RE: Walkera Dragonfly 22E Inturder 3D CCPM -- Does ANYONE have some input for this bird?
OMG, the new all alum rotorhead makes all the diff in the world. I can actually hover! This bird is really skittish in ground effect. Get it up to about 3 ft high and she really settles down. Just don't pull the throttle back hard as the cyclic will go negative pitch and slam yer baby into the dirt. Just pull it back gently so she'll settle easy. 4 pairs of blades, and 3 boom strikes to learn that little lesson. [:@] More later. At work and boss is coming.... that $229 rotorhead ain't worth the $$ though. Should have bought a TRex or X400 for that $$. BTW Walkera just released a new bird... the 39 which is a TRex clone.

RE: Walkera Dragonfly 22E Inturder 3D CCPM -- Does ANYONE have some input for this bird?
Received my 22E yesterday. No problems noted, except with Xmitter. The fargin' gymble springs, and attachments were loose and rattling around inside. Took it apart and put it back together-- all's well. The included "Li-ion" batt charger seems to work fine on my 1300mah Li-po. After about 50 min of watching it closely, the LED changed from red to green. Started going over the entire bird checking adjustments, bindings, balance, etc. I notice that I can't get enough + collective so I play with the linkages and either wind up with too much, or not enough. Servo travel just isn't enough to get me - and + collective. Switch on DIP #8 turn up the left side knob, servo travel increases by at least 100%. After getting the travel I want, with near zero collective just below 1/2 throttle, I switch off #8 DIP. Knob does nothing now. Couldn't quite figure out what the right side knob is doing. It had no effect until it reached its max clockwise position, then would throw the servos into what looked like a hard left cyclic turn? whoa... none of that! Put that knob back where it was and I'm not playing with it. Haven't even tried to hover or fly yet. I'm doing all these adjustments, and learning my way around a heli rotorhead, with the motors disconnected... just playing with servo adjustments and linkages at this point. Here's where I'm bumming. While incrementally removing linkages to get level swashplate & travel I want, one of the darn ball-links breaks off the swashplate! That plastic on this bird is really flimsy. I was being very careful too. Got ticked, and did something the spouse ain't gonna like. Bought Helihobby's entire SuperHead assembly-- the one for the Hornet/Hornet 2. You know the all aluminum one. WAY too much! More than this bird costs, I know. But darn it, how can one expect to fly something as twitchy as a Micro Heli without good working components? After looking at many, many photos from all over the web, I've concluded that the 22E is a VERY close knockoff of the Hornets. Sometime soon, I'm going to look for a true 12VDC motor (see my link in above post) to use in the tail. Tore apart an old CD-ROM drive, and there is a near N30ish size high torque 9VDC motor inside. There is also a very shallow brushless motor as well... but I don't think it will have the torque needed to do the job. .... to be continued....

RE: Walkera Dragonfly 22E Inturder 3D CCPM -- Does ANYONE have some input for this bird?
Found a source for much better tail motors! www.jameco.com [:D] Once I can examine the tail motor of my in shipment 22e, I'm certain I will find a sturdy replacement here. Found some white papers on the N-20 motors... they are only rated to 3vdc and believe the N-30s are only rated to 6vdc. Its no damn wonder they keep burning up![:@] Especially when running lipos.

RE: Walkera Dragonfly 22E Inturder 3D CCPM -- Does ANYONE have some input for this bird?
With the hope that we can start building some 22E tips on one thread, I'm posting here... sorry to hijack your thread X1705![;)] Just bought a 22E and awaiting its arrival. In the meantime, I'm building a parts base. Want to find some woodie main blades or maybe ABS? fiberglass? carbon? for my 22E. What length? 225mm or 250mm? I also picked up a 3200rpm Walkera brushless motor, 30a controller, and a 1800mah li-po bat. Thanks for suggestions! Chris
