RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
Rick was running one of the long muffled pipes either from CMB or a copy, kinda like his NR muffled pipe before he lost it in the pond. It was 73 db off pipe and 77 db on pipe. We'll get all the results posted soon.

Gonna try to get my NR 5-port powerhead mounted up today for testing on the Vision tunnel. Get it broken-in so that I have 2 engines for that race boat. Spare engines are nice when traveling to big races like Ottawa.

RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
42 trees planted so far, 9 more to go. Gonna try to get the last 9 planted on the south side in the low area. No water hose over there, but it's suppose to rain a lot tomorrow. Neil, not sure what's the problem with your CMB 21 VAC. I thought for sure it would run good for you as it was looking good this spring, but now it seems to not stay running..... Have you ruled out your fuel system? Roger had issues with a customer's gasser and sure enough, after all the stuff looked at, it was a clogged fuel outlet in the tank setup.....

RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
20 trees planted so far. 16 for the Smith Road barrier and 4 on the south end of the pond. And plenty of rain today..... Only running 20 Tunnel and 20 Hydro in Elmira. Don't feel like getting anything else ready. Rick, if you plant trees over the weekend, you can turn the water hose on at the house by the sun room. You just need to flip the knob on at the Y-connecter. You'll see what I mean.

Now I gotta get the 1/8 scale ready. the only time to race her.
Yup, 67 rigger would go in E/F classes. 10 trees now planted 10 feet apart to form a barrier between the pond and Smith Road. Planted roughly half way between the pond and road.

Since we're not holding anymore races this year, I decided to move two of the picnic tables back to the hot pits. It will be easier mowing anyways.... I need some late night work in the hobby room to finish my Zippkit 45 rigger. I signed up for D-hydro for Ottawa so it NEEDS to get done soon..... Neil, you running D-hydro in Ottawa? Rick was right, the trees in the stream look fine. I planted 2 more when I got home. Neil's tree looked better as well, so I planted Neil's Redwood. The Redwood is the first to form the row that will block the view from the road. This is especially important if the farmer eventually sells her land and houses come in across the steet. Thinking ahead.

Yes, the island is back. Crazy drought this year. Normally the inlet is flowing a little water this time a year, but it is stone dry. It'll fill back up no problem in the spring time. RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
ORIGINAL: advanced builder Craig the more I pull on the cord ,the more I like your starter. My nitro pop-ed- over a few times just adding the glow driver, this summer. Never seen that one before. Gas is kinda over this season for me. All my gas engines need rebuilding. I didn't want to break anything more this season. Gas just chew up leaves. Walt's old insane sport hydro, may get some time in. Haven't wanted to drive her as she looks show room. I can be hard on a hull as everyone has seen. I better practice some first. I'll be ready this week or weekend. I have 2 sets of pipe/header combo to test on my .21 rigger. I cut the carbon fiber pipe so that the header will slide inside the pipe 8 1/2-long. The AB is cut to 8 3/4 @ the wide spot
If you're nervous about your new gas sport hydro, just wait till spring when Stony Pond will be larger. But, I'm pretty sure that will be easier to drive than your .45 rigger.... My .20 rigger was twitchy with the h-7 this past weekend. The boat turns a lot smoother with the Zippkit 1450 prop. I will need to test speeds between the two just to make sure and try other props for next year. I did not have enough speed to over take Walt or Scott, so unless I get the start and hold tight on the bouys, I'll be taking second. Another note Neil. Some of us drove to the inside of bouy 4 because we were driving the Ottawa course that was off a little. It took a little getting used to Brick Pond again. Who would think... [:D]

RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
ORIGINAL: engineman351 Craig, Starting the gassers made me think of a safety tip we have a habit of ignoring. When the boat is not in the Hot Pits or simply on your work table...you should disconnect the plug wire. My Gas Sport Hydro literally started with just one pop of a compression cycle when I was getting some fuel to the carb. If I was removing/tightening the prop nut and the piston popped over tdc, it could have started the same way. Roger
Yup, that's a good safety tip for sure. Normally I follow it, but not all the time.... The electric boats have a similar safety issue as they can have a mind of their own once pluged in....

Mostly sad feeling
Neil, sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is a terrible thing, as we all know. I was telling Bob, our winters are way too long to miss a boat race over bad weather. I learned this back when I was autocrossing... You weren't the only one that thought it would be a wash out, many other regulars did not show. Roger, I like my starter belt. It seems the stock engines need 5 pulls to start where mod engines are much easier to start. I needed 5 pulls to start Rick's Thunder Boat each race.
