THanks again Tony! I might need tail weight with the 3w 100 . I made up my brackets for gear and cabanes struts this morning , I will show pics later . This is a big help on running wires and rigging. Looking at all the set ups on the net I might go with a smart fly bus to plug all the servo leads . There are so many ways and ideas with all these set ups still dont know what way to go.

spokes would be cool,, I built a Bob Dively Pitts years back and used 4-40rods with soilder clevis... was very heavy and did not like vibration, metal brackets would crack with G-62 on the nose. my buddy said Dubro makes kits for wires. I have all the brakets from GP pitts I had hanging around that I have mounted for functional wires.

Thanks Tony I have been looking at your ideas.. is that 2-56 rod or music wire? Thought about wire and crimps with heat shrink. How many flights do you have on the eagle? did you have any problems with the set up? The 3w is heavy might need tail weight , or ppg clear for added weight. Thanks for scoop!

Grandad went to the hobby store and picked it up ! should have been a rear carb , but at 74 years old we still build , paint and fly as much as possible ! so really dont matter. yes they make rear carb , and the 30 DLE is a perfect match for this plane . A G-62 would be to big. Good Luck flying

3/4 oz cloth and z-poxy with Dupont primer ,,,, Full Thane paint by Nason !!! a little heavy but plenty power .. Go with heavier cloth... very easy to dent

Hi guys fixing to cover in monakote a Frank Knoll 38% eagle with a 3-W 100 in the nose !!! Has anyone ever had this set up with cabanes bolted to the top the fuse??? I also heard of the top cabane brace not strong enough to with stand snaps ...I also epoxied ply blocks between main spars for functional set up with 4-40 wires . I really want to paint it but might be a little heavy !!! so will shoot for monakote and clear coat .. thanks for any help!!!

put a pic in twin section oops!!! G&P Wigeon 12' span done up with z-poxy and Dupont paint for you guys .. plenty of sanding and molded blocks of foam to contour engine cells .. will be a display model only .. sorry need to cut windows and guide wires next !! good luck flying

you dont need the cross formers if you dont want!! My fuse is built to planes with sheeting it is solid . I cut a big access p[lanel out the bottom of the fuse and put a servo tray in there which will also lock the unit up .. block up a bunch of foam around your engine sand to contour then glass them with z poxy !! watabing you will have cowls to fit perfect .. dont worry bout weight cause you are way over weight may need bigger motors .. I will put g26's on mind with ppg and retracts .. good luck dont forget cg

Hey Red Raider I will be using Robinair retracts .. they were in the cessna when I baught it along with 2 OS 90 fFS with monokote .. I pulled all the mono off and put glass / resin . 2 100's will work if lite with iron on covering. It is very heavy now that I glassed with out PPG added and interior. I will more than likely go with 2 20cc gassers , cause reliable ,,, been flying zenoha 45s and 62's for 13 years never never !! did they stop on me unless you run out of gas !!!
