RE: Meister 109 rehab
Hey a65L You didn't mention what size BF109 you have, but if it is the 84 inch, the CG is 4 1/2 to 5 inches behind the leading edge at the fuselage. I just gto the plans and am going to start this as my winter project, so I will be following your rebuild and will probably have some questions as you go. Hope this helps Ron

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81
Hey Rich If you are still monitoring this thread, I have a question for you. The folks at Model Airplane News do not have a copy of the construction article for this plane, and suggested you might have one. Is there any chance that you might, and if so could I possibly talk you out of a copy? Do we have any word about when we might expect to get canopys yet? Thanks Ron

Ross Twin 60
Hey Guys I have aquired a pair of Ross Twin 60 engines. Does anyone out there know anything about these engines? I am guessing that they might be close to 40 years old. One of them looks like it has neveer been run. I would like to know what lind of power they have, and what would be a good airplne to put them in. There were no owners manuals in the boxes, so I am not sure what type of fuel they like and how much nitro to use. I usually run Wild Cat 2-4 blend. It is 15% nitro and 18% oil, I would think it should be OK.If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks eveeryone Ron

RE: NEW KMP BF-110 95
Mpizpilot I am curious about your Lado retract conversion. Did you have them do the conversion or did you do it yourself? If you don't mind, just how spendy was it? Are you happy with them, and do they have enough power to open the gear doors? Thanks Ron

RE: muffler screws coming loose
Hey guys The mufflers are cast, and the bolts are counter sunk into the mufflers, so there is no way to get lock washers or safety wire into them. Is it OK to USE lock Tite on Aluminum? Thank again Ron

muffler screws coming loose
Hey guys I am fairly new to gas engines, and have been having trouble with the muffler screws coming loose. I have been told not to use Lock Tite on aluminum. If that is true what else can be used? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ron

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81
Hey Rich I think we all support you. We all know how well your models fly and how nice they look. We do know how frustrating it must be for you to have these nice models and not be able to sell them for lack of parts. It is also very frustrating for us as modelers who know how nice these models are and not be able to have one for ourselves. I do hope you won't give up on us who do still want to build your models. I have the plans, engines and most of the wood to start mine, and will wait till this mess gets straightened out to start it. In the mean time I will continue to fly my small Bronco. Thanks Ron

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81
Hey Guys I have a couple of questions I would like to ask. Is it ncessary to use lite ply for the wing ribs. I can se using it where the wing tubes go, but why do we need it for the rest of the ribs? And, I would like to know what modifications are needed to the formers to put the Sirrra retracts in. It will be a while before I can order mine. but would like to start building. Thanks guys Ron

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81
Hey Rich I too am about ready to start on the 80 inch Bronco, and am wondering about the plastic parts. I have been flying your little Bronco for several years and absolutely love it. I take it to all the fun fly events I go to and it is always a hit. I flew it last weekend at our field and everyone stops what they are doing to watch it. If the big one flys half as well as the small one I am going to be a very happy camper. Thanks Ron

RE: SEAMASTER TWIN BUILD
flybyjohn I have GMS 32's in the Canadair. It will pick up water and drop it. It is best to pick it up when the plane is on step. If it is not on step it sits real low in the water and makes a lot of spray. It also gets very busy trying to drive the plane and open and close the pick up hatch.. It does fly real well off of the snow though. Pictures on Big Sky Thunderbirds web site. I have the same problem as you. I managed to get a small amount og negative incidence in the stab, so I have to fly with down trim. It's been flying like that for about six years , no sense worrying about it now. Ron

RE: SEAMASTER TWIN BUILD
flybyjohn Good job on your Seamaster. That is my Canadair that you have posted on post 58. I try to make it to your float flys every year. Where are you flying from in the videos? It doesn't look like Hauser. We don't have anyplace to float fly in Missoula anymore, they won't allow us to fly off of Frenchtown Pond anymore. Your float fly and one at Trout Creek is the only two times I get to fly each year. Maybe we can put both planes up together this year. Ron

RE: KMP Bf-110 Nothing like Twins
Mpizpilot They make a gear door kit for the BF100. I believe Troy Built has it. It has springs that close the doors, and inner door liners. It also has a steal bar with curved ends that push the doors open when you extend them. Ron

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

RE: Wing MFG.
Hey slaliwag Last summer I was given a Wing A26 short kit. It was complete except the beds for the foam wings. I called Wing Mfg to see if I could get a new set of wings. I was told that they were in the process of moving to another state, don't remember which, and that parts or kits were no longer available. I was told tht when they reopened that they were going to make replicas of old time freeflights and early rc planes. So we probably won't be able to get parts or kits anymore. I was able to send my core to a fellow in Arkansas and get new ones cut, so I will be able to build my kit. That is all I know for now. Ron

dgitar That is correct, once the aluminum tube is in you cannot get to the tanks. Also make sure you glue your cowl mounting blocks in before you put the tube in. Ron

RE: WingSpan Retracts into a Hangar 9 P-40
Yes, I am still watching, and hope you guys get your problems settled. I was really hoping that the Wingspans were going to be the answer. I have an H9 Corsair that I want to replace the gear in. I also hace a highly mogified CMP Hellcat that I have Sierras in. I have to tell you, those are some mighty fine gear. I do feel that they are a little to pricey to put in the H9 though. My friend put some Lados in hisi T Flite P40 and yhey had so much play in them that he could not even taxi it. He sent them back and they repaired them but they still have a fair amount of play in them. Any way keep us posted. Ron
