Heart of Ohio thanks you all!
We were once again blessed with 40 of the classiest Jet Pilots to ever step foot on a model runway. There was non stop flying for all three days with an extremely small attrition rate. Thanks to the Pilots, Sponsors, and all who who helped make this event a success. It was once again our pleasure to have you as our guests! Terry N.

Pete, I live close, if you have any jugs I can fill them for you. We usually fill a few for Jim Brown each year. Looking forward to seeing everyone. This late life career change of mine is taking it's toll. We will once again have the big barbeque cookout on Friday night sponsored by RC Jet Models and AMT(US Micro Turbines). The TORKS members are really working hard to put on a first class event. Big T

RE: Noon-time demos at jet events
Well, I promised myself that I would never get in the middle of one of these "DISCUSSIONS" but since I am older now and most of this is based on HOH, I need to express my opinion. For the sake of not offending anyone personally, let me pre apoligize for any offenses . First, I believe the need for a noon time show is strictly based on the personality of the event. At HOH the noon show is appreciated and expected, and generates as much press as anything we do. That's the way it is. Understand I am a Jet Pilot first, and have done as many noon time demos at "other" events and airshows as anybody in the country. Sometimes something a little different can be a positive for any event. I have done noontime demos for Top Gun for many years, and even though the crowd is there for scale models, they appreciate (and enjoy) the differences in our sport. At HOH, the event is technically a four day event, with flying from dawn to dusk, and we use one hour (strictly adheared to) on Saturday, and one hour at the end of the show on Sunday(while the pilots are loading to leave) just prior to the awards ceremony. That's it! We have a flying site that is leased from a land fill, and can be a little politically challenged at times. Our goal is to accumulate as many "get out of jail free cards" as we can, and the HOH in many ways, accomplishes this task. Our club charter states that we will promote model avaition of all types and that is what we do. We have invested thousands of dollars in noon time flybys and various forms full scale entertainment, but nothing has been as powerfull as a smiling child, walking off that runway with a bag full of candy dropped from a full scale Super Cub. That is part of our noon time show and charter. Like I said I am getting older, and I guess it's beginning to show. Love you guys, but this is what we do. Terry

RE: Only 2 weeks untill Heart of Ohio, whos going
Dave, we are getting some great press from the Grove City Visitors Bureau and local press. Looking for a BIG crowd to watch you guys perform. TORKS is rolling out the red carpet for all you pilots. Come and have a great time, and enjoy the Friday night dinner. We used this Caterer for another event and one of the pilots proposed to the gal who made the corn muffins! He said he has never tasted any that good. TORKS members wives are bringing the desserts so forget about those diets. See you all soon! Big T

A Very Special Thanks from Heart of Ohio
On behalf of the TORKS organization, I would like to express our thanks to everyone who helped make the 15th Heart of Ohio Jet Scramble a resounding success. After a week of extreme pressure and uncertainity, it was an absolute joy to be with 54 of the best and most caring jet pilots in the world. You folks made the show and the over 3000 spectators loved it! Thanks for believing in us and taking the chance of attending a jet event at our club field. We have several improvements in mind and will make the 16th annual event one not to miss. To all pilots, sponsors, and spectators, You are the Greatest! Thanks again. Big T

FAA Disapproval Causes Heart of Ohio Move!
After receiving tentative FAA approval we have received a letter from them denying use of the Fayette County Airport for the Heart of Ohio Jet Sctamble. The actual letter will be posted on the TORKS website (www.torks.com) ASAP. After careful consideration by the TORKS organization, we have decided to move the event to the TORKS Field of Dreams located at 6321 Young Road, Grove City, OH 43123. Naturally, many things are changing quickly and updates will be posted on the TORKS website. The TORKS Field of Dreams features a 70x700 foot paved runway and 100x700 foot grass parallel runway. We hope for your continued support of this grand event. Registered participants unable to attend due to the change of venue should email the event coordinator at contact@torks.com or contact me at tsnitsch@msn.com. Naturally, the FAA's position has made life difficult for organizers of model jet events everywhere. However, we remain committed to hosting a quality jet event for all participants. Once again, updates will be posted on the TORKS website as they become available. BIG-T

More Heart of Ohio Information
The more I deal with the fine folks in Washington Court House, the more impressed I am. It is like a breath of fresh air! The headquarters Hotel is the Country Hearth Inn(877)-809-6241. It is located only five minutes from the airport. This is a very new and nice hotel. They have given the Jet Scramble an extremely fair room rate of $55.00 per night. They have a total of 44 rooms available, and I have reserved them all until August 15th. Just mention the Jet Scramble for this great rate. Across the street is the Clubhouse Restaurant. This establishment has a great menu (Steak, Chops, a good selection of sea food) and nice bar. We are reserving the large banquet room for a Saturday Night get together. Nothing structured, just show up and order off the menu. I also have a block of tee times reserved at the Washington Country Club for 2:00 Thursday afternoon.(ten minutes from the airport). If you would like to play a round before the Jet Event with fellow pilots, get with me to reserve your spot. The shopping trip to the large outlet mall is set, and we will have two shuttle opportunities from the airport on Saturday. This is all I have for now, will post more as things develop. Big T
