problem
Problem fixed. I did a total reset of the the transmitter and started all over again, and this time the problem went away.

RE: Align 3GX Flight Mode Problem
I reset everything and set the curves as stated above, then repeated the setup procedure again. No trim anywhere and validated a level head with a physical head block. At the end I have the same result and problem. The idel up 1 has run away down trim, Normal and Idle up 2 are fine. If I turn on the reveiver in idel up 1 the Normal and idle up 2 run away nose up. Totally stumped again.

RE: Align 3GX Flight Mode Problem
Thanks, I will do that again to triple check each step. But why would normal and idle up 2 be fine and idle 1 run away. I will set all pitch curves as suggested and try again.

Align 3GX Flight Mode Problem
I have set-up an Align 3GX v2.0 and all seems to be working as planned, BUT when I select flight mode idle up 1 on my JR 9303 the swash plate moves uncontrollably to nose down. If I swithch to Idle up 2 or back to normal all returns and works fine. Then if I reset the receiver and start in Idle up 1 the opposite happens, that is it functions normally and when you select either normal or idle up 2 it runs away full aft. Has anyone seen this befoe or have a suggestion to correct?

RE: Align 3gx flight vibration
Think I might have found the problem. The elevator hinge scissors bolt was loose and the elevator input on the swash was spongy. Now I am not sure if I have another issue. After the calibration setup I noticed that in the normal mode all stays level, but web I switch to the flight mode the swash starts tilting to full forward. Is this at all normal. Seems strange to me. Flight mode 2 behaves like the normal mode and stays level. Any ideas?

RE: Align 3gx flight vibration
I hope to find a user error or setup solution. This evening I am going to remove the blades and verify the feathering shaft is Ok, reverfiy contol range limits. The only other thing I can think is I used the gel style receiver padding that is dense and 1/4" thick. It seems fine, but who knows. Is there anything else or an adjustment to the flight operation setting I should be considering? The blades are fine on the FB head, but could they be creating a problem? Again, this is a massive shake. Totally lost here. Benn operating FlyBared helis for years.

Align 3gx flight vibration
I have a Raptor X50TT that flys fine with a Flybar. I took off the head, added the RJX head and the Align 3gx Version 2.0 and the vibration is so bad I can not get it airborne. I forced it up once to a low hover and put it back down as it was nearly uncontrollable. I have done the Dir setup repeatedly with no change. All seems to preflight test ok. The Ail and Elev controls are set at 8 degrees. It seems sensitive. I am using the same blades I had for the Flybar flight, could that cause the heli to be radically different? I have fought this thru v 1.2 and gave up and went back to fb. With 2.0 I thought I would try again. I am in Jacksonville, FL and would appreciate any suggestions.

RE: DLE 30 Back firing
My mistake on the plug, it is a NGK CM-6. Worked with Jody and I am convinced it is a weak battery. A chinese no name. I was charged and 1 of the two I have installed for the radio is also at minimum voltage and will not sustain the radio if the second is switched off, even though the indicators still shows tow batteries. Clearly in brown out. Thanks all, I was supprised it failed so quickly and that the voltage drop results in such violent behavior. I guess I should have know that though. I am glad it is not an engine or ignition issue. Thanks Jody!

DLE 30 Back firing
I have a just modified DLE 30 Rear Carb engine with a replaced/repaired (?) CDI unit. The first run since replcement was a difficut start, starter required. It seemed to run Ok on first tank of fuel with the needles at 1 1/12H and 1 1/4 Low. The second fuel load the engine started fine, ran seconds and then started back firing badly and stopped after several seconds and loud back fires. I allowed all to cool and open the jets slightly and tried again with the same immediate results. This engine had several (6 or so) previous side carb flights with 4 failures at in opportune times, then a failure after lift off causing a total airplane loss. I swapped the ignition and determiined the CDI box failed. Sent the engine & CDI back and recieved a CDI warranty repair or replacement (replacement I think?). When I returned the box I had the rear carb mode done. this is the 1st attempt to run since all repairs and mods. I do have the CMH 6 plug installed I am baffled and frustrated with this engine. Can some one suggest what to investigate?

