RE: What about Wal-Mart?
I don't shop at China-Mart, but I don't support my 3 LHS either. They're all a ripoff. One is more of a craft store that has an area about the size of the counter at 7-11 dedicated to R/C and most of that space is nitro engines. One is 95% scale trains and they get annoyed when you inquire about anything in the R/C case. And the final one is in a shop that's only about 15x15 and if you're not into nitro you're dirt...their selection isn't hot either. That's why I love Tower and eBay.

I used my Dad's Midnight Pumpkin a lot, but the first one that was actually mine was an LXT. Got it when it first came out. I still have it, somewhere. Still have the Magnum Jr. Radio I used with it too.

RE: suggestions for entry lvl MT for 3 yr old..
Don't get me wrong, I loved my Midnight Pumpkin...it just seemed like I was busting contol arms a lot. No where near as often as my brother was breakng turnbukles on his King Cab, but often enough to be annoying. I want somthing he can run in the grass, so I think the Slayer is out, thouh it does look like fum. (maybe I'll get an RC10 for myself) I do like the idea of the sealed electronics and the ability to go throttle 50% on the xl-5 esc, so the Stampede is looking petty good right now.

suggestions for entry lvl MT for 3 yr old..
My first thought was a Midnight Pumpkin, since that was my first truck. But then I remembered how often that thing was broken down. Thoughts...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
the stock electronics woud be gone 10 secs after it came out of the box anyway, so that's not a concern.I hate the fact that lmost everything comes RTR now. It's rididculous that you have to but the top of the line model to get to enjoy building an R/Cthese days. The least they coud do if they're going to force RTR's down our throats is give us an FM radio option.

How viable of a racer is the MT2 G3.0? Going to be used mostly for bashing (that's why I want 4WD), but I don't want to get killed should I decide to go to the track.

RE: Tamiya TB-02 Resource Thread
How interchangeable are the TB-03 and TB-02 parts? I saw a TB-03 carbon tub & a graphite chassis and was wondering if they're compatable with the TB-02. I would probably go cheap and just get the carbon tub.

RE: Tamiya TB-02 Resource Thread
Just going to bash around the street and parking lots for a bit until I get the feel for it again. I'll upgrade as things break...has a few aluminum parts as is ( steering arm, motor mount, drive shaft). If I do get back into racing I'll stick with stock class since I have a handful of Trinity Monster Stock motors that are still brand new. I need a new radio though. Was needy for cash a few years ago and sold my JR XS3 (for way less than I should have). Probably stick with a 2PL or 3PM.

RE: Is this a real Tamiya model?
I've noticed that happens with a lot of "limited release" items. People foam at the mouth after they realise that they're gone. I don't know if someone importing a bunch of them to the UK means that it wasn't a Japan only release. They weren't really intended for the UK.

Is this a real Tamiya model?
I saw this on eBay, but have never heard of it. I was wondering if this was real or this guy just made a label and slapped it on a box. Couldn't find an info on this kit on the internet. Thought you guys might know something. Didn't want to waste my money on a fake. Thanks all! That body is absolutely sick, would have been better w/o "Nightmare before Christmas" written on the sides though. I think it detracts from the brilliant paint job...JMHO.

Deans wire is the best I will give you that, but I think their bars and solder suck. Trinity bars & flux with Novak lead-free silver solder.

RE: Tto1 or tlo1
I have to agree with Speedy, it is more than worth the extra money for the much better TB02 or TA05. I have a TB02 that is built, but never run that I could sell ya if you were interested. I found an EVO IV for an insanely cheap price right after I built the TB02 so it never even made it outside. Its the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHAT1&P=0]Calsonic Z[/link] body model...will sell it for $60 less than the Towerhobbies price.
ORIGINAL: WRXTC My point exactly. The EVOIII is a great car and is in the same class as a TC3 or 4 and the author of this topic honestly believes a TT-01 will keep up with a TC3 etc......[:D][:)]
You give the TC3 and 4 too much credit by putting it in the same class with an EVO. The TC3 and TC4 are in the same class with the TB02.
