How are you guys fine tuning the exhaust end of your double wall pipes inner tube to be 100% centered with the outer? There are tabs there that keep it close, but mine stays about 1/16 to 1/8 too far to one side Thanks Jay
Very nice flight, slow flight looked excellent, & landing seemed to be very predictable & as slow as any jet I've ever flown. Thank you for posting! Jay

Thanks Dantley, I've seen a few of your flights on a few different platforms, definitely holds weight coming from you. I'm feeling pretty confident going into this maiden.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
ORIGINAL: Dave Wilshere Checked and its not 1st April You think a company like CARF make different shape wings...can't drink my morning coffee I'm smiling so much. This thread really has lost it! All these people having trouble... Of the many many hundreds of UF flying I've heard of...none, except on here this last two weeks. Yes there will be a few people who weren't sure, who now come forward, but I'm telling you there is no issue with this aeroplane. Its the best all around sports jet yet. We can't see the radio set ups, how the model was built, there can be a HUGE difference in weight. I don't land my model with lots of ''heavy'' fuel still on board-I'm sure its not so nice 'heavy' but I've flown it in enough conditions like last Sunday which was a horrid wind and never had the Uh oh moment landing. This is a sports jet capable of near 300mph and flies out of a 290' strip no problem. It has one of the biggest speed ranges I know of. In England there are a lot of pilots flying UF's and I've yet to be contacted about ''stalling'' I'd say we are 50-50 on CROW, no CROW of people I can think of. Some people land just fine without and some just fine with. Ali started using it as he prefered the feel on landing, I've never heard him say because it was wing dropping. There is nothing to stop you having either set up. In my mind if just one or two people don't stall/flick their UF's in without CROW and a tonne of flap it proves the model is fine...or are ALL these people exceptional pilots?? Geee I'm all for looking at the problem and trying to help but this ''Problem'' is really getting me...pi**sed. I've said it before and I'll say it one last time. I've flown a lot of Ultra Flashes, so from the various moulds and I've never seen an issue, its a complete bolt from the blue. Anyone wants my input please pm as I'm going to stay away from this keyboard punching thread for a few days Dave
Hey Dave, I don't think this is at all like the threads when people are bashing a product, I'm sure just about all of us love our Ultra Flashes. I think some are like myself "pre-maiden" , & are just afraid to F'ing it up, so trying to cross every T & dot every I.. I for one feel that hearing these experiences have improved my chances of success. Like the saying goes- "smart men learn from their mistakes, wise men learn from others" Jay

Another interesting common denominator.. Has anyone had a wing drop with crow? Or is every problem reported with flaps only
ORIGINAL: siclick33 I'm guessing that the differences are just due to people's setups and flying styles but seeing as there seem to be 2 distinct groups of experiences with this model makes me wonder, do CARF only have one mould/jig for the wing? If there are more than one, is it possible that one of them is different to another? Are all Ultra Flashes the same?
+1, I have thought of this. Too many people having problems just to dismiss it

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
ORIGINAL: Beavis
One of the benefits of having an aft CG is a lower stall speed so that would make sense.
Could you please elaborate on that basic concept (for the non-aerodynamicist)? I always thought that, with regard to weight, the stall speed was affected only by the overall weight and not by the CG as well. Of course, it appears that I thought wrong... Thank you in advance.
I'll give this a shot Beavis.. See if I can regurgitate something somewhat intelligent from my flight instructing days..haha The force required to rotate the aircraft amongst its pivot point "CG" is called the moment. The further forward the cg, the greater moment (force) required to pivot it. The only way for a jet to make the force is through airspeed (no prop wash), so although a jet is more stable with a forward cg, there is a balance, & once the balance is exceeded it will be a constant battle between elevator & a tendency for the airplane to pitch down, the only way the elevator can overcome this tendency in a jet is airspeed. further back the cg (within balance range) slower you should be able to land at a given weight. I could be wrong on this, It's just my take from my years of experience, & it's been a long time since I taught this stuff.

Truthful explanation says a lot about your character. You can tell "TRUE" learning has taken place... It can be argued a mistake that doesn't kill you & you learn from is not really a mistake. To bad it cost $$$.. Sorry for your mishap, she is a beautiful ship!

We should all be able to bring our wives/girlfriends/daughters To a summer event without worrying about some creepy, thirsty guy taking pics as they walk behind us. Is there really anyone that doesn't see the problem with that? What would you do if you caught some guy flicking shots of your daughter & his answer was "If she didn't want me taking pics, she shouldn't have worn shorts"... Could get really ugly really fast.. Small community we got here, U don't want to be known as "Mr cornball creepy"..lol[:)]

Wow that thing looks beautiful!!! With the hefty tag, I will more than likely never own one (probably because of my humble pilot beginnings when I was lucky to see 20k a year), but with that being said I will probably never own a Lamborghini Aventador either.. Prettiest sport jet on earth (with Super Bandit), Bob has done it again.. Will this design ever be beat???!!!
