RE: NEW!!! Official Traxxas XO-1 1/7 onroad....
I'm glad this car is as big as it is. I couldn't imagine trying to control a tiny 1/10th scale at these speeds. Best I've seen is 85mph(gps) and that's solely due to lack of room. I've yet to go full throttle.

$150 shipped MAX because its a non-VXL version. That means you don't have all hex hardware or ball bearings.

Need help with an RC Lawn Mower.
Pretty much, I need help figuring out and motors and logic board to use to control it. I've seen a build that utilized a Arduino board, but how do I know its motor limitations?

So I want a DB17 Flux, but all I have are the electronics.
So I already have a MMM and 2200KV motor, DX3R, Lipos and some high torque servos. I'm trying to find the most economical way to get the rest of the truck. Obviously I don't want to buy a RTR Flux since I already have a lot of the expensive parts. I think the only Nitro Savage that is equal to the Flux is the XL (same gears?). I see Savage X for sale a lot and even some SS rollers. It is worth buying one of those and upgrading it to Flux standards or is it not the best idea? Thanks

Just bought me a RS4 MT off ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120545577222&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT I plan on putting a brushless setup in it. Hoping for 50mph. Anything more than that would be pointless for me.

RE: Considering switching to brushless from nitro, need pros and cons
To be honest, brushless isn't any more difficult than brushed until you start using lipos. Same example holds true. Anyone can take a brushless traxxas vehicle, stick a battery in it and get going.

RE: Considering switching to brushless from nitro, need pros and cons
I have to argue that electric is FAR simpler than nitro. I'm talking about brushed electrics. Anyone can charge a standard NiMH battery and put it into a traxxas stampede and start driving. It takes skill and knowledge to run nitro. There is NO nitro motor that can withstand the beatings that a silver can 540 mabuchi motor can handle.

RE: Considering switching to brushless from nitro, need pros and cons
Best pro for electrics is that they are easy. Set it and forget it. Nitro's require constant adjustments, but you have a great feeling of satisfaction when its running good. Also love the sound and smell. GAS is AWESOME, no adjustments like Nitro and almost as easy as electric to get going. Con is that it can be super expensive (set of tires is well over $100).
ORIGINAL: 46u As far as popularity nitro is king but slowly losing to eclectic and gassers are last. All RC nitor, gasser and electric have there place. So I guess you would have to say gassers are not king either. [8|] If all they made was eliectic I would give up the hobby. Yes I have a few electric that I run on my RCP track inside the house when the weather is bad.
Nitro is king of popularity, but electric is king of performance.

RE: How much power 1/5 scale vs 1/8 scale
ORIGINAL: 46u Well the 20 pound gasser has an engine that is around 7 times bigger and it is only less then 3 times heaver then a nitro. So why would you be so impressed? [8|] If you take this all inconsideration then the gasser should not have a problem going 70mph.[;)] Like I said before I like my gasser a whole lot but I all so like my nitor a while lot. [:D] As far as eclectic I agree whit what you say but there is one place a nitro or even a gasser rules. A eclectic just has no solo. [:D] I watch electric race all the time and it is so boring!!! Yes they are fast instant torque but they still have not solo or sound.[;)] Eclectic all so rule over gasser so what are you trying to say? [8|] Thought this was about gasser and nitro. [X(]
Just wanted to make sure you didn't think nitro was king.
ORIGINAL: 46u As stated in one of my above post the recorded for nitro is around 110 MPH. What is the record for a gasser? Since I am running off road vehicles I do not care about all out top end but if I did I sure would be running an on road vehicle. [:D]
I'm actually far more impressed by a 20lb gasser going 70+ than a tiny nitro doing over 100. Also, don't forget electric owns nitro in pretty much every category including speed.

The recorded for nitro is 109 MPH. I like my gasser but will NEVER give up my nitro. It is like compering oranges to apples.
No you can't. The point of their statement was that a .28 does not have enough power to pop a wheelie in a 27lb vehicle.