RE: 9309 & Opto Kill switch setup
I fly at Island Flyers on Amelia Island. It is a small club operating off A1A at North Hampton area. I have several Raptor 50, AW 30 & 50 sized Airplannes as a couple electrics as well. When is the best time to come to the field for help?

9309 & Opto Kill switch setup
I have a new second gasser heli (other on a 9C) and am trying to install a Stator Gator Gov pick up and an Opto magneto kill switch on the gear channel. I am also using a Spectrum 7100R reveiver. The Kill switch and Gov pickup share the same input via the gear channel, which I am told should work. I do not see how the kill switch wil be activated, but it does appear the gear switch shows movement on the servo veiw when toggled. Unfortunately the magneto version kill switch has no indicator light to show on or off. Can anyone confirm if the Opto magneto kill switch and stator Gator can cohabitate on the gear channel (as I have hear they will)? If so what is the appropriate setup procedure? Does the gear switch function as the kill switch or can it be assigned to a different switch and how? If on the gear switch how can you tell if on or off initially? What is the appropriate govenor starting set up for a Rev Max? On my 9c you calculate or start at 70% and work up. I saw a reference on the 9309 to 10% and 20%. Is there somewhere is can get more information on the 9309/PUH231/magneto kill witch/ and magneto Stator Gator setup? Thanks for any help possible.

RE: Radikal G30 Govenor need
Thanks, your Stator Gator is exactly what I need. I ordered one last night. This looks like a perfect solution. Unlike the Predator there is no provision on the fan or thru the fan shroud for a pick up access. The way the engine mounts also would make mounting an arm difficult. This is really a great solution and likely what they expected, but never discussed. There are few written instructions in the G30 manual. Thanks again, really helpful!

Radikal G30 Govenor need
I am finishing a new Century Radikal G30 with a Zenoah 231. Previously I had that engine in a Predator gasser with a govenor. There is no obvious way to install govenor pick-ups on the fan and no reference in the manual. Is this not as necessary on a 3D gasser as on a nitro machine, or just oversight? Does anyone have an easy solution to adding a governor to the G30?

DLE 30 won't start
I have a new DLE 30 that started for two ground runs and one flight, which was rich and low rpm. The second attempt I adjusted the high needle to peak and then the low jet for acceleenration, then put the cowl back on and it has not started since. I read the thread here and reset the neddles to H2 and L1 1/8 and it will not hit a lick, even with the starter. Is there a way to test the ignition? I have an Opto Kill switch which test good (light seems to work fine), but I even bypassed that and hooked the battery direct to the CDI, but no change. I am totally stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: Prop orientation for hand starting
Thanks all, it may be just too new to have enough compression yet. I am using the stock spark plug and do get a kick on choke only. I may not be flipping long enough or quite fast enough yet. I will keep trying as I break it in. Thanks again.

Prop orientation for hand starting
I have a new DLE 30 that starts fine with an electric starter, but will not prop even when hot. Is there a special prop orientation required for hand starting? I currently have the prop at the 1 to 1:30 position, but have not been successful in getting a start regardless of flips. The engine is new and it has very little compression, but seems to run fine.

RE: Dual Gyro install YAK 54
Thanks again Walt, I have it now. I can tie two gyros to a single sensitivity channel via a Y cord. I know how to set up the gyros and am comfortable with using the three position switch for this purpose. I think this is going to be an excellent setup and training aid. I won't tell the others initially, they can just watch and see! Thanks again!

RE: Dual Gyro install YAK 54
Thanks Walt, Does the GY 351 manage two channels like rudder and elevator in a single unit? If so I think it may well be the solution. Thanks again.

Dual Gyro install YAK 54
I have two GY 400 series Gyros I want to install in a YAK 54 using a Futaba 9CHP radio. I am an experienced heli user of the GY 401 and understand how to add the rudder gyro and adjust via the Gyro menu, but am not sure how to add the elevator and how to adjust the gain remotely. Would you do that via the govenor channel or some other way? Any help would be appreciated.
